The next theme night is Country. What should they sing?

OH YEAH! This is the ONE night that I've wanted!!

I would like to see some Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Toby Keith songs!!! They all have some great selections to choose from.

Oh, and Garth Brooks too.

I think one of the girls will sing "How WIll I Live". I hope that it is Diana or Amy. I like Leann Rhimes version the best.

Yes, Leann sings it MUCH better than Trisha Yearwood.

Ohhhhhh, how about a Wynona song?

Well, I love Wynonnas voice, but I don't know hardly any songs.

I can see Matt Rogers doing "Friends In Low Places" by Garth Brooks.

Amy could belt out a Shania tune. What do you think?

John Stevens is going to have a rough week. I think we need him to go back to the 70's or 80's and pick a song that was sung by someone like Charlie Pride.

Well, I think that he could also do something by, ummm... Waylin Jennings.

Or Ronnie Milsap.

Ohhhhhhhhh... that could be hard for him to pull off.
How about doing an old Willie Nelson song? Or Kenny Rogers?

Matt Rogers should sing "Devil Went Down to Georgia". He really could do a bang up job on that one.

Speaking of Idol, what do you guys think of Simon Cowell?
I've always wanted to ask American fans of the show what they thought of him. Some of you may know that the 'Pop Idol' TV format was originally co-formulated by Simon Cowell. The show was first televised in the UK a few years ago and proved to be such a hit that the format was reproduced in dozens of countries around the world. Mr. Cowell has become very rich because of it.
In the UK, he is generally hated by everyone (sort of like JR in Dallas in the '80s - people simply love to hate him). In fact, a Member of Parliament put in a motion to stop him from being so nasty to contestants! And I'm not joking.

I'm a big fan of Shania Twain. She appeared on UK telly last year on several occasions on an Idol-rival talent show on the BBC called 'Fame Academy' as a guest vocal coach. Maybe she has something against Idol.

I am hoping that country won't be that tough for John Stevens. He does have to stay true to himself, but I would think country lends itself to choices of a lot of songs that he can sing in a "croony" way.

Diana could do that too ... but I think she needs to do something slower and I agree "How will I Live" would be great. I guess "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" (for Diana who's from Snellville, GA ) would be bad, huh ?

Oh yeah... I can see JPL doing Achy Breaky Heart. I just hope that he doesn't do the moves that Billy Ray Cyrus did when he did that song/video. It was ghastly.

Well mystic... they sing big band music too. That's not pop.
I think that they are trying to see if the contestants came perform a variety.
That way... you can really get to hear their voices, and the talent (if there is any).

That would be a good song for Amy... she's got the vocals for it.

Well We are down to *8 and I have yet to really hear a Country country song.dang with all the great singers, country out there one would think they could come up with a real real country song. Do you think these kids never heard of Vince Gill or Cliint Black or Garth Brooks.
