ok so why are you stunned???? Please share???? Was there a surprise in the person who left? Who was in the bottom 3?

I figured it would be down to John Stevens, Camille Valesco, and someone else. AMY got the boot!!

John was safe! Camille was safe! Jennifer, Amy, and LaToya were the bottom three.

Latoya in the bottom 3????? thats just amazing!!!! Amy went????!!! Yikes from what i was reading yday it didnt seem that the voting was going to go this way!

Alright...this is the bottom line....PEOPLE in America who voted for John Stevens and Camille are absolutely tone deaf!

For not even one of these two to be in the bottom three simply stunned the hell out of me! (Although I thought both belonged there).

Something is really wrong with this picture.

How truly sad that people think those two are even slightly talented and even more so...to vote for 'em.

Im so shocked over this...

Im beginning to think it's almost a joke to even watch now. People arent taking this seriously enough to vote for the best talent....this was all too proved tonight.

Guys I have a massive headache and will most likely miss the show. who is out?

Ryan welcomes us. It's become clear that Ryan has lost his razor ... and now apparently someone stole his clothes because last night he wore Don Johnson's suit ... and tonight he borrowed Fantasia's suit from Soul Nite. Shall we take up a collection ?

The group number of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" was pretty awful. This crew cannot sing/dance together in unison or in a way that's complimentary.

It's also poorly staged, IMO and most of them look like fish out of water. It's going to hurt the Idol Tour big time if they take these 10.

Maybe they can just do an AI "Tribute to the Supremes" Tour ?
No offense, but the black ladies are the only ones who can "move" well on the stage, and they stand out as sort of good thumbs among a bunch of sore thumbs.



Even Dipping George, when teamed with the boys loses the beat.

The Ford Commercial was also drek.

I'm sorry to harp on about this but i cant believe that Latoya could be in the bottom 3!!!! She's like the favourite to win the whole thing!!!! And she normally delivers every time .. and on occasion rocks the house... for her to be in the bottom 3 during motown of all weeks ... i still cant fathom it.

I feel sorry for Amy cos i really think that John S has to go sooner raher than later! Mind you i guess Amy doesnt have a large fan base... similar to Jennifer .. so these 2 girls really have to perform at their best every week to get ppl to vote for them.... which brings me back to Latoya who i would have thought has a huge following...

Latoya sings very well, but the song was a bit boring. Lets face it, it is mostly OOOOs. The outfit may have cost her as well, or the fans assumed she was safe.

I am so dang slow ... the results are here before I posted my little recap for the out of country away teams !

First of all ... I am crushed that Amy is gone ... really ... but I expected her or Jennifer to be in the bottom two.

I was surprised to see Latoya there, but she is in my bottom group and belonged there. See my comments in the 3/30 show discussion thread.

Amy was really starting to grow on me. I was finally understanding why KJ likes her so much. She has a very, very good voice, and plenty of quirky charm all of which I prefer to that of Diana, Fantasia or Latoya.

All that being said ...

Let's not blame John Stevens for Amy's departure. John had a bad performance last night. I strenuosly disagree that John Stevens has no "talent". John has plenty of talent albeit a lot of room to grow. He is 16 folks and tho' the deck has been stacked against him Soul and Motown ? ... he did alright on Country night.

Camile belonged in the bottom 3. She tried hard and I guess America rewarded HER ... but not us. I am upset that America cost us Amy while keeping Camile on board.

I hope no one is angry at me for disagreeing with (most of) you ... but what fun would it be if we all felt the same way... and liked the same thing. Now THAT would be boring.

Oh my goodness !

Folks ... relax. A woman is going to win this competition, if they have any control over this ... which they do.

My guess is that they would like it to be a woman of color, which boils it down to Fantasia, Latoya, Jennifer, Jasmine and Camile.

As you can see those that some of us claim as favorites are not in that group.

So Amy was destined to be eliminated ... and the good news is as a member of the Final 10 ... she should be included in the Idol Tour as well as any group CD's so as she said ... she is NOT going away.

I think they'll bring Matt back for the tor too. Leah ???


One more thought. Did anyone else notice that the FIRST Bottom 3 member called down was the one to go home for the past 3 weeks ?

Yep ... Week 1 Leah was the first named to Bottom 3 ...
Week 2 ... Matt was the first named to Bottom 3
Week 3 ... Amy was the first named to Bottom 3

Also .. this was the first week they have named two bottom 3's in a row (Amy and Jenn).

Don't put too much stock in it though.


This is all to make us think we have it all figured out so they'll change up... probably next week.

I still say that 3rd bottom 3 is put there by the producers to make things interesting and shocking.

I think next week is either Movie or Big Band. I'm pretty sure April 20 is Barry Manilow ?

They are also supposed to do a Latin Pop night so who knows what will be when ?

