I've seen the wonders in the faces of youth
Their amazement when they learn something new
Their uncontrollable laughter at a new joke told
Their fearlessness of never growing old
I've watched in awe and envious observation
How children love without reservation
How they're blinded from elderly prejudice
How they practice without preaching tolerance
Superficial ideals are not born to them
Before they're corrupted, everyone's a friend
To view a world free of evil and lies
Just look at it through a child's eyes
You'll a stranger not as a threat
But rather as a friend you haven't met
In adulthood we search for spiritual truth
Yet we're closer to God when we're in our youth
Only then did we know true love and shine
For the evils of man hadn't entered our minds
