Group Numbers and Cheesy Commercials

Just a place to discuss the weekly Group production numbers and the Cast Commercials.

Last season they had a "vote" for fave commercial.


Last night, 3/17

- We saw our first cheesy group "commercial" of the season done to the tune of "Fame", with JPL in a banana suit.

The casting couldn't have been more perfect.

JPL is now officially our dancing banana


- Before we got to the results, we saw our 12 finalists pay tribute to Wednesday's theme in a group medley of singing/dancing "Soul" songs, such as "Shake A Tailfeather", "Soul Man", "Respect", and "I Need You".

Was it good/bad ? Who stood out ?

- What did YOU think of the video of the group moving into the mansion ? And what do you think of the Idol House in general ?

I thought that it was completely stupid. I've never like the commercials they do. They are cheesy, and make each one of them look like a dork... a sell-out.

I just don't think that these group numbers and commercials promote talent.
I want to see the talent... not some made up piece of crap.

i think that there isn't a better person on that show to play a dancing bannana (not ment as an insult i think Jon peter Lewis should win!) he has the best personality he is soo funny

As stupid as those things are.... I think they're hilarious! I dunno, there's just something about watching them all let loose and goof off... not to mention JPL in a banana suit... that's just great.

I think those commercially thingies are kind of ridiculous... but hey, they provide ME with entertainment so let ridicouless-ness roll on!

Hold on did they do one for the country week? and what was it like?? I think i missed it if it was on...???

Was it an Old Navy commercial.

I think the commercials are important to see how your Idol will be doing other things. Not that I would want to see them in an Old Navy commercial.

I'm just imagining what they would do for the motown ones... it should be fun!