I think if Amy would have gotten rid of the pink hair she would still be there. I just don't think America wants a Pink Haired Idol. Play the game, then once you are the Idol or get those record deals then you can make it any color you want.

Ahh but to be fair he definitely brings a different side to the competition. He gives a different sound to the other contestants and maybe that is what is his appealing factor.....

its like camille - i liked her from her very first audition and even though she hasnt performed up to anywhere near the same standard since then as yet, i'd still back her cos i want to hear her reproduce that... and i think that is the same with quite a few people for various other contestants.

There will come a point though, as the number of contestants dwindle - where people's favourites are eliminated, when people then have to decide on who to support instead... thats when individual performances on nights will become very crucial and thats when it will start to become more interesting....

Yeah, I'm really upset... because she IS a good singer. But, I guess people want that gospel crap.

I think they recognized that this wasn't John's forte. Everyone seems to love his carooner style and Motown just don't lend itself to that type of singing.

I love it too and it would have been absolutely right for him.

Each of the contestants have to choose their own songs.. they all have to do it so its pretty fair... they must get some assistance but the final choice is up to them.

Sorry KJ - i also thought that amy would be around for a while after last weeks performance ... she really did outdo the rest of the pack in country from what i saw.... and the main reason could have been that she looked as though she was having fun up there and enjoying herself. Maybe others thought that she just didnt show enough this week... Out of interest, now that ur favourite has gone who do you think you might push for instead from now on?

In a nice twist, Ryan wears the exact same suit as last night but in the reverse color scheme. Very clever Ryan. Paula is considerate enough to wear her best dalmatian sundress. I always knew she had a little Cruella DeVille in her- always toting her little mutts around.

After Ryan's quick intros we get a group medley of Ashford & Simpson's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Johnny doesn't do any funny dancing though. Its a little stiff, but actually right with the choreography. Dang! He looks kinda punkish tonight. Jennifer's hair is fluffy and looks great but honestly i hate her facial expressions. grr!

Okay, medley's over, but we got no Ford commercial and we're already upto the results. What? No medley last week and no commercial this week? Arg!

Okay, there's six people sitting up top and four on the bottom. John is on the bottom row so I will guess last night's worst performer is safe. He's next to Latoya so she must be in the bottom. Here's my logic. Remember last year when Ruben and Josh were on the couch and Ruben was in the bottom instead of Josh who sang horribly? When ever an obvious person isn't called to the bottom right away, they are safe and the good person they are next to is in the bottom. That's their way of drama. It's a theory, but I'm pretty confident.

Fantasia, you're safe and oh so smug. JPL, you were rocky but safe. Jasmine, you don't need Aladdin to protect you, you're safe. George, you rocked, stay sitting. Amy, take the walk. Jennifer, join her. Diana, no worries, you're safe. Camille, there must be more people than me that like you because you're safe. Ta-da! John and LaToya are the drumroll couple. But first we get that Ford commercial we were waiting for. I'd tell you about it, but it sucked. LaToya, take your cat out for a walk. You're in the bottom. Grrrrrrr! So...Amy, Jennifer and LaToya are on display as the bottom group. Jennifer is clearly annoyed by all of it. Randy says 2 of the 3 don't belong there and Simon says when you let America decide, you deal with the results. He was grinning as he says this because he learned from last year not to worry because America will buy CDs from whoever they vote for, even if they don't fit the mold. Of course if Fantasia was in the bottom he'd walk off the set. Latoya, go back and comfort Johnny, he looks a little sad that you took his place tonight. So two left, and the one going home is...


cute as pie, all American, 100% sweetheart, Amy Adams. Well, her boyfriend got more face time tonight. Four times! I will definitely miss Amy's humor. She doesnt deserve to be eliminated. She seems like a great person to know, but you know what? We can cheer for her on the tour this summer. Go Amy!!!!!

We also have to look at a state voting for Camille even though she does not do well.

I still cant believe that Amy got booted and LaToya was in the bottom three. I am not surprised with Jennifer Hudson bec i really dont like her. i feel like she's trying too hard. All these facial expressions of hers are very annoying. i cant stand looking at her. sorry but its true. Id rather have her booted than Amy :-(

Shockers for me: Latoya in the bottom 3. Camille and John NOT being in the bottom 3.

Not huge surprises: Amy getting voted off. No offense to those who were big fans, but overall she doesn't (didn't?) have a very big fan base. Jennifer being in the bottom 3. Looks like many people have the same opinion as me about her darn facial expressions. I think she'll be gone next week, if the whole state of Hawaii keep voting for Camille.

I think Fantasia, George, and JPL have the biggest fan bases. John must also have a huge fan base, but I think if he doesn't shape things up and bring it these next few weeks, he'll be gone. People won't keep him in forever if he keeps going like this.

