| Posted by: mystic | | Alright...this is the bottom line....PEOPLE in America who voted for John Stevens and Camille are absolutely tone deaf!
For not even one of these two to be in the bottom three simply stunned the hell out of me! (Although I thought both belonged there).
Something is really wrong with this picture.
How truly sad that people think those two are even slightly talented and even more so...to vote for 'em.
Im so shocked over this...
Im beginning to think it's almost a joke to even watch now. People arent taking this seriously enough to vote for the best talent....this was all too proved tonight. | | Reply To this Message

Jennifer and LaToya were the other bottom two along with Amy and Amy lost.

| Posted by: jayb47 | | I'm sorry to harp on about this but i cant believe that Latoya could be in the bottom 3!!!! She's like the favourite to win the whole thing!!!! And she normally delivers every time .. and on occasion rocks the house... for her to be in the bottom 3 during motown of all weeks ... i still cant fathom it.
I feel sorry for Amy cos i really think that John S has to go sooner raher than later! Mind you i guess Amy doesnt have a large fan base... similar to Jennifer .. so these 2 girls really have to perform at their best every week to get ppl to vote for them.... which brings me back to Latoya who i would have thought has a huge following... | | Reply To this Message

Im in total agreement with you jayb47! I always thought that the last two standing would be LaToya and Fantasia.
Unfortunately, I think John is gonna stay another week at least because Jennifer will be the next to go...due to the lack of fans you mentioned....
Another week with John Stevens....(and I keep harping about that)...but its killing me to hear this guy sing every week!! It agonizing.
He rates a zero (0) on the personality scale and a two-three (2-3) on the vocal scales....
Maybe in time he can improve, but the guy needs some massive training!

| Posted by: oldbutafan | | I am so dang slow ... the results are here before I posted my little recap for the out of country away teams !
First of all ... I am crushed that Amy is gone ... really ... but I expected her or Jennifer to be in the bottom two.
I was surprised to see Latoya there, but she is in my bottom group and belonged there. See my comments in the 3/30 show discussion thread.
Amy was really starting to grow on me. I was finally understanding why KJ likes her so much. She has a very, very good voice, and plenty of quirky charm all of which I prefer to that of Diana, Fantasia or Latoya.
All that being said ...
Let's not blame John Stevens for Amy's departure. John had a bad performance last night. I strenuosly disagree that John Stevens has no "talent". John has plenty of talent albeit a lot of room to grow. He is 16 folks and tho' the deck has been stacked against him Soul and Motown ? ... he did alright on Country night.
Camile belonged in the bottom 3. She tried hard and I guess America rewarded HER ... but not us. I am upset that America cost us Amy while keeping Camile on board.
I hope no one is angry at me for disagreeing with (most of) you ... but what fun would it be if we all felt the same way... and liked the same thing. Now THAT would be boring.

| Posted by: oldbutafan | | Oh my goodness !
Folks ... relax. A woman is going to win this competition, if they have any control over this ... which they do.
My guess is that they would like it to be a woman of color, which boils it down to Fantasia, Latoya, Jennifer, Jasmine and Camile.
As you can see those that some of us claim as favorites are not in that group.
So Amy was destined to be eliminated ... and the good news is as a member of the Final 10 ... she should be included in the Idol Tour as well as any group CD's so as she said ... she is NOT going away.
I think they'll bring Matt back for the tor too. Leah ???
One more thought. Did anyone else notice that the FIRST Bottom 3 member called down was the one to go home for the past 3 weeks ?
Yep ... Week 1 Leah was the first named to Bottom 3 ...
Week 2 ... Matt was the first named to Bottom 3
Week 3 ... Amy was the first named to Bottom 3
Also .. this was the first week they have named two bottom 3's in a row (Amy and Jenn).
Don't put too much stock in it though.
This is all to make us think we have it all figured out so they'll change up... probably next week. | | Reply To this Message

But if people had to vote based on the evening's talent....John was at the bottom....he might have done well on Country night...but lets not forget...he forgot the words to the song that night....one good night (if you want to call the forgotton words a good night) doesnt constitute safety every week for the guy. Lets face it...maybe it was good because he didnt have to sing the whole song. LOL!! Just kidding...sort of.
When I said no talent...I mean he is young and needs more training....but to get a recording contract before that training is laughable. He doesnt deserve to win over Amy...I dont blame him for Amy leaving...I dont remember saying that...probably because I never did. I blame the public for voting for a guy who had one good night and on that night forgot the words....
To keep giving the guy chances is ridiculous especially based on what he has given us, which amounts to about nothing.

