According to Dean, the hairdresser, John and Diana were both crying after their performances.

"Right when she got off the stage, Diana ran into the bathroom and bawled her head off."
(Her mom is a stage mom and might have been mean to her after, as well.)

John Stevens was also crying very hard.

better they learn to deal with the pressure now and let it either break them or motivate them than have them cave under any real pressure after winning the competition.

That is sad, but I think at 16 I would do the same too. I am at 27, but at that age, I do remember having all these weird emotions and attitude, and wanting to please your family and teachers . . . hica....one word...relax....i would care less if you dont like fantasia's singing.. my name is not fantasia...but i DO happen to love her singin....but i wouldnt get offended if you said she sucked...because i kno for a fact those 2 guys suck... so that is why i said it..now..if i was to happen to meet them..or run into them on the street..i would go into as to why they suck...but why do i necessarily have to get constructive on a site where we are just telling our soul opinions... now just to satisfy you...i think diana sucks because: she sings too loud, and to broadway, and just like simon said...you can see that type of performing and singin in any high school play around america,...john stevens sucks because: he is dry...i cant tell if he is happy sad or what from one song to the next..and i will throw in that john stevens sucks because: he cant sing....lol...and i liked him at first...but when he stopped moving around and dancing while singin..i could hear that his tone was not actually good at all....i will also throw in that im a professional singer and song writer....and so i kno good when i hear it and i know SUCK when i hear it too... but on here ..i didnt want to get technical because i thought this was just to forum to talk about AI not try to solve their problems....but there you have it...constructive criticism...but since they probably dont come to this site...it will never reach them..and they will just continue to suck ...HARD...lol

oh come on guys none of these 12 finalists suck. at one point people thought they were good. now that they are all up against eachother some just out shine the others and make eachother look bad. its just the way it works. the youngest contestants have the hardest time coping with it all and thats just another thing they have to deal with. camile and jasmine are 17 and 18 but theyre dealing with it alright.

i am close to Diana and i talk to her and her mother in e-mail many times a week. And i did hear about this. She had JUST got over a sore throat. And she didnt know if she did good. but we all know she did. So vote,vote,vote for the best of many.

I'm beginning to think that j_butter_b is actually Fantasia. She's awful defensive when it comes to Fantasia, and she's seemingly got a one track mind. LOL

i totally agree w/ you Bab. I have noticed that alot latley and i've only been a part of inreview for 3 days. But then again i am very close to diana and i know shes not the best, but when someone starts dis-respecting the fact that she is a VERY good singer. Thats when i start to say stuff because its just not right. I think to Bash on any of the top 8 is bad. Now i do have my own opinon. And that is that the read head guy should be gone. But then again that MY opinon and NOBODY has to agree with it. But anyway, if you want to email me back then do so at onlywade@comcast.net

I don't want to get in the middle here friends, but let me just say that American Idol is a television show. It's ENTERTAINMENT.

What's entertaining about bashing, being mean and fighting ?

My advice:

* To the flagrant meanies and bashers. If you want to be mean and bash or flame, may I suggest that INReview has a wonderful Flamers' Ward for your pleasure ? I'm serious. You can dish it out there ... and be prepared to take it.

* To those who are hurt or offended by the mean stuff. Life is full of this so just consider the source and ignore it. This is a nice, friendly forum, and anything over the top will be dealt with by the very capable mods here.

I do understand what you are syaing!! And i do agree with many things as listed in your message..BUT! I joined in-review ONLY 3 days ago and I have noticed by many in-review members(NOT TO SAY ANY NAMES)but..... I DO NOT WANT to come to in-review and it not take ME by suprise that people are bashing american's AMERICAN IDOLS. I know Diana Degarmo and we were talking , and she said they average 4 to 6 hours a day thursday untill sunday. ALL DAY ALL THEY DO IS WORK, WORK WORK! Yes, we do have a bit of fun with criticizing the contestants each week. I think Diana has an awesome voice. She seems very sweet, and if she picks the right songs, she could win it.

Diana has a big voice...and considering how young she is, just think how far she will go!!!!

I think that the way each one performs is not as important today as the their uniqueness. Something different that sets them apart. If one can combine the ability to be on tune hold the pitch have power and voice control as well as sound like no other as well as have a warm personality then thats what will win. The only way to beat that combination is too add to it being good looking then you have it all. The problems we see hear with all the differing opinions is the order of importance given by each. Each one on the show has at least one of the qualities, the winner will have most if not all of them or have so much more of one than any other . As I see it Fantazia and george are the front runners strong talent , strong personalities , and very unique.