With Latoya... I think the problem is people think she's safe. Obviously, she's in many peoples' top 3. People think she's safe. When you think someone's gonna be for sure in the top 3, you start worrying about your next favorite that might not have a secure spot in the top 3. I think it's a wake up call for all Latoya fans. They're all realizing they'll have to vote to keep her in. Can't assume she's safe anymore.

I think John felt horrible that Latoya was in the bottom 3. He knew she didn't deserve it, especially not over him. He looked majorly disheartened.

In the end, I see the top 3 as being Fantasia, Jazmine, and JP because of their combination of uniqueness and fan base.

Oops. I meant Jasmine. I thought it looked funny.

I am totally disgusted with the results tonight, as are most of you all.

We are having Camille stuffed down our throats just like Rasmusun )sp) last year. I am already puking waiting for her next perfomance.

Well goes to show what we all know, like we voted for Camille to be gone and then they throw Amy out. Comeon If the whole Country of Bulgaria had voted for Camille she woldn't have pulled enough votes to lift a donkey.

John Stevens has had a stunted childhood wherein he never learned to smile. Tonight I thought we were going to be treated to some real tears from him, that would at least been more emotion then we have seen so far.

A Crooner? ITShay, Frank was a Crooner and could make an audience eat out of his hands , same with Dean. John makes me want to run out of the room in embarrasement.

Big Band week, he won't even know they are there.
Bary Manilow, well I would love to hear him sing Whatever Lola wants, on second thought no I wouldn't.

Amy gave an entertaining performace, itwas fun, and she didn't deserve to be blown off.
Pink hair or wierd hair didn't stop Nikki last year until the end,

I think that LaToya and Jennifer should definitely have been there. No way should Amy been boosted off. What is America thinking? LaToya is nothing spectacular and Jennifer's personality is like she's the American Idol already. I can't believe she said that she did it for "all her fans". What fans, the people who voted for her. She was in the bottom 3 so it looks like she doesn't have that many fans. Camille should have been the first one to go. Why is she still here? Fantasia gets on my nerves because she always sounds the same and bounces with every song, whether it needs bouncing or not. She, Jennifer & LaToya should go back to Church Choirs. Plus, remember when Simon said one of the final 24 had too big of a mouth. Well, what about Fantasia. If she opens it any larger, her vocal chords might just fall out. John Stevens is young and has lots of fans out there, but I don't think he'll make it to the bottom 3. My top 3 are: George Huff, Diana DeGarmo and Jon Peter Lewis.

However, I'm with Mystic. I'm going to keep on watching it because I'm hooked but it has become a joke.

Well, can't wait to next week when the "fans" vote off another winner.

This show was shocking... although red haired John is cute, he can only sing one style of music... Frank Sinatra... yes, he does it well, and that is why Simon touted him for being different and classy, but the kid has failed every week, and he keeps on going like the energizer bunny... as I watched his face last night, I think he wants it all to be over... he knew it should've been him that left... I don't think in his young life, he has the ability to pull up to the occasion...

dumping Amy and leaving John was one of those weird anomollies <sp> actually both Johns have to go... JPL is only continuing because he has all the Mormon vote in Utah and Idaho... he's not that good and he dresses like a hobo...

...at this point I belive that it will be Fantasia and George going head to head in the final show... Fantasia is a great singer, but she has this annoying nasal sound that annoys some people... but I've noticed she's losing that slowly, and learning from the free vocal coaches... she will do well...
and George is popular because of his winning personality...

I really thought red haired John would go this week... don't know where all those votes came from and why... he really sucked...

But putting it all in perspective, I see it no more shocking than in the first season when Tamara Gray got dumped... NOW THAT WAS A SHOCK!

GADZZZZZZ!!!! LaToya should NOT have been in last night's bottom three. Now, Fantasia on the other hand..eeeeeek.
I predict that George Huff and LaToya will be the last two standing. I sincerely hope someone gives Fantasia the boot..and soon. She's just wayyyy too full of herself.

OBAF - I was only trying to be smart. Because it seems all the good ones keep getting voted off. Apparently the really good ones don't have as many fans as the really bad ones. I know the fans vote for the ones they want to stay, but the one's who are staying, their fans must keep redialing the entire 2 hours. How else can you explain last night's booted-off-the-show choice?

And here's a pop quiz for you. Can you name a FEMALE crooner from the past who made it pretty big ?
How about Dinah Shore, Doris DAy, Who sand the little doggie in the window? She was a crooner, Jo Stevens oh it was Pati Page who also sang Thw Tennesse Waltz.

Anything ? What anything ? George was singing in the genres that were perfect for him 2 out of 3 weeks -- Soul and Motown ! Although he did pretty well ... he is the one who should have knocked it out of the park and I don't think he did.

He will watch him. remember this guy is from New Orleans and can do anything Kidding, but he has a lovelty range unlike your Crooner who is not crooning
