Iraq troops put the women and kids on that van

Iraq troops kidnaped the familys of the people on that van that was fired on at the checkpoint. And told them that if they did not speed and not stop their familys what was left of them would be killed!! They were hand picked by the Iraq troops and put on that van to DIE. Because they knew we would shoot.

That's quite a theory you have there..

Any mother would take any chance she had to save her children, they would most certainly have stopped if they had even the remotest chance of saving there children, no, it is much more likely that we opened fire without warning and are now trying to concoct a believable scenario to take the light off the fact that our troops did not take enough care.

You are stupid! I guess they are not killing people who wont fight and useing women and kids as shields neither! They are putting weapons and troops in class rooms with kids!

And mothers will still do anything, GIVEN THE CHANCE! to save their kids. This is so simple. Sometimes our government and media lie to us.

The US troops killed unarmed mothers and children. The mothers didnt even get a chance to try and save their children, irrespective of how they came to be on the bus.

They were warned and even fired on but still didnt stop. makes ya wonder what they were really told huh. Military checkpoints should be clearly identified in the Iraqi language. There was no reason for 7 women and children to be shot down like wild animals. Every Iraqi individual does not have a death wish regardless of what the press and the troops would have you to believe. If this war were occurring on American soil maybe our troops would be a little more hesitate to shoot first and ask questions later. Suicide bombers are just another excuse to kill anything that moves...even if its a child. "Good morning Vietnam." Yes I feel badly for the Iraqi people who did not have a choice in this war; but merely caught in the middle of two evils.

Probably that news was coming from that "reliable" and "objective" Fox news - the propaganda channel... Never trust anybody according this "news"...

two questions:

did the van exploded when they have fired ?
did they found any explosive in the van ?

I find it amusing when people claim to "know" something, when they have basically no facts on the situation. There are only a handful of reports on this incident, and all of them conflict with one another.

Well i heard worse lies from the guys goverment. These americans are so manipulated...

THe British press are reporting sources from the British Army who witnessed the attack which say that the van was running towards them and an American soldier without a warning shot opened fire on the van. THe British army also report that their job in Basra and Um Qasr was made more difficult because American soldiers were shooting everything that moved which isnt very conducive to winning friends... I suppose the Brit soldiers are just liberal lefties...

Accidents in war happen and this was tragic. Its terrible when things like this happen but its made even worse when people try to lie to cover it up. Im waiting for the story about them all shooting themselves just to blam our boys...shame on you...

Just keep an open mind to the situation. Just because you support the US dosn't mean that every action they could possibly make is justified, or that they are never at fault for something. I support this strike, but I think that what happened at the road block could have easily been the result of a hasty reaction on the part of the marines. In such a tense situation, it certanly is possible. On the other hand, I wouldn't put it past the Iraqi government to deliberately inflict civilian casualties on its own side and blame it on the coallition.

The fact however is that at this point in time there is simply not enough information to draw any kind of conclusion either way. All we know for sure is that yet another tragety has occured in this war, and unfortunately it will not be the last.

Here we go again with all of you anti war whiners and you have all your little ideas but the fact remains the same they were warned and continued toward the checkpoint. Iys war and war is pretty but is necessary to free an oppressed country and people. You all sit back in your fat chairs,rubbing your fat belly and passing judgement on the usa but i see nothing of the horrible things saddam has done and is still doing. Soon all of you saddam symphisizers will see the real truth of how saddam and his regime ran iraq.
