Yes, you can include wildcard people, but who are your top three so far?

The Fuscia List
1. Lisa Leuschner
2. Katie Webber
3. tie between Matt Rogers and John Stevens

Lisa has the best voice in my opinion, but she has image problems. Katie was the whole package. Matt was an awesome performer and John has a unique voice.

I'm not so eager to watch anymore, but if I have to choose:
1. Katie Webber
2. Elizabeth LeTendre
3. I guess Matt Metzger.

1) John Stevens
2) Jennifer Hudson/Latoya tie
3) Matt Rogers

We'll see about that. The only other people I kinda liked are Elizabeth and Katie. The only thing making me think of continuing to watch is if either one of those two or both stay on the show. The other people's performances just don't really do much for me. Not as exciting for me.

I can't do this right until next week.

Main reason ? ... I have a sentimental favorite:

John Stevens

I so want him to do well that it is clouding my judgement. I watched John interact with the group last night, in the little on stage celebration at the end ? The fact is -- he didn't seem to be able to interact -- not comfortable in his skin.

It looked like a few of the 12 try to pull him in to inlclude him and soon moved away from him as he seemed to not know what to do and how to participate. He's so young !

Then there's my home girl:

Jennifer Hudson

You all know I have liked Jenn from the beginning and I am really glad she's in. I would love to see her and John as the final two. I think she will give LaToya a run. She has a way to go -- especially in the wardrobe department. She's this year's voice with the lack of fashion style and the weird facial expressions.

SO

At this point, I feel ( note I said "feel" and haven't really asserted a darn thing ) that these two have the voices to go the distance. I am not clear on their versatility and I haven't seen the twinkle that is needed.

That being said, at this stage I could just shuffle the rest of the deck, if you understand.

So until next week, I'll go this way reserving the right to re-shuffle, cut and deal again.

* John Stevens

* Jennifer Hudson

* Latoya London: Brings a great voice and stage experience. A lot of polish but sans personality.

- Jon Peter Lewis: I do like Jon's voice, kind of low-rumbley ? He is the group jester, which I think is his little protective facade and he's another facial mugger. I hope he focuses more on delivering with his voice rather than the antics. As Randy said to him -- "you can sing dawg" -- so just sing, Jon.

- Jasmine Trias: Our Hawaiin flower girl. She's a little simpering for me. Good voice .. good enough ? Need more performance and less flower focus. ( She better not be hugging Jon P again or the jealous girly's will vote her off.)

- Matt Rogers: Brings an nice acceptable voice with some warmth, verve and an easy way about him. More will be expected of him, but he has the ability to get around that Group 2 curse. Matt is this season's teddy bear. Not a velvet one, just rag-tag and well hugged.

- Diana DeGarmo: What I remember is a good enough voice and that she brought spark and exuded confidence. Her beauty pageant experience serves her well.

- George Huff: Very nice voice, and note to Simon: I happen to like the Temptations ! George has been Mr. Joyful, Mr. Eager and the Underdog. Now he is no longer the underdog -- everything is even-up !

- Amy Adams: I like this girl -- if only she looked like a girl. She sings/performs really well, but I think she needs to somehow soften her look because she looks old, and that might hurt her in this mix ... really.

- Leah LaBelle: What a little beauty and a wonderful performance in her group -- but after the declines, I am really worried about her longevity in this competion.

- Camile Velasco: The quiet one with the Group 2 curse to hurdle, that is ... being the best of the worst group. She too needs to open up or she's history. She is the only one of the 8 who was not handed the mic last night.

- Fantasia Barrino: Since Group 1, there are others more memorable than Fannie, and her attitude just has to go.

First off, hello all. I must say, the first night the finalist selection began, the very first performance, the very first person to make it to the finalists, Diana Degarmo completely blew me away. I pick her to win and who cares about the rest of them. She brought it and made it look effortless. If I had to pick two more for the last... I believe Latoya will be runner up. She was awesome too but not like Diana. Third, will have to be a tie between George and the kid, what's his name? yeah, John Stevens.

1. Jon Peter Lewis - he's cute, enthusiastic, different and has a great voice. It's about time we have someone different than Choir singers.