I wouldn't say George has a strong personality. I'd just say his smile is contagious and he exudes this good guy persona that makes you want to see him go further.

I think all final 7 alll have a little somthin,, somethin,,!!(LOL)

Diana really belted it out last night. If she keeps up performances like that she will remain in the competition for a few more weeks. I give her props for being so young and working so hard. She's got a good voice but she's just not up to par with the divas, IMO. Fantasia, La Toya and Jennifer are really fighting it out with superb performances.

John and Diana both rocked but I don't know if either one of them are/were the next american Idol...I mean...who knows I think John didn't really dream of the whole STAR dream like diana has and she has voice...so who knows...maybe she will go all the way....

no ..diana is not the idol for this season..she has a lot of maturing to do... maybe she will be a great singer in a few years...she is not tone deaf..but she needs to be more natural..and she will gain that with time i'm sure. She often is just loud for no reason when she sings...its acceptable to be loud at the climax of a song or at a power point...but she is loud all the way through... and it just shows me she doesnt have control of her voice yet or she doesnt know when to use that to her advantage... but she is not the worst singer i have ever heard...but farrrrrrrrrrr from the best...

That's how I feel about Diana. I think for being 16, she has a voice on her but I don't think she fully knows how to use it. That is the thing with having 16 year-olds on the show, because they have not fully grown into their voices. I mean listen to her voice up next to like Latoya, who knows when to hit the notes and when to hold back.

Bottom line: Diana has a good voice but is not this year's American Idol

Diana has a powerful vocie on her for her age and john has the 50s vocie in him their both very talented.

Diana...really brought me to tears last night when she was singing. I think Diana should win but if she doesn't then I am hoping that she still gets a record deal. I didn't like her at first, but now she has grown on me.

John Stevens(who I saw behind Diana's mom last night) did sing like he was from the 50s but it was cute...and I hope him well in life too....

AI gets to people soo much lol. i have to say regarding john stevens, he really isnt that good at all. his range is weak he has no variety in his songs and even in his big band frank sinatra type style he really isnt that good. why so many people voted for him is a mystery to me. at best he is about average and thats about as tactful as i can get. on to diana. first of all, at best i would set her above average singing voice but not AI. many times i sat there as diana screamed her songs out at people. her range is pretty good but not good enough to fit into the genre of music she sings. her genre would be britney spears and christina aguleria, and although i dislike both, she doesnt have a chance against them. britney isnt that strong a voice but christina smokes diana like she just learned to sing. where does diana fit in. with the genres they fit in to, fantasia fits better. i wouldnt buy any AI cd cause i dont watch the show to find a new idol of mine, i actually think its pretty dorky that these people think this is the way to true fame. i see AI as a curse setting its contestants to a brief 15 minutes of fame. if it was the money they wanted there are a lot of other ways to go about doing that. these people want to be famous, nothing is wrong with that but they want the world to know their names and almost worship them. under the worlds scrutiny i think fantasia fairs slightly better. fantasia although not a beauty queen, i see her matching her genre of music. i see her matching against funky soul R&B singers where the over look isnt the big issue. diana seems to try to sing like christina aguleria and in that genre you dont see many girls that arent the width of my elbow and we all know diana is a little larger. btw does anyone want to see her stop wearing tight clothes, its kind of gross and i really dont mean to be cruel but its kind of a on screen turn off. to the dianafan, john stevens should not have made it to the top 32 and i will always stick to that, at most he had something different but he was mostly boring and drab. this has lead me to believe that talent isnt always the reason for people being in this contest. i also think even though diana is pretty decent, there were many people kicked off that were still much better than her. for instance latoya and jennifer although i didnt care for either. thats my two cents, anyone that doesnt agree, well let me put it this way, i dont give a flying bleep lol take care all and dont take this stupid show with the worst voting system get to you all. and my vote obviously goes to fantasia

btw, i dont think they should allow anyone under 18 in any following seasons. kids that young just cant handle success or ridicule. they just arent ready for it and if they think they are, they are already messed up. look at todays grown up kid stars, some make it ok, some molest kids, kill their wives, do porn, and well you guys know.

