Dear All
For some time now, I had been on discussion with so many of you, I had a good time, lots I had learned, and lots I think I had educate, since the Fallujah issue came to the picture, I started to feel that it is pointless to keep listening to your same story and pointless for me to keep telling you the same story.
I am Iraqi not any thing else, and you are what you are, I can not sympathies with the killers, hostage takers, Saddam loyalists, religious extremists and foreign fighters. But I can’t help it when it comes to normal Iraqis, they are my people, my brothers and sisters, say what ever you want to say, but I can not think otherwise.
You people have your friends, relatives and close ones serving in Iraq and you of course sympathies with them, and it is your right.
On so many times we had agreed on that the media is not telling the truth. But you believe CNN and the rest and disputing Al Jazerra and Al Arabia, where I live, I can not get the Al Jazerra and Al Arabia but I have CNN and BBC , so may main source is what I get from other fellow Iraqis and direct family members in Iraq, which I believe what they say. All have said well about the American for the past one year or so and they have said badly as well, recently I started to receive only bad, nothing good, tension is climbing to high levels, the trust between the Iraqi population and the American army is hitting bottom low. It is up to you to believe or not, it doesn’t make any deference any more , things are turning ugly for both sides, you will blame the Iraqis and Iraqis will blame the Americans and so on, it is an endless process unless one of two happens, either all Iraqis are dead or Americans are out. If we have the first option then nothing is left to think about, if we look into the second option, then Iraq will be left to chaos which will result to the same result of option one above. So in both cases my country is gone, my people are gone. For the past few weeks I have seen wonders, (I am blaming no one) I have seen mosques turns into fighting places, I have seen hospitals turning to fighting places, I have seen ambulances trafficking weapons and genuine ambulance being shot at. I have heard about foreign fighters inside falluja executing women and children and whoever cooperates with the Americans. I have heard about Americans shooting in all directions because they have been annoyed by one or two by passers (yeh yeh I hear screaming it is not true) you always say that the American army are highly trained and very brave and so professional which I believe but you have forgot that they are also humans and humans are subjected to all kind of emotions and they tend to do mistakes, when mistakes happens, the blame is on the other side of course.
I came to this forum to discuss and learn, recently I have noticed that some of the guys over here started to accuse me with things that disgusted me, accused me of being a liar and sympathizing with this party or that, accuse me of picking up weapons and do this or do that. So I have come to rethink the objective of being here and I believe that it is enough, so this will be my last post. I don’t need any of that any more of that. Best regards to all whom supported me and opposed me, and my final word will be TIME WILL TELL WHO IS RIGHT AND WHO IS WRONG.
Yours
Ahmed (asantana)

You're welcome, asantana, may Allah keep you. And just remember, the Marines are sniping civilians left and right: Women—particularly the pregnant ones—and children—the younger, the better. In fact, the small ones sleeping peacefully in their cribs or suckling contentedly in their mother's bosoms are prime targets. We are bombing old toothless Iraqi men as they kneel and pray in their holy mosques. The older and more toothless they are, the better. And the more damage that we can do to mosques, schools, homes and AMBULANCES, the more we pat ourselves on the back and earn promotion points. Shoot, man, why we're just targeting civilians by the hundreds, even thousands daily. For this is the way of the U.S. Marine. This is the way of the American soldier. This is the way of America. God bless, Allah is Great.

Asantana, I regret your decision to leave, because the stuff and thoughts you brought in this forum opened the debate, but I understand your emotion about what is occuring in Iraq, and your reaction with some silly comments you have gained over here. Each of us would wonder like you if equivalent events occured in his country. I wish you well, and I hope that one day your country will be fully peaceful.

To asantana, don't give up. Your voice is the most intelligent and informative on this whole forum, and by being an Iraqi, can educate us Americans who are willing to learn the Iraqi point of view. Some people on this forum are open-minded enough to see both sides of the picture, but some have blinders on. Also, lot of Americans might be afraid to agree with you because it would seem "unpatriotic". There's a climate of fear, due to Bush's "patriot act", so don't take it personally. I want to tell this forum right now that I like Mom, Apple Pie and all that crap, but it's only by fate that I was born in America, so I respect the culture and traditions of people who just happened to be born elsewhere.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The U.S. casualties announced Sunday included five Marines killed when a patrol came under attack by insurgents with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades near the town of Husaybah close to the Syrian border, the Marines said.

The fighting continued through the night, the Marines said, pitting their troops against 120 to 150 insurgents. The Marines estimated 25 to 30 insurgents were killed in the attack.

They also reported seeing women and children surrounding mortar positions but could not tell if they were there voluntarily. They said the insurgents fired at medical helicopters carrying wounded Marines from the battlefield.
