in another scheme to part us from our hard earned money ($99.99), nintendo is releasing yet another version of the gameboy advance sp. one with the look of the classic NES controller. along with it they will be releasing classic NES games.
| quote: |
| Nintendo will release eight games for starters, all accurately emulating the NES games from the mid 80s: Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., Excitebike, Ice Climber, Xevious, and Bomberman. Each game in the series will be priced at $19.99, and will be packaged in a standard Game Boy Advance box featuring the classic artwork of the original game. |

| Posted by: chodder | | I'm still going to stay with my trusty Nintendo system. I'd like to see 'em do Duck Hunt. I dare them. What are they going to do? Make a gun accessory to fire at the 1 inch screen? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Larke2000 | | one of the best parts of duck hunt was that crazy laughin' dog. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Larke2000 | | what's wrong with the dog? that was hilarious. you miss and then this dog comes up out of the grass to laugh at you! the only thing that would have been even better was if you could have shot the dog. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Jeezus | | that is what i mean..... you don't try to shoot something you like!!!
"I like the dog" errr.... "I tried to shoot the dog".... that doesn't add up. That is like me going around and shooting ever hot woman that I see, because I like them so much.
This is why I say I don't like that dog. And I have tried so many times to shoot that S.O.B. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Larke2000 | | jeezus: i guess we're in agreement then. i was basing my like of the dog on the sheer joy of wanting to shoot the bastard. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Larke2000 | | yeah. NOTHING comapares to the original. what a game.
back in the day, everything was about gameplay. not how pretty or 3d (what 3d?) a game was. gamers of today are WEAK! they will never appreciate the days of one-hit sudden death. a bullet grazed your ankle in Contra and you were DEAD! there wasn't any of this 'life bar' crap. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Jeezus | | there are many more things that gamers today take for granted.
--- Infinte continues. What ever happened to 3 lives, 3 continues.
--- (as mentioned) Life bar?
--- (as mentioned) getting shot in the ankle killing you.
--- various difficulty levels. We had one! Hard.
--- more buttons. We made due with 2.... so can you.
--- analog controls. We had 8 directions to choose from. and We appreciated it.
--- saving/continuing. To go to sleep and continue a game, we had to leave it on all night.... save? what save?
--- CDs. We all remember blowing into our cartridege to get the dust out so they would work. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: chodder | | Yeah. I remember the good ol' days. They even had 3 games in one!!!

If I remember didn't they produce a brush that would "clean" it out instead of having to blow into it? If not then it must have been something I found around the house in a search of trying to make things more efficient because I would use all of my air blowing into it | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Larke2000 | | yeah, they sold a 'cleaning kit' with cleaning solution and these modified cotton swabs that were flat and wide. but nothing worked like doing it yourself. back then, 'huffing' had a completely different meaning. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Jeezus | | cleaning solution = alcohol
cotton swabs = 3 normal swabs pressed together.
and they sold this for like $29, when all you had to do is look under the bathroom sink/medicine cabinent. | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Larke2000 | | and they treated it like an exclusive nintendo proprietary product. "you can only use nintendo authorized cleaning products or it will void your warranty" or something like that. "we use exclusive cotton and alcohol unavailable at your local retailer" | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: chodder | | Cleaning Kit
Can only be used on Nintendo® products. Does not clean anything BUT Nintendo® products.
Warning: Solution will melt any other product except Nintendo® products.

| Posted by: chodder | | Hmmm... interesting..... I guess that is what causes the glitches in the matrix | | Reply To this Message
