Army Chief: Arafat in Israel Crosshairs

Israel's army chief suggested Tuesday that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah would eventually be assassinated by Israel.

The army chief, Lt. Gen. Moshe Yaalon, was asked whether, after Israel's killing of Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin, Arafat and Nasrallah would be next.

"I think that their (Arafat's and Nasrallah's) responses yesterday show that they understand that it is nearing them," Yaalon said.

"In the long term, I hope that this will be a sign to all those who choose to hurt us that this will be their end," Yaalon said.

Arafat's aides said Monday the Palestinian leader was concerned he could now be in Israel's crosshairs. Israel's Cabinet decided last year that Arafat should be "removed," but never said whether this meant killing him and never acted on the decision.

It was not clear what response by Nasrallah the army chief was referring to.

Ye right. Kill Arafat. How stupid can you get.

Why would that be stupid?

Because its going to create even MORE violence from the Palestinians, well see what happens, i dont give a dam, if he dies, but i do care about the Hezbollah leader.....

Of coarse I have no idea why you would support Hezbollah considering they are linked to a lengthy series of terrorist attacks against America, Israel, and other Western targets, but it doesn't surprise me. What about Hamas? How 'bout Fatah? That means conquest by way of jihad BTW. Do you view them favorably also?

No here you are mistaken, devilsdog. Killing Arafat would only:

- cause a third and greater intifada
- cause world outrage
- world condemnation of Israel, AGAIN
- much more hate from Arab countries
- more hate directed against Israel
- more terrorist attacks

Killing Arafat would definitely not be a good thing for Israel.