2. Matt Rogers - same as above.

3. George Huff - same as above (notice all three are different like Simon said, not the same old boring singers).

4. Jasmine Trias - I thought her version of the song "Inseperable" was GREAT!!.

5. Diana DeGarmo - Great Voice but she really can't sing Soul. I think she'll do better as the show progresses.

6. Amy Adams - Very different, good voice, think she'll stay around for awhile but not be in the top 3.

7. Fantasia Barrino - Has great stage presence, good voice, but bounces too much and I don't think she'll do great in the other singing categories.

8. John Stevens - Sorry, agree with Randy, he's not Sinatra nor Martin. He belongs in a bar.

9. Camile Velasco - picked the wrong song. She has a great voice but needs to have a better personality and not be so stiff.

10. Latoya London - Belongs in the church choir.

11. Leah LaBelle - Okay, but definitely won't make it.

12. Jennifer Hudson - never like her since the day she started crying. She also belongs in the church choir.

Here is my re-shuffled list for this week following the 3/16-17 shows. Comments are in the who should be voted off poll-thread for the 3/16 show.

I know my list is a lot different than most here and that's ok. Maybe I'll dye my hair pink or red, but note ... I'll NOT be putting on a sausage dress.

The parenthetical number to the right of their names was where I had them placed last week ... before their 3/16 performances.

4. John Peter Louis

5 Lotoya

6. Fantasia

7. Matt

8 John S.

9. Jenifer

Maybe it's regional bias, D ?

George is your Lousiana homey and Jenn is my Illinois homey

Jennifer is all over local media here too -- but Chicago has that Northsider (Cubs) - Southsider (Sox) thang goin' on !

John Steven's is in Simon's words "Middle America" so we can share him.

I also have a very soft heart for the underdogs and George is no longer in that category as he has won a lot of hearts.

I may very well be one who is the antithesis of all the little girlies who vote for JPL because he's "cute" and vote for John S because he is a geek ?

Who knows. I likes what I likes and it's all just fun.

As some of us have been doing, I too have re-shuffled my list for this week following the 3/23-24 shows.

My comments regarding their 3/23 performances -- and my ranking of their 3/23 performances -- are in the "3/23 show who should be voted off poll-thread".

I know my list is different than most of the world ... but I shuffle and reshuffle based on a bunch of things. This is my current ranking as of 3/25. Keep in mind please that this is not a prediction, or even neessarily who I think should win.

They are simply MY favorites, and who I most enjoy seeing and who I am rooting for and other than that, their really is not much basis whatsoever

The parenthetical numbers to the right of their names was where I had them placed in previous weeks ... before their, 3/16 & 3/23 performances respectively ... so ... the last parenthetical number to the right was where they were on my favorites list last week.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

1 *John Stevens (1) (2)

2 *Jennifer Hudson (2) (3)

3 *Jon Peter Lewis: (4) (4)

If you find some of the movements or non-movements on my list curious or off the wall ... here is some (sorta') reasoning as to why their positions on my list have changed.

...................

1 *John Stevens (1) (2)

John has been my sentimental favorite throughout. Jasmine's performance last week unseated him, but his inspired song choice, sincere effort, and good performance bumped him right back up.

2 *Jennifer Hudson (2) (3)

Home girl and in my opinion a better singer than the competition. Her downward move last week was simply compression, and again her sincere effort and attempt to "grow" moved her right back up.

3 *Jon Peter Lewis: (4) (4)

No reasoning here. JPL's sub-standard performance on Tuesday should have moved him down ... but my gut tells me the guy is serious about this so he moved up to #3.

4 *Amy Adams: (9) (9)

Well that's a remarkable jump from twin 9's to #4 ... but Amy's performance on Tuesday was kick-a$$ and garnered sufficient respect and admiration from me to move her up.

5 *George Huff: (8) (7)
George, brings a smile with his song, and does what is needed to keep him alive in the competition and so moves steadily up on my list. He seems to have stopped resting on his underdog position.

6 *Jasmine Trias: (5) (1)

Ooops ! Jasmine dropped not only because of the shaky performance ... but the sweetheart with flower got lost in that pained young lady in a "wrong" red dress.

