Question - how do we know this joke came from america and not ...Canada, U.K., Russia etc.
I've seen some pretty bad middle east jokes come from Russians and from Russia - more so then post number 1.
From the way it is written, yeah - it probably did, but some things have to be taken with a grain of salt depending on who it is from.
I do not agree with poking fun at a culture - but post number one made me laugh.
Hell, i make fun of the people in my state more then any other place in the world.
On top of that, the American way is not racism - i could care less if you were green - if you talk, i'll talk.
I know about 400+ people on a personal RL level, and not one of them is racist.
Perhaps you live in a racist area of town or something, but were i live is pretty open to any beliefs and colours.

it is sad but true. Too many people are like that - and its worse when they aren't even from the place they hate. I've always wondered that - how can you hate a people you've never met...how can you hate a place you've never been? How can you base your hate off the govenment? Or been to but only for a short time? So short in fact, you only met a few people if any at all..not enough time to know them on a personal level...
Too many people out there and in here that do not LISTEN to what i being told to them.
Oh, they read what is being told - but don't listen. what they read goes into the visual cortex, and disappears into that great big void they call a brain - and then dish out prejudge mental garbage based on what they've been told or seen. Which is usually about the Government and not the actual people of America.
VERY large difference there - that many are to damn ignorant to understand, or refuse to acknowledge the fact there of.
In my opinion, Americans are very laid back people who like to enjoy life, laugh, and live. We have no desire to take over other countries. We would prefer that the world keep turning and we be left alone, in peace, to do what we want in our own country.
We also like to help other countries...a little too much i think.

Where do you get this information from? The USA is per-capita not even in the top 20 of "generous" countries.
Seeing as the rich west has gained and continues to gain so much from the third world I'd hardly say it's charity to help them from starving to death or dying in their millions from AIDS.
As for the World Bank and WTO investment in the developing nations, very often this just enriches western companies and continues to make the situation worse in the country that has taken loans because of the rules that are enforced as part of the loan, ie, social spending MUST be cut, utilities MUST be privatised, such as hospitals, banks, schools, water, electricity etc. It's worth looking into but probably not on any right-wingers list of things to take a blind bit of notice of.

I think that you (USA govs) have provided many billions to dictators in SA and Africa with the excuse of building hospitals, scholl, etc ...and they used all this money to buy weapons and continue wars in the areas USA wants (or need) to maintain stable/or unstable to benefit their companies.

Nothing ever changes, Dream. Like I said, America will always have enemies. It's natural law. Everybody is jealous of and resents the top dog. This has been going on since the end of the Cold War. I just figure, let them pound sand and "eat cake."

When one refers to America as America and does not mention the Gov, it is refers to the WHOLE.
Comp I ninth grade states this. Comp I and II college states this. Technical writing (advanced class) states this.
If a particular sect of a country is not pointed out, refering to the country as the name does not pinpoint the location of attack.
As America, refers to the companies, local and international, Government (which one? we have over 50 of them), the people (which race? we have all of them), religion (which one? again, we have all of them), etc.
Perhaps others do not see it this way, but i have been saying this in this forum for over a year - and people still have not caught on. I love being a broken record - God bless

The argument over country doners has been aired before. The original statement that I replied to was the US is THE most generous country in the world, more chest thumping, flag waving - we are the best! No proof of this, just assumption.
Despite trying to explain that the per-capita aid donation of the US is outside the top 20 doners in the world many on here just pretended what I'd said wasn't true. Being proud of your country does not mean pretending things are not as they are because it spoils your rosy view.
Secondly, you say you've been posting on here for over a year. Then how could you not have read the hundreds of times people have said this is not about the American people, it is about American foreign policy?

We try to save the starving in Africa before helping the homeless in our own country - WE pay more money to starving countries then dying children in our backyards - YES, we do help other countries a little too much.

You find me CONCRETE proof, that the American people do not do what I just stated an have been stating. And i'm talking about legal documents, stating that U.S.A. population does not donate to those going into the field and doing what i just stated and have been stating.
