Whoa... don't you think they are going a little over board there.

I wonder if Massachusetts lawmakers looking to ban gay marriage but allow civil unions will lobby for equal priviledges for those civil unions.

California marriage is "on hold" the court refused to define marriage or to decide if the marriages performed were illegal or not.

Massachusetts has to agree on a ban again this legislative session, and again in 2005-2006 before it can be put to a vote in 2006. A lot can change in 2 years.

There was the saddest picture in the newspaper this weekend of a lesbian couple. They got half way through filling out their application form for their marriage liscence as they planned on getting married at the town hall or whatever there. Half way through filling it out they were told to stop because of this ruling not allowing any more gay marriages. The picture was of them hugging with tears just streaming down their faces.

Imagine that, you finally get a chance to marry your life partner who you have been with for 40 years and you go and get everything sorted out only to be told you are 10 minutes late and can't get married any more.

It was heart breaking.
