I do feel that Simon's "pins in doll" and "battle of the Divas" comments fueled this entire outcome.

Ryan said that this bottom 2 had the lowest margin of votes between them EVER, and that the one staying (Fantasia) barely survived.

I'm sick of this ... just sick !

WHAT HAPPENED? Jennifer out? I can't believe it ! She was the best last night, obviously her fans thought others would vote for her so they decided not to, I'm not one of her biggest fans but I know she was A LOT better than Jasmine, Diana, and Jon put together ! And when Ryan asked George to go to the Top 3, I can't believe he went straight to that group, you seriously dont know what's going to happend, and isnt that showing to the other contestants that they do not seem like they could be in the top 3? I would of just stood there and said I didn't know which one would be in the top 3.. even though I would of thought what George did in figuring out the top 3.. oh well.. but this is just incredibly unbelievable !!

I know..jennifer is way better than john stevens thats for sure..she has a really nice soothing voice..and I CANT BELIEVE AMERICA..i dont even bother to vote ne more..there is like no good people...

but that was such a rip..the best 3 in the bottom..wtf,..,.,WHY R PEOPLE VOTING FOR JOHN STEVENS..this whole season is a rip...the whole william thing..then john stevens still here...come one people..jennifer was really sweet..had a good personality..and most importantly ..COULD SING the heck out of any song

Fantasia barely made it, yet John Stevens was in like Flint. What is America thinking???

I too am stunned.. What is happening is that those of us who recognize talent are leaving the voting to someone else... im guilty too. Those who are voting because he/she is cute/sweet whatever are flooding the phone lines and racking up votes

There was a teaser on Entertainment tonight or one of those shows that said things would be stunning tonight... boy were they right!!!!

As to whether or not to continue watching... I will watch until LaToya, Fantasia and George go.. then who cares......
But I will say I will probably at least try to vote from here on in.

Sad... very sad....

mystic ... I voted for Jennifer last night. Of the diva group ... I really did like her the best from the beginning.

However ... as I said ... think that Simon DID fuel this because if nothing else, he makes it sound like they are safe so people don't vote.

The others being in the TOP group is just insane. It's almost like an anti-Simon vote.

I had a bad feeling about this tonight.

Never mind the guys Jennifer is way better than than Diana or Jasmine.

george and fantasia had this look on their faces like they knew it was wrong..and ryan said something..like america get voting ..and stuff...my mom never wants to watch again...

The problem here is that they need to have a MINIMUM age for the contestants. With John Stevens and Diana Degarmo in the mix you have to contend with the "Popularity" contest of a High Schooler. I'll guarantee they're both getting all their classmates' votes and tipping the scale. John Stevens couldn't carry a tune in a bucket and has NO BUSINESS in this contest. Quite frankly, HE SUCKS! I may not even watch the show anymore, I'm so mad at the results thus far. John should have been eliminated weeks ago when he couldn't even remember the words or the tune of his chosen song. Please everyone, vote for someone, ANYONE except John Stevens.

Well you guys might be sad that jennifer hudson is gone, but you shouldnt be. You are all fans and if everyone really wanted her back they would of voted for her right? Obviously people didnt want to see jennifer that much. I do think John should of been in the bottom three instead of la toya, but whatcha gonna do. Like simon said diana and jasmine deserved to be in the top 4 too. They had strong nights. Im glad to see fantasia in the bottom 2, I really wish she would of went.

well all I can say is at least the judges comments are falling on deaf ears.. maybe Simon's nasty comments are causing a little rebellion in the voters? maybe showing Fantasia's little girl wasn't such a good idea? maybe Simon asking LaToya if she thought she could win wasn't such a good idea? just some questions.... haven't seen it yet but this news sure gives me hope to continue watching..

GRR!!! even the judges were upset...but i thought that putting john in was wrong from the beginning..they told people that were way better than him...that they werent what the show was looking for..and john is..william hung is better...

just wanted to add, if anyone has a way of hearing the original version of Weekend in New England, you would really see that Jennifer Hudson did not do a good job of this beautiful song...