| Posted by: jayb47 | | Ahh but to be fair he definitely brings a different side to the competition. He gives a different sound to the other contestants and maybe that is what is his appealing factor.....
its like camille - i liked her from her very first audition and even though she hasnt performed up to anywhere near the same standard since then as yet, i'd still back her cos i want to hear her reproduce that... and i think that is the same with quite a few people for various other contestants.
There will come a point though, as the number of contestants dwindle - where people's favourites are eliminated, when people then have to decide on who to support instead... thats when individual performances on nights will become very crucial and thats when it will start to become more interesting.... | | Reply To this Message

I know a LOT of you think I'm totally nutz.
But if people had to vote based on the evening's talent....John was at the bottom....
See I don't think they vote on the "evening's talent". It's cumulative and if someone started out as one of your favorites ... you might give them a pass ... especially when it's not where you think they will shine.
he might have done well on Country night...but lets not forget...he forgot the words to the song that night....one good night (if you want to call the forgotton words a good night)
doesnt constitute safety every week for the guy. Lets face it...maybe it was good because he didnt have to sing the whole song. LOL!! Just kidding...sort of.
Country was a breakthrough because we saw a surprisingly good song choice, more comfort and some hint of personality. Forgetting the words didn't matter to his fans and he ad-libbed and covered like a real pro.
When I said no talent...I mean he is young and needs more training....but to get a recording contract before that training is laughable.
And I think that he might be good singing his songs in a more comfortable situation.
He doesnt deserve to win over Amy...
Did you see the look on the kid's face ? He is a good and humble young man. He knew that overall his performance last night was judged by many -- maybe himself -- as worse than any of those three ladies. Camile also looked really upset because she's been unfairly dodging the bullet.
I dont blame him for Amy leaving...I dont remember saying that...probably because I never did. I blame the public for voting for a guy who had one good night and on that night forgot the words....
I think the public looks at the whole picture and with "expectations". They look at Camile and say ... she was good at first and this was better last night ... so maybe she'll make a come back. They look at John and figure the genres have been unfair to him ... and they exect he will do better given the chance. Amy was up, down, way up last week and faltered last night. So people figure that's it for a singer who is more mature than either John or Camile. Jenn & Latoya were expected to kick butt last night and neither of them really did, IMO. That's why they were there as well as people thinking they were "safe".
There is also a backlash at times when the judges "gush" lke they do about Latoya and Fantasia.
To keep giving the guy chances is ridiculous especially based on what he has given us, which amounts to about nothing. IMO
He gives some people something. Hope ?

We discussed lying about votes and skewing results somewhere a long time ago. Old scout kind of won the debate by stating the fact that they would be foolishly risking losing their cash cow ( American Idol) because of fraud if they did that ... and thus wouldn't do that.
I believe LaToya was in the bottom 3 ... and that Diana was still damned close to the bottom.
Top 4 vote getters in ths order:
Fantasia
JPL
Jasmine
George
^^^ above all have huge fan bases.
Diana
Camile
John S
Latoya
Jenn
Amy
Does that look so impossible ?
Consider other factors.
Diana -- people don't like her "artificial" personality.
Camile -- people went to bat for her because she "tried" last night.
John S -- has a pretty big fan base, but not as big as JPL. He may have disappointed and is slipping.
Latoya -- people figure she's safe plus people are turned against her they don't like the judges saying things like she can do no wrong.
Jenn -- they pulled her out of the bottom 3 last week. They expected her to be "great" on Tuesday but she was not and so she let them down. She's back to the funny faces they hate.
Amy -- As said. People wanted every week to be like Sin Wagon and while she didn't tank on Tuesday ... she ended on an odd fake note and came off as inconsistent. I don't think it was her hair. I think if she would have nailed that last note she'd still be there.

