I can't believe no one started this thread.....

I just came back from a GREAT home-cooked dinner featuring a whole array of Chinese food. (my mom loves experimenting, tomorrow, Italian!)

What's your favorite food?
And what food do you just HATE?
or something you like pertaining to food favorites and hates......

I hate it when people say they have tasted Chinese food when really it's chinese contorted by the sweet american style (meaning no offense!). boy, if they have ever been to Hong Kong or Guang Zau or somewhere in China, you have tasted better.... *drool* I still remember the food..... wanton here sucks. it's so different.

favorite food: Thai, Chinese, French, Italian, Vietnamese (sp?), .......

I have fixed it before -- rather good. But I had to tell my guests it was a "new dish" and not tell them what it was until after they ate it and liked it.

Thats the way it was presented to me I was young and didn't know better. It was pretty good if I recall. It was in Pennsylvania, in the "sticks". I don't suggest employing that method on some, though!!!
I now fancy things a little more " normal" Macaroni Grill has a dish called Penne Rustica. Yum! It is my current favorite.

Actually, you boil the cow's tongue to whiten and toughen the skin of the tongue. Then you remove the skin, cut up the meat inside and sear both sides before cooking it in a sweet & sour flour & grease gravy (using basil leaves, malt vinegar lemon slices and a few other ingredients).
