Why would the Ministry hire Tonks to be an auror. She is very clumsy and that is not good for an occupation that requires stealth at times.

Is Tonks being controlled by an Inpervius Curse?
Is she there only because she is a metamorphmagus?

I have had many questions about her... and I hope that they are answered.
I even think that there is a POSSIBILITY that her character and the introduction and some info about metamorphmagus' has been a clue about Harry.

Yes I am sticking to my theory that tonks was introduced to help Harry discover that he is a metamorphmagus. You don't see hermione growing hair over night?

That's right... but Harry's does!

Why yes, yes he does. I have a feeling that he will be able to change his appearance except his scar.

I still have no clue why Tonks is an auror when she trips and stumbles all the time.

I don't know either... but, she seems really young as well to already be an auror.
I would expect that they aren't clumbsy, and that they can move with stealth.
Does Tonks strike you as a stealthy person?

Not at all. She seems very limited in her abilities.

Exactly... and Auror's can't be limited. In fact, they need to score quite high in their studies, and be exceptional in certain areas of magic. Unless Tonks just is a clumbsy fool when she's not "on the job" but I doubt that from what we've seen to this point.

Exactly, she knocked over a glass in the Dursley kitchen.

And there weren't supposed to touch ANYTHING.

Do you think that Harry might question things, regarding Tonks, and see some similarities in himself?

It all depends on how freaked out he is about losing Sirius. I think over this summer he will be thinking about the task that is ahead for him and how to survive. I am sure that Tonks will come to mind.

Yeah... he's going to have a lot to think about over the summer.
I wonder if Tonks, and others from the Order, will be coming by Privet Drive this summer.

I think Lupin will take the lead with Harry and really mentor him. He loved James, Lily and Sirius and he will do everything in his power to help and protect Harry.

I love Tonks, she's my favorite character, I chose my screenname because my mom says I remind her of Tonks.

I have always wondered if that had anything to do with your screen name. Cool.

I thought that too Nymph!

So why haven't you ever asked? Yeah I chose it because I really like Harry Potter and Yeah I'm Tonks alright. But most people think my screenname has something to do with sex, it gets annoying.

Anyway to be on topic, I definately think Tonks was introduced to help Harry find out more about himself.

Or maybe just a comedy character...

I'm with you, Buffy. Both Sherry and I believe that Tonks' character is going to be pivital in Harry finding out more about himself, and she can be like a "mentor" for him during this process.

I have asked other people with HP sounding names, and they were a bit offended. Didn't want to risk it.

Tonks will help Harry discover that he is a metamorphmagus.

Err... sorry about that... understand now

I think Tonks' clumsiness is just for humor, like Sandy said. Doesn't mean much... If you want to look into it, it may be JKR saying "see, you could be this much of a clutz, but don't worry, there's still a good job for you out there!"

HAHAHAHAHAHA, it's ok Grant.

I like your theroy, it's good to know us clutzy people can still get good jobs, no worries now.

Personally, I think that she is more than just a mentor. Jk gives us lots of hints in the names shes uses like " draco = dragon" well nymphadora means nymph - young woman and dora - gift. Quite possibly she will do great things one day, or has some special reason for being there other than just mentoring harry. There has to be something incredibly special about her that got her into being an aurorer and into the innermost circle of the order. I think the whole metamorphmagus isnt just a special characteristic, but represents A. the fact that she is very rare, and B. the fact that she can hide things about her features, and is probably also hiding something in her social character.
Personally, she reminds me of neville. Kind of clutzy not always " all there" but can do great things when they have a purpose. I think we can all agree that we are going to see more great things from neville. Possibly she will be there for neville more than harry. I dno they just remind me of each other.
Also, the whole thing with Harry being a metamorphmagus, I just don't like it as much. It seems like harry already has so many special features that making him one of those would almost make him like super man. And with the whole hair thing, yes I agree it is quite suspicious and it makes a lot of sense, but we have to remember that growing hair isnt the only thing he did when he was younger, he also landed on the roof of the kitchens when running away from dudley and his gang, not to mention the glass disappearing in the snake tank. The book described this as harry getting what he wanted magically, and well when petunia gave him the bad hair cut, he really wanted his hair back. Or even like when he got mad at marge and made her blow up. So i think there could be other reasons for the hair thing, and that maybe nymphadora has a secret and / or that she represents something greater in the overall of the book.

None of you thought that maybe Nymphadora is the bride of the Dark Lord. She may be clumsy because she wants to.The metamorphmagus is a special ability thatt I think can only work is you want to hide yourself or something. She may be a Death Eater but she doesn't have the Dark Mark(Moody would see it,no?).Harry will be given a choice between good or evil. What if Nymphadora will be the one that will give him the choice?
We know that her family is a outcast of the Black family...what if she liked the Blacks? How old is she?How old was she when the Dark Lord has been defeated by Harry?

Very interesting theory Nion. I have to agree that a Metamorphmagus could hide their dark mark. There is one thing that causes me not to believe the theory. Voldemort does not like anyone but pure bloods. Tonks' father was a muggle. Well, and I don't think Voldemort is a very sexual being. I think he is more interested in power than a love life.

Also, Tonks has just qualified as an auror, and although this does take a while (7 years?), it still means she is very young. Voldemort on the otherhand must be pushing 70 now, considering he was head boy 50 years ago when the Chamber of Secrets was last opened. I don't think Tonks could be Voldemort's lover, sounds like something that only happens to celebrities

very good theory Nion. Though scary