Sorry KJ - i also thought that amy would be around for a while after last weeks performance ... she really did outdo the rest of the pack in country from what i saw.... and the main reason could have been that she looked as though she was having fun up there and enjoying herself. | Posted by: purplefish | | In a nice twist, Ryan wears the exact same suit as last night but in the reverse color scheme. Very clever Ryan. Paula is considerate enough to wear her best dalmatian sundress. I always knew she had a little Cruella DeVille in her- always toting her little mutts around.
After Ryan's quick intros we get a group medley of Ashford & Simpson's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Johnny doesn't do any funny dancing though. Its a little stiff, but actually right with the choreography. Dang! He looks kinda punkish tonight. Jennifer's hair is fluffy and looks great but honestly i hate her facial expressions. grr!
Okay, medley's over, but we got no Ford commercial and we're already upto the results. What? No medley last week and no commercial this week? Arg!
Okay, there's six people sitting up top and four on the bottom. John is on the bottom row so I will guess last night's worst performer is safe. He's next to Latoya so she must be in the bottom. Here's my logic. Remember last year when Ruben and Josh were on the couch and Ruben was in the bottom instead of Josh who sang horribly? When ever an obvious person isn't called to the bottom right away, they are safe and the good person they are next to is in the bottom. That's their way of drama. It's a theory, but I'm pretty confident.
Fantasia, you're safe and oh so smug. JPL, you were rocky but safe. Jasmine, you don't need Aladdin to protect you, you're safe. George, you rocked, stay sitting. Amy, take the walk. Jennifer, join her. Diana, no worries, you're safe. Camille, there must be more people than me that like you because you're safe. Ta-da! John and LaToya are the drumroll couple. But first we get that Ford commercial we were waiting for. I'd tell you about it, but it sucked. LaToya, take your cat out for a walk. You're in the bottom. Grrrrrrr! So...Amy, Jennifer and LaToya are on display as the bottom group. Jennifer is clearly annoyed by all of it. Randy says 2 of the 3 don't belong there and Simon says when you let America decide, you deal with the results. He was grinning as he says this because he learned from last year not to worry because America will buy CDs from whoever they vote for, even if they don't fit the mold. Of course if Fantasia was in the bottom he'd walk off the set. Latoya, go back and comfort Johnny, he looks a little sad that you took his place tonight. So two left, and the one going home is...
cute as pie, all American, 100% sweetheart, Amy Adams. Well, her boyfriend got more face time tonight. Four times! I will definitely miss Amy's humor. She doesnt deserve to be eliminated. She seems like a great person to know, but you know what? We can cheer for her on the tour this summer. Go Amy!!!!! | | Reply To this Message

Just for the heck of it ...look at what my Tuesday performance ranking was:
TUESDAY 3/30 ONLY
George
Jennifer
JPL
Jasmine
Fantasia
........
Amy
LaToya
Diana
John S IV
Camile

Look at my bottom 5 group. I only missed Jenn .. but I like her.
And look at my top 5. Flip Fantasia and Jenn ( who I give more weight because she's MY homegirl ) and I was in the same ballpark.

OBF....let me ask you something.
American Idol is about pop music, and I know that alot of this stuff they have isnt pop, and I have always been confused as to why they make them go through all this junk to overall have a pop career....but in your eyes, do you think John can sing pop? I dont see that as his genre either. Big band music? Sure...he'll probably do well....but his contract and album would be pop, not big band.
I dont think American Idol was for him...mahybe he should have gone through another avenue to sing what is best for him, but this isnt for him....
Of course its just my opinion...
All I know is that if others can do all this stuff, then he should have to also. This isnt about letting a young man have a chance....its about who is the best, and I havent seen him do that in any week. He has managed to stay in, but truthfully, he hasnt done proven himself in the same league as people like Clay and Kelly Clarkson.
Do I expect him to win? Certainly not...I agree a woman will win this...they are overall more talented than the guys this season.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I didn't say he WAS a pro ... I said covered LIKE a pro. Pros make mistakes too. Plenty of times, and a pro reacts and adapts in a smooth way ... which John did. If the judges hadn't mentioned it ... many people would not have known he flubbed the words to a song he just learned.

| Posted by: JPLalltheway29 | | Shockers for me: Latoya in the bottom 3. Camille and John NOT being in the bottom 3.
Not huge surprises: Amy getting voted off. No offense to those who were big fans, but overall she doesn't (didn't?) have a very big fan base. Jennifer being in the bottom 3. Looks like many people have the same opinion as me about her darn facial expressions. I think she'll be gone next week, if the whole state of Hawaii keep voting for Camille.
I think Fantasia, George, and JPL have the biggest fan bases. John must also have a huge fan base, but I think if he doesn't shape things up and bring it these next few weeks, he'll be gone. People won't keep him in forever if he keeps going like this.
With Latoya... I think the problem is people think she's safe. Obviously, she's in many peoples' top 3. People think she's safe. When you think someone's gonna be for sure in the top 3, you start worrying about your next favorite that might not have a secure spot in the top 3. I think it's a wake up call for all Latoya fans. They're all realizing they'll have to vote to keep her in. Can't assume she's safe anymore.
I think John felt horrible that Latoya was in the bottom 3. He knew she didn't deserve it, especially not over him. He looked majorly disheartened.
In the end, I see the top 3 as being Fantasia, Jazmine, and JP because of their combination of uniqueness and fan base. | | Reply To this Message