7 *Diana DeGarmo: (7) (5)

Diana doll gifted us with another same-old non-connected performance. Is it real ... or is it Diana ?

8 *Fantasia Barrino: (12) (8)

Fannie held Number 8 because she showed us another "side" albeit only a safe side.

9 *Latoya London: (3) (6)

As Amy rose LaToya fell. LaToya again shows us a canned performance. Her performance preceeded Amy's custom and outstanding job ... and the contrast spoke to me.

10 *Camile Velasco: (11) (10)

Even with her unique voice, Camile fails to bring much evidence of improvement. Next week she either moves up ... or out.

-------------------------

CUT ...

11* Matt Rogers (6) (11)
Eliminated Wk 2, 3/24/04

Matt's main contribution to the competition has been his exuberant and easy personality. It might have carried him another week or two had he delivered on Country Night.

Sadly ... Matt rides off into the sunset, but with a fun send out. He never did make Simon's head bleed ... and maybe now his nightmares about him will stop.

12 *Leah LaBelle: (10)
Eliminated Wk 1, 3/17/04

.2. jasmine

3.George Huff

4. John Peter

5. John Stevens

6. Amy Adams

7.Jennifer Hudson

8. Diana

9/10. Camille

Personal note:

The Judges keep saying this year's talent is the best ever!
How can they say that?
There is no Clay , Ruben,Kimberly Locke.and yes Nikki McKibben

I thought that the Country theme was lame as it didn't feature any really big star's songs. The only one who came close , in my opinion was Matt and he got booted, while Camille sang or tortured Desperado by the Eagles. Country?
No way , Western maybe, but she still tortured that song.

It is dij a Vu time with Camille repacing Susan Rasmusan.

Put her out of my misery please.

Matt showed he was a class act with his gracious departure.

Stil think its terrible to have the loser sing after they know they are going home. Sheer sadistic torture IMO.

D

I agree completely with Camille going home. Take us all out of our torture. My top 3 now are:

I'm sick and tired of the female singers. They all sound the same and as I've said before some of them just belong in the Church Choir.

I dont think either of the 2 J's (JPL, John S) will be in the final 3.

My final 3 at this stage goes as follows:

1 - Latoya ... she does enough each week to get through and produces great when the style is her liking. Looks to be a comptetive person who will battle til the end... also very classy and confident.

2 - George ... he's got a great character and is so genuine as well. was a bit luke warm with him to start with but he definitely goes out each week to enjoy himself and to entertain the public and that comes out in his performances - i'm really looking forward to what he might sing next week... so he's converted me already and may do so with many others.

3 - This is a tough call but it'd be between Jasmine and Fantasia.
I thought it would be Jasmine and it may well be cos she has a great voice but that flower may just start to wilt unless she shows progression in character with her performances. Then again Fantasia's arrogance seems to be growing and that is not a good thing at all and that could be what will hurt her in the end. Maybe too childish at times.
So i guess I'll go with Jasmine.

The rest of the positions:
4 - Fantasia
5 - Amy
6 - JPL
7 - Jennifer
8 - Diana
9 - Camille
10 - John S

yep i think John S will be next out but thats based on next weeks theme! Thats if Camille performs ... and unfortunately that could well be a BIG if!

Reply To this Message

Posted by: hottest_of_pink

1- John Stevens... he so sweet, original, and he just plain old has a beautiful, manly voice.
2. Jon Peter Lewis... for weeks I was torn between him and John... but based on performance and personality... I have to say he has slid down to second in my affections... though I still love him and want to see quite a bit more of him.
3. Jennifer Hudson... sadly I don't I'll be seeing much more of her... but she has an incredible voice... on of the better ranges in the group... and seems very nice and thankful to be there... which is good.
The Rest-
4) LaToya London
5) Fantasia Barrino
6) Jasmine Trias
7) Amy Adams
8) Diana DeGarmo
9) Camille Velasco
10) George Huff

But I must say that none of these lovely indiviuals compare in talent or performance to my forever baby, Clayton Holmes Aiken!

I allotted points based on where we placed them.

