| browser: for INReview, i just use internet explorer. if i'm goint to have 10 or more browser windows open, nothing beats avant!
i use iTunes for my music. play, rip, burn, buy, transfer to my iPod. i love it.
i use Filehound for my download manager. no fuss, no muss. it's the most straight-forward, no frills download manager i've ever come across. been using it for years.
nero for burning data discs.
winDVD for my dvd player.
ad-aware
norton anti-virus
if i want to get really get into graphics i use photoshop, but for general use i use a program called irfanview. it's not the most spectacular piece of software but it handles both pics and movies and does a good job resizing/resampling as well as renaming multiple files.
obviously i don't use it all the time, but partitionmagic comes in handy.
i used to use winzip but have recently converted to zipgenius. very good little compression program. nice interface, good integration with windows. easy to use like winzip. i guess i was just in the mood for something different.
and i love DX-Ball 2. it's a 'breakout', 'arkanoid' style game. very fun. it's old but still a good game. and every once in a while i break out 'nesticle'.
and the old standard, TweakUI.
and last but not least, Zone Alarm of course.
just a small sampling of apps i run on a regular basis as well as some old favorites. i think all the ones i linked to are free. dx ball isn't free, but has an unlimited use demo. same thing for filehound, it's shareware but no time limit. | |