OBF....let me ask you something.
American Idol is about pop music,
Is it ? It is American Pop Idol ? But what is "Pop" anyway ? A LOT of people said Clay's style of singing was wrong for this competition. Whatever becomes Popular is Pop Music.
and I know that alot of this stuff they have isnt pop, and I have always been confused as to why they make them go through all this junk to overall have a pop career....but in your eyes, do you think John can sing pop?
I think John in time can deliver music that will become popular -- because it's different.
I dont see that as his genre either. Big band music? Sure...he'll probably do well....but his contract and album would be pop, not big band.
I dont think American Idol was for him...mahybe he should have gone through another avenue to sing what is best for him, but this isnt for him....
Of course its just my opinion...
As for is this the right conest for him ... you may be right, but only because what they want is a woman of color to win and that's how it's geared.
Remember the push for Ruben last year ? The public wanted Clay ... and the public was right. But they wanted Ruben and excuse the expression but they "pimped" for him ... and they are doing it with Fantasia this year. THEY create the environment.
Clay was a one-time phenomenon -- and a very smart young man.
Do I expect him to win? Certainly not...
Probably not. He will likely be outdistanced by JPL who has the cute personality and will get more girly-fan votes.
I agree a woman will win this...they are overall more talented than the guys this season.
As I said THEY ... the producers have created the environment. They started paving the way back when Paula was complaining that Randy and Simon were only picking women. Remember ?

We are having Camille stuffed down our throats just like Rasmusun )sp) last year. I am already puking waiting for her next perfomance.
Well goes to show what we all know, like we voted for Camille to be gone and then they throw Amy out. Comeon If the whole Country of Bulgaria had voted for Camille she woldn't have pulled enough votes to lift a donkey.
John Stevens has had a stunted childhood wherein he never learned to smile. Tonight I thought we were going to be treated to some real tears from him, that would at least been more emotion then we have seen so far.
A Crooner? ITShay, Frank was a Crooner and could make an audience eat out of his hands , same with Dean. John makes me want to run out of the room in embarrasement.
Big Band week, he won't even know they are there.
Bary Manilow, well I would love to hear him sing Whatever Lola wants, on second thought no I wouldn't.
Amy gave an entertaining performace, itwas fun, and she didn't deserve to be blown off.
Pink hair or wierd hair didn't stop Nikki last year until the end,
I feel like our votes are going nowhere, like for Clay last year.
What a dismal thought.
One good thing , my home boy George! He rocked, I see him going to the finals. He has talent and can sing anything
Well I have vented enough.

Good post D!
I agree with just about everything you said...
I think George will outlast all the guys...the only thing I think is that it will be woman against woman at the end, other than that...I think George will be at least third...but its a guess (which doesnt add up to much) Hee hee!
One thing though.... who is Nikki? For some reason...I dont remember a Nikki.

American Idol is about pop music,
Is it ? It is American Pop Idol ? But what is "Pop" anyway ? A LOT of people said Clay's style of singing was wrong for this competition. Whatever becomes Popular is Pop Music.
I agree with you "oldbutafan"... this is not neccessarily a "POP" star that could come out of this... You never know, even if John Stevens doesn't make it to the very end...he has already been discovered, and I bet ya there are music labels fighting over him now. Look at that Josh Grebin(sorry if I spelled that wrong) He has cut a country CD already!
As for is this the right conest for him ... you may be right, but only because what they want is a woman of color to win and that's how it's geared.
Do you really think? LaToya sounds like every other r&b woman singer there is, Jennifer has control issues, & Fantasia has too bad of lyspe... and those want to rag on John sounding like "BigBand music" Fantasia is pure gospel choir (Which don't get me wrong, I LOVE)...but is her 'style' going to stop her? I can't really imagine any of them winning this year.. I could be wrong though!
Remember the push for Ruben last year ? The public wanted Clay ... and the public was right. But they wanted Ruben and excuse the expression but they "pimped" for him ... and they are doing it with Fantasia this year. THEY create the environment.
LOL! Haven't heard it put like that before! But true...true! And look who's face you see everytime you turn on the music video chanels... CLAY... I've seen one video for Ruben "Sorry 2004", I'm wondering if he is even going to have another video in 2004!
This isnt about letting a young man have a chance....its about who is the best, and I havent seen him do that in any week. He has managed to stay in, but truthfully, he hasnt done proven himself in the same league as people like Clay and Kelly Clarkson.
This show is ALL ABOUT letting a young man or a young woman have a their chance... And, each is different, each chance/// it may not envolve them making it to the very end, heck some don't even have to make it past try-outs! "She bangs-She bangs"...even though the judges..ie Paula, has said that LaToya can do no wrong, my opinion she was not all that great the other night... & now to think about it, it makes sense now that they would push more than the other as being perfect (we all are not dumb & won't always agree with Paula)...all of them have had their off nights. They all go through the same routines and voice lessons to prepare for each week... their ALL good enough, it's just going to boil down to who can handle the pressure, and who can't, I think.?
I actually would like for one of the younger contestants to win, say either 16yr old John, 16yr old Diana, or 17 yr old Jasmine... bcs our younger teens & children need an idol of their own that is not all about the three letter word that begins with s and ends with ex ... I'm so disgusted with Brittney you-know-who... Also... one more thing before I shut up.... The good thing about Fantasia if she does win, hopefully, she'll keep her "good wholesome christain" values...maybe ???? you think???

