| Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Fedotov is to hold consultations in Beijing with leaders of the Chinese Foreign Ministry on the Iraq problem from April 3-4. The high-ranking diplomat divulged this news to Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
Fedotov is planning to discuss in the Chinese capital some problems linked with "the search for ways to settle the situation in Iraq."
He said "the upcoming consultations are of great importance due to the proximity of the Russian and Chinese stands on the problem". "Moscow and Beijing are in favour of a political settlement of the situation within the U.N. Security Council," Fedotov stated.