This way:

1st = 3 points
2nd = 2 points
3rd = 1 point

Here's what we have:

13 Points -- JPL

12 Points -- John S IV

6 Points -- George

3 Points -- Jasmine

3 Points -- Jenn

3 Points -- LaToya

1 Point -- Diana

So, I didn't mind. I tried, periodically, until I finally got through. And hour later, and I did 30 votes for her.

I read somewhere that one of the producers or Ryan said that votes that come in before the lines open or after they close may seem to be going through ... and they know people do that ... but they are NOT COUNTED. Only the votes in the 2 hour announced time block are counted.

Hmmmmm !

Phooey I hate when this stuff starts coing out, Then they announce that a gazillion votes came in . Its like the Carrosal ride at the Zoo, round and round we go, at the whim of the producers.

I also heard tonight that the"Mansion" was being attacked by termites and the contestants refused to rehearse in such an enviorment.

2. Jon Peter Lewis - what the heck is he doin' on the show. he should get lost!
3.Amy Adams - she stole scootergrl's song!!!!!!!! revenge!
4. Jennifer - she doesn't seem 2 happy 2 be on the show

My fav top 3 are:

1. John Stevens - he's HOT and has a unique and HOT voice
2. Diana - she's an amazing grl 4 her age. her voice is already professional sounding.
3. George - he's always got a smile on his face. it turns the viewers on.

I also have a number 4: Jasmine Trias - she is happy, cute, and a great singer. wat more do u want?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

My cumulativeRank

Jenn
John Stevens
George
JPL
Jasmine
Latoya
Fantasia
Diana

I know you all think I'm nutzo ... but this is just how it's all added up for me thus far.

Whether it makes sense or not here's why:

Jenn: Most Powerful Pipes

John Stevens: Unique Diamond in the Rough

George: Easy to like, listen to & watch

JPL: Warm and takes performances seriously

Jasmine: Pretty darn good when she's "on".

Latoya: Off the rack Clone

Fantasia: Mush Mouth smug Diva

Diana: Off the rack Wind-up Doll.

that was an interesting post.. I agree with you about all except JS, I just don't think one can compare his voice with any of the old timers..

if this is about personality, Fantasia is near bottom of the pack, but she has a good voice so if they are voting voice she will be staying..

in agreement with the person who said she needs to be in the bottom three to maybe quell some of that attitude.

OBAF, I agreed with all but two of yours.

I think it is outstanding that there is no single clear-cut favorite and that there is so much diversity of opinion this season.

Last year there was NO doubt as to who the Top 3 should be

And everybody was really rooting for one right from the start.

In a way though, I AM waiting for some magnificent metamorphisis (sp ?) and it better happen darn soon, because like Delta ... I don't think this year's crop has thus far "raised the bar". No way. None of them.

See out of my top 3, I knew Diana was the only one who could of made it to the winner circle and I wish she did....Also I love Diana's voice 4-ever and ever but I think Latoya was just unbeliveable this season....I thought she should of won over Fantasia

After seeing all of them live, I disagree with both Diana and Fantasia being the top two. Both of then shouted their songs, and I just was not impressed at all. Latoya, however, blew me away. As did Amy, George, and John. When John can sing his style, he is AMAZING. Of course, I also loved JPL. So my new revised top 3 are Latoya, Amy and George for overall appeal, and for me personally, JPL, Amy, George.

well I always thought that Latoya should of won, she had an unbelieveable voice......I guess though, I'll have to wait to see them live....I mean I have heard Diana live before but maybe it was just an off night for them two...anywho....

if all of you thinks that jasmine trias should have not included in the top three cause some of you tells that she can't sing then at the audition she should have not been accepted ryt? why were your american idols didn't make. there's a good answer to this question and you wanna know what? jasmine trias all along with the american idol contestants, she only has the most unique voice cause all the way she gives her very best and we filipinos are very proud of her though she didn't make it the champ. being on the top 3 is every filipino's pride. she didn't have to be the champ just for us to make proud of her......

Jasmine was good....but she was out of her game when she went head to head with Diana and Fantasia but if you ask me...I would have wanted Fantasia gone because then Diana would have won hands down