Ron ... do you know the Sam Cooke song "You Send Me" ? That's what he SHOULD have chosen. The kid picks the wrong songs and nobody helps him. |
But didn't I hear that they give them a list of songs to pick from? If that's the case then it may not of been on the list.
Are you sure that the Sam Cooke song was Motown? Seems to me it came out before Motown.

Each of the contestants have to choose their own songs.. they all have to do it so its pretty fair... they must get some assistance but the final choice is up to them.
Sorry KJ - i also thought that amy would be around for a while after last weeks performance ... she really did outdo the rest of the pack in country from what i saw.... and the main reason could have been that she looked as though she was having fun up there and enjoying herself. Maybe others thought that she just didnt show enough this week... Out of interest, now that ur favourite has gone who do you think you might push for instead from now on? |
Absolutely no one. Truly... I just don't really LIKE anyone else.
Maybe Jasmine would be a nice winner... but, now, I don't care who wins.
I've lost interest. My partner has also. We will still watch, but not with much enthusiasm.

| Posted by: auntgoldie | | I think that LaToya and Jennifer should definitely have been there. No way should Amy been boosted off. What is America thinking? LaToya is nothing spectacular and Jennifer's personality is like she's the American Idol already. I can't believe she said that she did it for "all her fans". What fans, the people who voted for her. She was in the bottom 3 so it looks like she doesn't have that many fans. Camille should have been the first one to go. Why is she still here? Fantasia gets on my nerves because she always sounds the same and bounces with every song, whether it needs bouncing or not. She, Jennifer & LaToya should go back to Church Choirs. Plus, remember when Simon said one of the final 24 had too big of a mouth. Well, what about Fantasia. If she opens it any larger, her vocal chords might just fall out. John Stevens is young and has lots of fans out there, but I don't think he'll make it to the bottom 3. My top 3 are: George Huff, Diana DeGarmo and Jon Peter Lewis.
However, I'm with Mystic. I'm going to keep on watching it because I'm hooked but it has become a joke.
Well, can't wait to next week when the "fans" vote off another winner. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Phoenix2582 | | This show was shocking... although red haired John is cute, he can only sing one style of music... Frank Sinatra... yes, he does it well, and that is why Simon touted him for being different and classy, but the kid has failed every week, and he keeps on going like the energizer bunny... as I watched his face last night, I think he wants it all to be over... he knew it should've been him that left... I don't think in his young life, he has the ability to pull up to the occasion...
dumping Amy and leaving John was one of those weird anomollies <sp> actually both Johns have to go... JPL is only continuing because he has all the Mormon vote in Utah and Idaho... he's not that good and he dresses like a hobo...
...at this point I belive that it will be Fantasia and George going head to head in the final show... Fantasia is a great singer, but she has this annoying nasal sound that annoys some people... but I've noticed she's losing that slowly, and learning from the free vocal coaches... she will do well...
and George is popular because of his winning personality...
I really thought red haired John would go this week... don't know where all those votes came from and why... he really sucked...
But putting it all in perspective, I see it no more shocking than in the first season when Tamara Gray got dumped... NOW THAT WAS A SHOCK! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: BAB | | GADZZZZZZ!!!! LaToya should NOT have been in last night's bottom three. Now, Fantasia on the other hand..eeeeeek.
I predict that George Huff and LaToya will be the last two standing. I sincerely hope someone gives Fantasia the boot..and soon. She's just wayyyy too full of herself. | | Reply To this Message

The fans don't vote anyone OFF ! They vote for the ones they like best and want to stay !
If we look at it from the ratings perspective, the more people who have "favorites" on the show and vote for them ... the more people will be watching ... and that ups their ratings.
By the way, I think some of Amy's fans will now switch allegiance to Jasmine and maybe Diana.

