They do need to change the voting system, but with the pay for text voting, I do not see it happening anytime soon. |
What do you think ?
*Should the system be changed ?
* Is it "fair" ?
* How should they change it ?
* What do you think would work better ?
* Do you think they ever will change it ?

Yes
* Is it "fair" ?
How it is now? Absolutely not. What they have now can never statistically be accurate. For example...If the population were at 200 and one person votes 100 times for Diana. then what they are saying is that Diana got 50 percent of the vote. Its not an accurate and true percentage.
* How should they change it ?
My opinion....one - three votes per phone number...that way it gives others in the house a chance to vote for who they life if it differs from another in the house.
* What do you think would work better ?
Free for the first three calls, paid for the rest
* Do you think they ever will change it ?
Id like to think so, but for now...I doubt it.

| Posted by: ClayIsMyHero23 | | i honestly think they wont change it bc they have had problems with the voting system last year when ruben won.. clay fans thought the show was rigged bc they tried to vote and got to a disconnected line.. so i dont know.. i do think it shoudl be changed though | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: ukbird25 | | I think the public should vote for who is in the bottom three and then the judges should decide who gets voted off. I think this is the only way to stop the 'good' singers getting voted off.
A similar scenario happened in the UK last year. People vote for who they feel sorry for. We pay to vote in the UK, about 25p per phone call, and it still happens over here!.
Hence why Michelle McManus won last year! (Ouch) | | Reply To this Message

Its funny you should say this...I was talking to a few people and we had talked about that same type of thing....a little different than yours though...but I like your idea better.

| Posted by: JPLalltheway29 | | I agree with Mystic on the three free per household, 'cause I know my mom and I definately don't agree on who to pick. And it would be more accurate if each person only votes once, instead of all those redial-lovers pushing in 100 votes for their favorite. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Larke2000 | | i don't think it should be changed. it's worked for almost almost 3 seasons so just leave it alone. people are going to gripe and complain no matter what. no matter who gets voted off there will be people claiming racism or rigged voting. people have been voting as many times as their fingers will allow them to for 3 years. that's the way the show is. we know that's the way it is and we vote accordingly. why else would you hear people brag about how many times they voted? you don't hear them say "i got through 700 times and i'm so disgusted!" i doubt the voting will change over this one hiccup. and a hiccup is all that it is. there's been one every year so far and the AI world hasn't crumbled. that's because the public has a very fleeting short term memory. after this week, when fantasia is (unfortunately) not in the bottom 3 - and diana or john is (fine with me) - all will be well in AI-ville.
if anything, this has been a prime example of the wisdom in not holding direct elections in presidential races. | | Reply To this Message

The public does already vote for who they want gone.
Do you mean the contestants should vote each other off?
Nah...they already have to much pressure anyhow...and most of them are truly friends with one another....most of the voting would then be based on people they dont know as well as another person who might be bunking with them.

What would happen is the public WOULD vote the best singers off early on.
They would vote to boot better singers in order to save others.
This season, Fantasia, Jennifer and Diana would be long gone and you'd probably end up with John S, JPL, and George as the Final 3.