Fantasia is good but not my type of American Idol

John Stevens...I like his voice...but to be real...I think more people like his look & his voice then just his look

i honestly dont think diana comes close to christina aguleria. i'm not saying her voice couldnt be that good one day, but it seems to me that she is way under developed. she cant sing softly, i heard her trying to sing at a regular volume and it wasnt strong at all. she always kind of screams or yells her words out. granted sometimes it sounds pretty good, it really isnt developed as it could be, not as much as christina aguleria. and comparing her to Christina was a bad thing for her i think. people associate her with christina aguleria genre and in that genre so far, all the singers are skinny and beautiful and not to be mean but diana is neither. just going as the genre goes though. i do think she has potential but this whole padgeant thing kind of scares me. i hate those young padgeant girls, they are all messed up. for john stevens, people definately didnt vote based on his vocals thats for sure. his look doesnt seem to be that great as he kind of looks like a goofier conan o brien. the classy suits and the song choice is what he owes his success to in my opinion. his voice is utterly weak and it pains me to think that AI may have fooled him into thinking he was a "great" singer. another thing that bothered me about him was when they talked to him. he was like, i go to the best singing school in all of new york where only the best singers go, and i fit iin there really good. thats generally what he said and i dont think he does belong there. really though, his voice is weak and he didnt belong on AI with the other greater talents, would you agree?

btw i hope this is the last AI because its become a circus rather than a talent show. also lets face it as many people that do follow the show, none of them will ever really idolize an AI winner like the real thing, and the people that do need to start listening to a broader range of music. what i want to see next year is battle of the bands hehe. music today just sucks. there are exceptions but music has gone down the crap hole. i wish people would start writing their own music again instead of singing someone elses music. a person that can play an instrument while singing his or her own song is my definition of a real star or musician for that matter.

Ok this is it....I want to share my feelings.

I think this year of Idol has been the worse. It is more about who has the hometowns and other things behind them...who is the better person not really the better singer and I am lost becaus the last 2 years...gave us great singers....I think they should move the age up to 18...I agree with that.

Diana is a strong singer when she hits them high notes...I mean even Randy was nice to her last night...

But I really stoped liking the show when Jasmine out beat George...should of never happen

so, i think they both are too young. if they cant take criticism from simon easily, theres no way they would make it the real world of performing.

Well at least John and Diana controlled it really well while on stage and in front of the cameras. It was jasmine whom I think is the least ready for the real world in which she broke down while on stage, in front of the judges, and in front of the cameras.

yeah i was embarassed for hawaii when she cried, very unprofessional btu i realize that she is just a kid and that happens, they should not allow kids to compete when they will be judged like adults. the only thing i ever liked about John stevens is that he at least took it like a man. honestly though, its ok for a girl to cry on tv like that, but if he did, he would find himself the butt of everyones jokes, although he already has been.

Jasmine shouldn't of been in the top 4 and I think she knew that. I am not mad or sad or upset that she cried onstage but she was out of her range....I know they are doing an American Idol 4 but they are going to no where cities and they are moving the age up and that's ok to me..I'm 18...so I can but I have to drive to like...FLa to try-out.

I think that John, Diana, Jasmine, Camile were all to young for this show. Now Diana and John kinda acted older then they were. I mean if you ever hear John on any of the talk shows after he was kicked...he sounded like an older guy...and I think that the age should be moved up because then....your not pinning a 16 year Vs. a 25 year old (the oldest and youngest in this season)...but to be real...I don't think AI4 (or anyone after this seasons) will ever be as good as AI1, AI2...and even AI3...I just think American Idol is kinda over living it's time on TV....

yeah i was wrong camille is 18, but i think 18 should be the limit, like maybe 18-22 cause latoya was just too old and it showed. between jasmine and latoya is like 8 years, it shouldnt be this much, its like boxing, heavy weights dont fight the light weights and i think its the same here. she has almost 5 years more experience than the rest of the contestants. she just seemed too old.

I think the age limit should be 18-22 (good choice AgentBebop), because Latoya was to old and in the end, I think that is why she was voted off. The crowd (mostly kids between 15-23) couldn't feel her the where we felt Diana, Jasmine, Fantasia and some others.

No one in the top 12 sucked because each one sings something different...so it is to a different crowd for each one of them...I personally like John and JPL (and Diana for a female singing).....