That does it! I will not watch another episode of AI until RED is gone for good, forever, bye-bye, NEVER TO RETURN!!! The rumor has it, and I believe it, that it pays to be Mormon, which Jon is. Millions of mormons who are apparently as deaf as he is tone deaf keep voting him in. I've had a lot of respect for mormons... until now. They are stealing oportunities and dreams that rightfully belong to others and giving them to a total no-talent, no-personality, but-he's-a-nice-guy, loser. Why are they forcing this guy on us? He's not even good enough to get into their own tabernacle choir yet they want to force him on all of America! As stated by another poster, he should have been gone weeks ago. He never should have been in the final 12! If he has an ounce of honor and integrity in his soul he will step down and let Jennifer back into the competition. I'm hoping against hope that the other contestents urge him to do this. I hope they totally turn on him. I was really hoping Simon would finally say what everyone in America obviously now knows, that this thing is rigged by a bunch of idiots in dark blue suits and it's a damn shame. This show is a joke now. I don't think I could stand to watch it again. I almost hope Jon wins the whole enchilada, records an album and then watches it go down in flames. This makes me SICK!!

ok well right now i am listening to a song clay did while on american idol..and i can say season 2 was the best..because some people didnt really know about the show the first season..and after seeing kelly be such a success..people ..GOOD people auditioned..now no one is left..and now america just probably lost interest...or something..maybe since they figured out the show was rigged...(clay and ruben final show) yah...

oh and thanks about the ocd thing..you should come on the clay forum every now and then..

Yeah I know, No offence, but I think all of those in the bottom 3 are better than the top 3. It's just like the day Ruben was in the bottom 3! I mean, c'mon American, vote ! You can't expect others to vote, because they must be thinking the same thing, "Oh, everyones going to vote for _____ because they were so great tonight" I mean, I did the same thing, I thought everyone was going to vote for Diana who did GREAT last night, so I voted for George, my fav., even though he didn't do so good.. I guess I've learned my lesson. John needed to go way before Jennifer did. She will get a record contract or something will she?

I am so angry about tonight's results...I felt totally betrayed...there is now way that the three best singers last night ended up inthe bottom three... how fixed is this show really... I lost all respect tonight... there was no way that allt hree were truly the bottom three... actually in my opinion they were the best last night... which leads me to believe that the show is bogus... who THEY want to win, will win...and it has nothing to do with our votes... tonight they didn't ask the judges what they thought of the bottom three, and if they agreed with the vote... I'm angry after tonight's show... because I believed my vote made a difference...but obviouslsy not, because I see now it is all predetermined, and they will make, who they want to win, win...
I just done't see that Latoya, Jennifer and Fantasia were the bottom three... maybe one... possibly two, but all three of them...what a joke this competition has become...

Rivertown Carmen was a pretty little 17 year-old blonde who every one called "goat girl" because her voice sounded kind of yodely ... and yes she was a Mormon.

What's going to happen now is what happenned LAST season when Ruben ended up in he bottom 3. Everyone WILL start voting for their favorites.

I said it last week and I still feel that Simon via his comments played the 3 "divas" and their fans against each other and I knew Jenn would probably be the casualty ... I just didn't think it would be this soon.

They are definitely pushing Fantasia now ... and even included her "Yeah-yeahs" in the number with Barry Manilow !

I may just swing totally to George now if he hasn't destroyed his voice.

Well I had Jenn in the bottom 3 but I also had George and John, but I almost put Fantasia there. I actually stayed neutral with Fantasia only because they keep giving her a pass. Her style doesn't appeal to me and many others.

As I said before I think that George is getting a pass because of his past performances. George was BAAAAD last night and he knew it. If he doesn't shine next week he may be out.

Wasn't Jennifer, La Toya and Fantasia all Church Gospel Singers vs none of the others sang gospel? Coincidence?????

i think it should cost 5 or 10 cents a call..then only true fans of the person would vote a ton..

Well, I was shocked that Jennifer went home. I was hoping it would be Fantasia out of that three. It should have been John this week. Did anyone else notice that the three divas were in the bottom and they are the ones who tend to yell when they sing? Perhaps there were more Manilow fans out there that did not want to hear it shouted. I will miss Jenn. She was getting better every week.

Results show... duh, duh, dum.... Wow, I really hate these shows. Everyone in the remaining group is worthy of their own cd. I am really dreading tonight.

Well, to start things off, the kids sing back-up for Barry Manilow on his new patriotic single "Let Freedom Ring." They would have been better off redoing last year's "God Bless the USA" because the song is boring. Very forgettable. On the good side, everyone in the audience got a free glowstick to wave in unison. SWEET!!!

