The reason they are not there - because we want the pictures posted IN the forum - graphic pictures are censored if they are posted and not linked.

How come they can show that on AlJazeera ? dont they live from soap advertising like "independant TVs" Fox news and CNN ?

The Government censors graphic materials because of the Effects all children. so they say. Much like knocking the graphic nature out of "Saving Private Ryan" when shown on Public TV. Though they didn't do it, that's just an example because of the Reenactment of D-Day is pretty graphic.
Also, Arab Television is basically showing one side of the story while we hear from Both sides. Some people will say our media doesn't, but my local news has shown graphic pictures late in the evening. Say 0030 or 0130 in the morning.

Yes, it does show both sides of the story - there are pictures of the dead just not blown up yet. honestly, if you want to see them ask marc to post 'em.
Perhaps you would like to show your 10 year old pieces of people strung every where but I would not.

The thread contains images of hungry civilians, wounded civilians, and dead civilians.

Open your eyes and you will see what it is you are after.

The difference? They're not explicit, graphic CRAP that some of you people think is necessary to strengthen your arguement. I beg to differ with you. I don't need to spend a week fraternizing with a heroin addcit to know that some drugs can cause terrible after-effects.

Anyone with access to the Internet has had the ability to seek out such images since the beginning. What so many of you shove down our throat has become highly unnecessary in the manner in which you parade it. If people want to see these images in the context of this war, they will find them elsewhere in the many thousands of threads folks like you litter this forum with.

Now - if this thread stays alive - are we proving that you cannot think?

Other than keeping embedded images from popping up in the faces of the members here after they click on deceiving titles, we don't censor these threads. We consolidate them into one thread that offers the same images that some of you post over and over and over again. It gets old.

I have half the mind to ban anyone who continues to post these images, for in the name of efficiency and keeping this forum from becoming a mess of repetitive bull sh*t, we don't need people around who only will offer what has already been highlighted. So, do me a favor and offer something a little more original than these gore shots you hold so close to heart. I also have half the mind (the other half) to ban those who think we're going to censor them - as I feel we should deliver on what you're asking for. Cease the flapping of your gums and don't accuse us of censorship when it's something we try very hard not to do.

arg, i have so many more important things to deal with.

Guess what folks. All wars have produced pictures such as these. I don't know of any war that has not had civilian casualties. BTW, show me the link that shows the gore of 9/11. There isn't one, because the pieces where too small to photograph!

I wonder how many of these injured and dead believed they where not in harms way because of Iraqi TV telling them they are winning the war?

I agree with the gentleman that said, anyone can get both sides of the story if they take the effort to seek it out. God, the internet is the greatest (and worst) resource we have. I have never watched a Newscast and blindly accepted it! We have brains, let us use them!

Flame away.

Are you serious..? You can't understand the difference between a two-bit TV station with 40 employees and a world-class network with thousands of employees? You can't understand that capitalism demands that positive cash flow supports such a machine? You can't understand that soap advertising represents positive cash flow?

theses images are indeed really shocking.
i m not sure if it s better hide or show them...i often choose not to follow the links, but sometime i do, we have to see what s happening.
but there is one thing i m certain so far, it s the very good work done by the moderators. everyone is allowed to write what they think, whatever side they are on. the only times i watched them censor were when namecalling became to straigh.
thanks for this forum when we can share different views.

Of course not ! I was not serious, that was a note of irony !

But I'm glad you clear it up. World-class network DO NEED positive cash flow.

And the problem is that the way they present the news could have a strong influence on this cash flow, and also on their shareholder's reaction.

"Should we present these anti-war arguments ? How will react our shareholders ? How will react our advertisers ?"

That's why I think that these media are not independant, although they are not state-owned.

Idea : why not presenting a poll on the independance of the media regarding this war ?

It was'nt my intetntion to shoot at this forum, and i can apreaciate that you dindt closed it.

I really cant understand how so many people here and in other places justifies this war by saing that were killed so many people in 911?... This is true and sad, but is not a good cause to kill other inocent people, this is not a PCgame!!, you dont just gain high scores by killing ...
