Bill Gates Is No Longer The World's Richest Man

Swedish TV news reported Sunday that a 77-year-old Sweden man has a personal fortune of 400 billion crowns ($53 billion USD) Ingvar Kamprad is the owner of the furniture retail chain IKEA.

Thanks to the dollar's slide Ingvar's fortune has now overtaken that of Bill Gates, placing him in the #1 spot of The World's Richest (alive) Man category. Gates Fortune sits at $47 billion at the moment.

Mr. Kamprad is known for such habits such as flying economy class, regardless of the fact he could fly in his own jet. He no longer takes part in the daily running of IKEA but has kept ownership of 180 stores in more then 30 different countries.

47 Billion and 53 Billion. What do you even do with that much money?

Houses, cars, computers, music stores and stuff... whatever's left I'll think about giving it to charity

Hmm... I don't feel like buying anything from Ikea anymore... decided to switch to B&Q

what will one do with 53 billion or 47 billion, these are great figures and gives one a name, fame and fortune, but what will it give it to him or her when we die???

Where are we going to take all this money? Yeh give it to family left behind, but what personal gain do we get out of such great fortunes, when we have people all over the world still dying of hunger and starvation!!!!

I don't see this world as very fair do you????

Bill gates has made microsoft into the worlds biggest monopoly and if he sees anyone even hinting to start something similar he eats them out of the market using whatever tactics possible!!!

Ikea produces overpriced household items and furniture, which literally costs them nothing to make in comparison to the prices they charge for it!!!

Therefore not very fair!!!!

Great.

Now Bill Gates will raise the prices on licensing and software purchases so that he will again rise to the top.
And finally start encouraging the government to mandate chip implants.

Then we won't need a computer to access the internet.
Our chip can automatically access the internet via wireless satellite uplink.
(He has actually written essays about this. It's not a pipe dream for this freak.)

I understand Bill Gates and his wife give TONS of money to charity. I know, I know, it's nothing to what he has. And of course the 47billion dollars isna't in cash. He probably couldn't raise more than 10 billion if he had to. Poor darling.

They give that money from the Gates Foundation for PR and tax write offs...nothing as self serving as that.

He never used to contribute to political parties either...until the whole monopoly endigtment came into play...now he's generously to both parties, of course.

He was getting a bad rep that he wasn't donating any money to charities, so again, he bucked up and started giving out the wazoo.

He would have never given on his own without provacation.
