Hip-hop hunk Nelly is warning fans to be aware of unofficial model searches for his female clothing line Apple Bottom, after a fraudulent event took place in Oakland, Calif.

A Bay Area retuailer allegedly staged a false event dubbed "Apple Bottoms Model Search" at Kimballs Carnival on Sunday.

An Apple Bottoms spokesperson says, "This event was in no way affiliated with Apple Bottoms or Nelly. We are looking into legal action to halt the fraudulent advertising and executive of these illegal events."

The official Apple Bottoms Girl Tour will kick off in July and will be hosted by the rapper himself.

Sales for Nelly's men's clothing line Vokal and Apple Bottom are expected to top $100 million this year.

How many 16 year old ladies are out there who would die for a chance to meet Nelly? I know i would. i know the big stars like Nelly do big shows to promote themselves but why cant they come to some of the small towns too? I live in meridian mississippi and not ,uch happens here, but if Nellly ever rolled through alot of things would change and add a little spark for the high school and the rest of the state. Just something to think about.
