In New York Times,March 28
Nicholas De Genova told a anti-war gathering he would like to see "a million mogadishus"
This was at a wed. night teach-in on the Columbia campus.
He also called for the defeat of the U.S. forces in Iraq and said "The only true hero's are those who find ways that help defeat the U.S. military" And he also asserted that Americans who call themselves Patriots are White Supremacists.

It's people like this that make me want to go on a friggin rampage myself.
I for one believe in freedom of speech BUT saying that my brothers and sisters that are fighting so that this idiot can continue to teach needs to die takes it WAY TOO FAR!!!
All who disagree with this idiot needs to write to the Pres. of Columbia Lee Bollinger and let him know how we feel.
I for one believe he shouldn't be teaching anymore, but if he wants to continue to teach i believe he needs to make a formal apology to U.S. on public tv paid for with his own funds.
Here is the post for the New York Times

A friend of mine that goes there told me about it. Does this guy have no brains? He just publicly said that he wanted our troops dead and those who help kill them are heros. What an idiot.

this man should be fired from his job and sent to iraq for what he has said not only is he an embarressiment to the us but to the columbia university and from what i am to understand there not suspose to do that a teacher just got fired for wearing a anti-war pin therefor this prof should also be fired and im going to try to push this as much as i can for this college it is an outrage and an insult to the people of the united states and to all colleges all over the usa no matter what you think people like him should always hold up the most respect for the us and goverment. Craphes a teacher of one of our schools and shouldnt fon any reason or cause be allowed to do something like this, a code of ethics so i say fire him for what he has said and people get behind me you want all your kids taught like this whats next huh? think about it send e-mails to the college about him asking for his resignation, un-american dont want a un-american teaching my kids a real concern here people

If he can't say what he wants, what kind of "FREEDOM" are they fighting for? The freedom to agree with Peabrain Bush?

In other words, you only want "right thinking" Americans to teach? If he had spouted off completely in line with Bush, that would have been OK, right?

I could respect your opinion, if you also scolded and demanded the firing a Bushite believer who did the same thing, but I doubt you would do that.

Im sorry to say the guy should be given a statue... How verry true. The Arab world sees you as invaders. Go home or die there in the hot dessert. Nobody in the arab world believes your propaganda. A few mogadishus would just do the trick. Your troops are murderers. Just a bunch of murderers...

So in other words, YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN FREEDOM of speech? So if that IDIOT Bush, believes as you do, and I think he does, all his speeches about "liberation" ring hollow. And YOU my friend, ARE A HYPOCHRITE! Because if you believe in freedom of speech, you have to believe in it for anybody, anytime or any opinion or your just fooling yourself.

The teacher will not be punished for speaking his opinions. He will continue to teach and live in the U.S. and raise his family and not have to worry about having his tongue cut out and left to die in the city center.
We have a saying here. "Opinions are like *** holes, everyone has one".
Just like opinions on this forum.

Exactly, just like your opinions.

Exactly. And I won't lose my tongue for my opinions either.

So it sounds like you're insinuating that in current day America, you can "lose your tongue" for your opinions if you're not careful? That's why Bush sucks and I want him gone.

NothingSacred,
We don't cut out tongues because of opinions unlike Iraq and Pakistan and Afghanistan and Iran.

Apparently you CAN'T grasp or comprehend that concept in your twisted little pea brain. You are too busy trying to justify Saddam’s murderous ways with your twisted view of the world.

It is typical of you to twist what is said. How much do you twist reality in your own posts? There is nothing believable in your fundamentalist attitude statements. You are truly brainwashed by the media and can only disseminate what your few brain cells allow and you spew out the irrational rhetoric. This will be the last time I review your left wing drivel.

There's nothing at all left wing about my beliefs. The main advocate for what I believe DICK HEADZ Bush and Cheney went to war for is none other than Pat Buchanan...there's a left winger for you.

And who's supporting Saddam? I'm not. I'm just saying that he's no threat to us. And this war is a waste of time and money.

And don't worry, maybe we don't cut out tounges yet, but I'm sure YOUR HERO, that IDIOT, anti-Freedom A-hole Bush will make that a part of Patriot Act III.

NothingSacred ,
So, your point of view is really about money.
How shallow.
And if Saddam doesn't affect you, who cares?
How selfish.

You really are "NothingSacred".
