1. Homosexuality is not natural -- you know, much like eyeglasses, polyester, indoor plumbing, and birth control.
2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. As we all know, infertile couples and old people shouldn't be able to get legally married because, after all, the world needs more children to increase its population of six billion plus.
3. Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children -- after all, straight parents only raise straight children, right? Right?
4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage is allowed. I mean, Britney Spears' 55-hour marital romp was so deep and meaningful.
5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all, right? (Oops -- I kinda forgot about "women are property," "blacks can't marry whites," "only husbands can initiate divorce" and "birth control is illegal.")
6. Gay marriage issues should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities. (Say, didn't we vote on Brown vs. the Board of Education? Huh? No?)
7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion should always be imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America -- the one true religion, you know. (Just ask Jerry Falwell.)
8. Gay marriage will make people gay -- much in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. (Oh, and my preacher told me this.)
10. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden by law to raise children.
11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms -- after all, we haven't adapted to things like horseless carriages or doubled lifespans or men walking on the moon or anything like that.
12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools and water fountains for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and lesbians will.

I think all of that is complete
Homosexual (don't say gay because then some wise guy would be saying your happy ) people should be able to marry. Our society has to adapt. I think it is just part of evolution of human. Marriages should be able to be performed and nobody should stop them. If it makes people happy then it’s good. If people are happy then they work better and it makes America more "united." when the gay marriage law passes to make it legal then more people will support the government. The people who are against it have to come to their senses that they cannot stop it and it is inevitable. Change is inevitable and should have been expected many years ago.

I think these two are my favorites. "Cause we all need to be like Britney with our highly reverent morals. And I really want to be taller.

#8 is probably the best out of them. I know some homosexual people and i am not at all being transformed into a homosexual. They are really nice and some of them you can't even tell if they are homosexual or not. I find they are even nicer than regular heterosexual people. You could say they are "gay" (happy) with there life.
Chodder, sure, you can choose who you want to be with. But, I can't MAKE myself WANT to be with a guy. Does that make sense? Just like you... you look at women, and there is your attraction. It's the same for me.
Exactly... and let me tell you, it would be so much easier to be straight. Trust me.
Who WANTS to be gay... to be treated different. To have people look at you funny, or speak to you/about you in such angry and mean ways. To be beaten up by people who think that they are better than you, who don't understand you, who only have something to prove. To be ridiculed. To have religious fanatics call you an abomination. To have very little rights as a couple.
I can go on, and on, and on... but, I think that you get the picture.
I completely understand the hatred that is involved. I think that people need to find a more productive way of transforming their time from hatred to good. Making fun of people for their way of life or style is wrong. The person doesn’t even have to be homosexual. They could have a zit on their nose and be ridiculed by many. Someone could be poked fun of the way they dress. You don’t have to be homosexual to be the target of hatred. I hope this makes you feel better KJ
Oh, I know it, Chris... but, people aren't HATED for a zit, or beat up because they aren't wearing the latest style. You do have a point though. People are too quick to judge and hate. When, we should all just be so much more loving, in general.
Hmm... Then do you think it should be legal? If you had a buddy who wanted to have a gay marriage would you say, “Hey go for it” and give them support? Or just kind of mind your own business and not really care. Just wondering to see what other people think about this subject.
What if you had to choose a side? Your life depended on this one decision and you cannot be neutral. You must pick one side or else. What side would you pick?
I think I found the Britnet Spears one to be my favorite................. her 1/2 marriage inspired me to tie the knot to Joshua for just as long
And yes I agree with Chodder, change is inevitable................so for those of you who don't like it, get used to it............... same-sex marriages WILL BE legal someday.............. and I for one will happy by it
