Saddam and the regime are goners everywhere once things start looking certain. Day by day the Iraqis are turning the corner and starting to welcome liberation in the open once the fear has disappeared. This is happening everywhere and hundreds of locals in Najaf were congratulating the Americans as the entered the cities streets.

The war has turned and is looking better than ever.

This is just one man. And if the war carries on longer more and more civilians will get killed and more resistance will grow. Note this extract from your text:
