A trailer containing two banned al Samoud missiles has been uncovered south of Baghdad.

The missiles were found in an area that had just been brought under Coalition control.

Before the war broke out Iraq was forced to destroy a number of al Samoud missiles that had been found by United Nations weapons inspectors.

The missiles were able to hit targets beyond the 92-mile range permitted.

Embedded reporter Rick Leventhal described how the missiles were on the trailer at the side of a road, hidden under a tarpaulin.

"I'm told they can carry chemical weapons. Marines tested the missiles and stated they were fine," he said.

Iraq is believed to have had about 120 of the surface-to-surface ballistic missiles.

Although some of the weapons have now been destroyed, the bulk of them may still be in the hands of Iraqi rocket troops.

I think the al samoud's ARE considered WMD which is why they're "illegal" and all..

We knew before the war that he had not destroyed his al-smound, you may recall OUR media reporting that he was in the process of destroying them when we invaded.

Anyway, they dont look as dangerous as ours.

Sean they were considered illegal because they could fly more than 150 km, not because they are WMD.
at least i think so, i have not big knowledge in weapons and i could be wrong.

Unlike the US missiles which can only carry hot air.

there were about 120 declared, and about 90 destroyed the day before the war started .......


Coalition should at least find 30 minus the ones launched if any ....

you should have read and listen what the U.N. inspectors wrote and said about the Al Samoud .....

I forgot that the troops are at ...... 50 miles - 80 km from Baghdad ..... for 7 days .....

1st: US coalition invades Iraq before Hans Blix is allowed to finish his job,

2nd: US coalition sends tons of "smart" bombs on Iraqis towns,

3rd: independant TV channel sky news shows 2 poor al Samoud missiles that "could" carry chemic charge.

conclusion : Iraq HAS WMD and this war is just !


Dont the US feel ridiculous ?
- what damage did the Iraqi missiles thrown at the beginning of this war ? could you call that a WMD ?
- what is the power of destruction of these al Samoud compared to a US missile ?
- how many US/UK soldiers were killed by these Iraqi "WMD" since the begining of this war?
- how many Iraqi civilians were killed by the US bombs since the begining of this war?

Apparantly the marines are now searching for as many stones as possible just in case they are thrown by the resistance.

A spokesman for the US military said:

"Bruises and abrasions can cause discomfort to our troops, Ihave personally witnessed men with broken finger nails, and what's more all this sand ruins our packed lunch."

The spokesman then went on to say that they had only expected name calling from the Iraqi troops but was interupted when a B-52 mistook him for a bus carrying women and children.