Apparently the really good ones don't have as many fans as the really bad ones. I know the fans vote for the ones they want to stay, but the one's who are staying, their fans must keep redialing the entire 2 hours. How else can you explain last night's booted-off-the-show choice? | | Reply To this Message

Leah was the one with the Bulgarian background. Camile is from Hawaii and is I believe of Phillipine descent. She and Jasmine split this fan base -- I think.
John Stevens has had a stunted childhood wherein he never learned to smile. Tonight I thought we were going to be treated to some real tears from him, that would at least been more emotion then we have seen so far.
I think he had an old-fashioned childhood where family and respect were paramount. In MY opinion, that's not "stunted" --
A Crooner? ITShay, Frank was a Crooner and could make an audience eat out of his hands , same with Dean. John makes me want to run out of the room in embarrasement.
I'll fight 'ya on the crooner comparison thing.
Perry Como, Al Martino, Tony Bennett, Bing Crosby -- are a just a few of the old crooners who you didn't mention and there's more !
And here's a pop quiz for you. Can you name a FEMALE crooner from the past who made it pretty big ?
Big Band week, he won't even know they are there.
Bary Manilow, well I would love to hear him sing Whatever Lola wants, on second thought no I wouldn't.
Amy gave an entertaining performace, itwas fun, and she didn't deserve to be blown off. Pink hair or wierd hair didn't stop Nikki last year until the end,
You mean Nikki McKibin in season 1 right ? People went crazy when she outlasted Tamyra. I kind of liked her too.
I feel like our votes are going nowhere, like for Clay last year.
What a dismal thought.
One good thing, my home boy George! He rocked, I see him going to the finals. He has talent and can sing anything
Anything ? What anything ? George was singing in the genres that were perfect for him 2 out of 3 weeks -- Soul and Motown ! Although he did pretty well ... he is the one who should have knocked it out of the park and I don't think he did.
He has a nice sexy voice that's a little different than what's out there.
And I do like George's personality which will help get him further with his singing. IMO.
I absolutely hated that crummy terry-towel throw out.
Totally inapproriate no matter how you look at it.
Well I have vented enough.
Me too. But -- I really enjoy jousting with the strong
With both Wonder Woman and The Queen here -- I guess don't stand a chance. . |

As I said upthread somewhere,I think these kids vote until their fingers bleed.
Personally, I wish it was limited to one vote per phone which would be more fair. But they are making $ LOTS $ of money from that Text-vote thing which is not free ... so they'll never do that.
So ... it is really a contest of who has the most dedicated and willing to vote fan base. The producers hope this will evolve into a fan base that will $ BUY $ the CD's.
It's not so much about music and talent than it is about business and $$$$$$$$$$$$

How about Dinah Shore, Doris DAy, Who sand the little doggie in the window? She was a crooner, Jo Stevens oh it was Pati Page who also sang Thw Tennesse Waltz.
Would these f emales qualify obaf?

He will watch him. remember this guy is from New Orleans and can do anything Kidding, but he has a lovelty range unlike your Crooner who is not crooning

Not in the "true" crooner sense.
I was thinking of someone else that nobody ever thnks of or realizes was a female "crooner" and sort of brought it back.
Not recent ... but more recent than the ladies you mentioned.

I do like George, but as said, the odds were in his favor and honestly ... I thought he should have done better, -- really -- I expected him to do better.
I will expect John to do better in a different genre and if he doesn't I know you'll lasoo me and hang me from the INR banner !
John has talent but doesn't have that explosive personality and style that George does. And because he doesn't SHOW enthusiasm ... it's hard to generate enthusiasm.
Crooners and their songs are more easy and "mellow" than explosive ... know what I mean ?
They BOTH have good voices -- just different. |

Ron ... I'm not sure about anything because they all seem to overlap - Soul, Blues, Motown.
I think you are right though. I looked it up and it was in 1957, but Cooke was around later with other songs.
