I don't really hate OB. I think he is okay looking and I like his movies (however, I'm not too crazy about the milk drinking boxer thing), but he annoys me. Really really annoys me. And he takes the spotlight from a whole cast of actors who are much better than him. And his personality is bland. I think that is why you don't see him on too many talk shows, promoting his movies. Once you get past his "cheekbones" (Pip, you know what I'm talking about) he is kind of boring. And his fans! Ugh! I post on several boards and its seems like the Orlando/Legalos fans are the worst! All they want to do is swoon and don't really have any clue what the movie is about, or even care.

Well, I don't HATE his as such too, but I don't think he is all that he is cracked up to be. He is an okay actor, who thinks of himself a little more than he is. He is okay looking too, but I really can't understand what is so enchanting, so exciting, so outworldish and so sexy about the smooth shaven un-puberty touched boyish man-kid.

I ended up hating Orlando Bloom because of all the "oh he is so hot" comments everywhere. He was not the whole thing in LOTR. Sheesh. Like a manly man already. Now Viggo, he was HOT!

Personally I think he is a good actor and obviously a quick learner however I dont like being constantly exposed to one person for a long time.

Let me make a comparison; David Beckham, in the 90s and still you cant get away from him, it is like that for Orlando Bloom. I typed in 'Lord of the Rings' in a search engine and for the first three pages all I got was Orlando Bloom fan pages and Legolas 'slash' stories and art. (for those of you who dont know Slash is a fiction writers term meaning Male/Male relations and me being a male myself I didnt quite want to read that). As an actor, fine he is a good actor, but that is all I want to even imagine him in, if you get my drift.

He could be more like Johnny Depp though. JD is a good-looking bloke, but he doesn't flaunt his good looks to win himself parts in films, or fans. As flattering as it is having a fanbase of squeally teengirls, having the respect of proper film lovers as a great actor is so much better.

I personally prefer Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, Elijah Wood, and Sean Astin. Yeah, I think they are hot, but I also appreciate their acting. And I get the story. I get really annoyed when I meet a fan of LOTR and when I ask them what they liked about it, the first thing they say is ORLI! I think to myself, What about the awesome story! Forget about the handsome faces and appreciate the genius of Tolkien and Jackson!

The thing I hate about Orlando Bloom the most is that on the calendar he had three picture that were not only huge, but all too himself, while Frodo only got one and a half pictures, one of which was shared by Sam. AND My Pippin didn't have one picture.

What's the point? This is a thread for people who don't like Orlando Bloom and his hype. You obviously like him. There are many, many threads in the LOTR forum where you can post. I suggest you try one of them. I don't see you making it in this particular thread. Fuscia and I may be polite, but there are other members who post in this thread that will eat you alive.

I don't really hate him. He was good in LOTR. I do think that he had more screen time than the character warranted. I think too much hype surrounds him. BUT, that is just my opinion.

I agree with fuscia. I liked him in his other movies, Troy and POTC. But I thought his role as Legalas was way overrated. My problem with Orlando Bloom is the hype surrounding him. Well, the books are 100 times better than the movie. I loved the movie, but it doesn't even compare to the books. I don't think Tolkien is "Boring". He was a genius who created a whole new world complete with it's own people, creatures, cultures, mythologies, languages, histories, etc. I really think you should read the books.

well i get bored after about 10 mins of reading a book so 100 pages will be no good for me and i dont just mean tolkien the person who wrote the books during the war i mean really all books

Well, Lord of the Rings is definitely more than 100 pages. It is a trilogy. But it's a fascinating story. If you enjoyed the movie, you'll like the books too. It's way more detailed. Since you've seen the movie, you have an advantage. You already know what everything looks like, so you don't have to try and imagine everything. And there are entire chapters in the book that were left out of the movie so you get to know the characters even more.

yea but for those entire chapters theres a new 4 disk dvd set showing you some special features which lets you know more about the characters but i am going now see you tmr or later bye

Even the extended versions of the movie don't show you the whole story. I highly recommend the book.
