Starting Anime...

I just decided about a week ago: Hey, i'm bored, im gonna learn to draw anime! So, with the help of some websites, i am! I'm going to post some of my drawings on here, and if you have any tips, suggestions, criticisms, anything please tell me!

Ok, this is one of my first attempts at a head.
The quality isnt very good because i had to use paint when i scanned it in.

I will, im learning to draw the bodies at the moment...i can do the top half but the legs are soooo haaaard!

Hey i have a good idea. i am currently writing a comic story and maybe you could animate it for me, but give me time. It's far from done.

Me? Animate it? That would be impossible! Im not even moderately good yet!

I would love to if I could though!

personaly I hate anime and I used to LOVE IT! I have my own style of drawing. Not Chibi, or magna or all those crap.

The picture's great for a start, I have to admit!

Is that your first try or have you been practicing? I know you said it is your first try but it is very good and it is hard to beleive it is your first try.

Well done anyway, it is as good as any that I have not done by a profesional.

That was my first try, the only thing i had practiced before were the eyes.

I have done a few drawings of anime style people but I don't practice any more. I used to be able to get it almost perfect except the hands and the proportion of body parts. I focused more on the face and I went through this stage of trying to get the drawing to look younger and older but that isn't a problem any more.

Anyway you have talent and I advise you to keep drawing.

Im working on the bodies at the moment, male and female torsos with arms. Not too hard! When i get a good one, i'll post it!

Ok, it still isnt quite right, i need to work on the shaping, but this is what i have done for a complete female body, and i thought: who better to draw than Rogue!

The body propotion isn't that bad but is slightly off and the drawing itself isn't bad either, very Anime-ish. All in all a good picture, well done

Did you notice, she doesnt really have any hands!?! I can't draw hands!

No shame in not being able to draw hands, very hard to do, I managed to mangle one out for my Art GCSE but other than that thy are very hard to draw and proportion

Hmm...very good Pip. Definitely better than anything I could do. And yes, almost everyone has problems drawing hands.

Grrr! I hate them....but not as much as legs!!! They are by far the hardest thing to do. They end up looking like matchsticks or chicken drumsticks!!!

So do you get hungry after drawing the drumsticks?

Ok, I kind of neglected this thread, but I have been drawing still

I've improved quite a lot, and been experimenting with style and colour...

This first one was more of a doodle, working with side profiles

I really like this one...I don't know why, but I just think it's cool

This is based on Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas, drawn in an anime style. I could really play with colour here, which was great! This is one of my favourites.

I'm getting into drawing really strange and akward poses ^_^ They never start out akward, but they always turn out different!

Meh, whatever, at least they get drawn!

This one is kinda random...I drew it on a whim and liked the way it turned out!

This one is an old RolePlay character of mine, a vampire warrior called Rain...

And another RP character, this one was made but never played, as the board shut down. Ah well, I like her anyway ^_^

This one I was experimenting with drawing Anime animals....and it turned out as a sort of dragon thing! I really like this one, and it's ended up being the basis of our band logo.

This one I drew today when I was off sick with a sore throat. I wanted to draw something flowy....which ended up as a trenchcoat. Then it turned into the Drummer in our band...