Okay- results! They're doing the groups again! Aack! Too much mystery! Okay-

Fantasia- Group A. Diana- B. Jennifer- A. Jasmine- B. John- B. Latoya- A. At this point we have the three divas in one group- Fantasia, Jennifer and Latoya, and in the other we have the kids- Diana, Jasmine and John. Before they announce George's group, we see the new Ford commercial. To the tune of "Holiday Road" the kids all roam around in space wearing these dorky mock space suits. I honestly thought I couldn't hate these commercials more than last week's "cut-out" fiasco, but I was wrong. Bring back the cut-outs!!! George, you're safe! He relaxes a bit and then Ryan tells him to go onstage and join the top group. He's hesitant, but makes his way over to the divas to which Ryan tells him is incorrect. Along with George, the kids are the top group this week. A diva is taking the dive. Ryan says its the closest vote margin in the history of the show. The judges take the opportunity to tell America not to vote for John. Not in such blatant terms, but they praise everyone but him and say he must have gotten some of JPL's votes. Now, George is only contestant left not to make the bottom group. Jennifer, Latoya and Fantasia all graciously applaud the others as they return to the couch. And joining them on the return trip to the couch is...

Latoya. Ryan says of the remaining Fantasia and Jennifer, the one going home had even been the top vote getter one week. But this week she is going home. This kind of proves my theory that the divas were all sharing votes, and when it comes down to fewer people, the % of people who like the diva/gospel sound have to split their votes among all the talented divas, whereas fans of say, John, don't waver and support different people, but stick soley with him every week, so that's why Jennifer is going home. Yup. Fantasia is safe and holds Jennifer for a long time. She says Jennifer is HER American Idol. Jennifer is very stoic and sheds not one tear, even watching her video. Good Luck to you Jennifer!

lol@calling all the black women divas....that is sooooo prejudice...okay, i will agree fantasia has diva-like qualities..with her standout confidence and all, but how are latoya(quiet girl)...and Jennifer? (unsure girl) divas? that is so wild...and it is soooo prejudice that i have to just laugh it off....
I will also add..that i in no way, shape, or form believe that was the real bottom 3. Fantasia has neeeeever been in the low 3. I think they just seperated them in a way to put all the black girls together, and make it really tense, even george thought they "divas" Group A was the top group....isnt that strange... They are the better singers....The real bottom 3 were: Jennifer Hudson, Diana, and John....The show just wants to throw us for a loop, because people are getting too sure that Fantasia will win..and it will become disinteresting to watch when everyone knows good and well who the winner is already... so they just set that up...LOL...i knew they were going to do that..i said in a previous post,, people were starting to become Fantasia haters, because they hate how good she is..and therefore the producers spiced it up and tried to scare everyone by having her in the bottom 3 which was soooo unreal to me and everyone i was watching it with....They dont want people to start hating her because of how great she does everyweek, nor do they want us to realize she is the winner....but I wasnt surprised at all the Jenn went home, just thought it would be Diana THIS week...but soon she will be packingn her bags... and John shouldnt even take his clothes out the suitcase....LOL....

I think the show called them divas because they have big voices and they are women. I don't think color has anything to do with it. There are plenty of divas out there who are white.

I am in the UK and I log on every week to read your comments as we don't see the programme until friday and I hate waiting!!.

I think i'm not going to watch it now out of principle. I haven't seen the show, but I know Jennifer can sing a lot better than most of them.

The same thing happened in Pop Idol 2 in the UK. People vote for who they feel sorry for and the good ones get voted off. I think the judges should pick who gets voted off out of the bottom three but then who would they have picked???????????

oldbutafan? who are you....anyways...like i said...I feel like the judges DO want fantasia to win....because she is good..not because they want a Black WOman to win....if that were the case they would hype up fantasia, latoya, and jennifer even though she is not that great...that is what I am saying....i dont think they manipulate anything though....because they can only give their opinion and its up to the voters....what i do think was set up last night is that.....those were NO Way the bottom 3...and they spiced THE SHOW up....they cant MAKE anyone vote for who they want to win...but i DO Think they know that Fantasia is the best one up there..its so obvious....if you can hear....
I feel as though the producers wanted to shock and awe us..not because the SHOW has pre-determined the winner (Fantasia), but because AMERICA already knows who will win because she is the BEST singer on the whole show, and AMercian loves her, as well as the judges. And in order to keep us on our toes...they just threw us for a loop, its not really what i call fraud....it was just some spice....

I think Laytoya is the best one, Fantasia is too gosple for me, SHe screams too much. I really like george, but he is not the best one.

I kinda had the feeling something was up last night when Ryan told Huff to join the top group but didn't say which one. I love how confused he looked when he was walking down to the groups, just like, "Ok, am I doing the right thing?" and of course, the three ladies were so happy to see George join them. And then the looks on all four of their faces when Ryan said, "I said to join the top group." Priceless. Even Diana, Jasmine, and John were shocked. I think it was a good reality check for Fantasia. She's always so sure of herself, so positive that she's gonna win this thing, that it was good to make her sweat a little. I have a feeling after last night, she won't be quite so cocky anymore. At least, we can all hope.
