These are comments regarding the American soldiers by British soldiers. With the "extraordinary level of precision" of the American weapons, how can anybody believe that they can minimise civillian casualties if they cannot even stop blowing up their own allies?. "Friendly fire" is a term invented by the Americans for an unbelievable level of incompetence within their military.
Lance Corporal Gerrard said: "All this kit has been provided by the Americans. They've said if you put this kit on you won't get shot.
"We can identify a friendly vehicle from 1,500 metres [4,921 ft].
"You've got an A-10 with advanced technology and he can't use a thermal sight to identify whether a tank is a friend or foe. It's ridiculous.
"Combat is what I've been trained for. I can command my vehicle. I can keep it from being attacked. What I have not been trained to do is look over my shoulder to see whether an American is shooting at me."
I think at this point it is relevant to point out that 1 of the vehicles attacked by the Americans had a "DIRTY GREAT BIG UNION FLAG ON IT"
Lance Corporal Gerrard also criticised the pilot for shooting when there were civilians so close to the tanks.
"There was a boy of about 12-years-old. He was no more than 20 metres [65.6 ft] away when the Yank opened up. There were all these civilians around.
"He [the pilot] had absolutely no regard for human life. I believe he was a cowboy. He'd just gone out on a jolly."
He added: "I'm curious about what's going to happen to the pilot.
"He's killed one of my friends and he's killed him on the second run."
Trooper Finney, who was hit in the leg when the A-10 made its second attack, said all the British soldiers and their families joked about "friendly fire".
He said: "I got a letter off my dad the day before the attack and it said 'Be careful, come home soon and watch out for those **** Yanks'.

Last time I checked two British helicopters collided, a few of their tanks and soldiers were killed by own. Same with the Americans. Both sides have done the same to eachother.
Mistakes happen and people make mistakes in such situations like war. That is war. Its tough and tiring. Pople make mistakes because of it. Its happened in every war since mankind was alive and thankfully not much anymore.
I found the link. It was last week. You are right, friendly fire does occur from time to time. However, you cannot deny the fact that the US military has had far more incidents of friendly fire than any other nation. The point that is being made is that it is not the fact that friendly fire occurs. It is the fact that friendly fire from American soldiers occurs daily.
When I look at the American attitude, I do believe that this is what is to blame. When you have a society that is tought to not respect human life, then you can understand the idea of "shoot first, ask questions later". You may kill an innocent person, but what the heck, you may kill the enemy. Shoot just in case, rather than hold back, just in case. This is also a basic differentiation in military training between the British and American soldiers, but I do believe that the difference in training stems from the attitude of the society.
Case in point, the death penalty. State sponsored murder, and helping to give the opinion within society that it is ok to murder. The fact that miscarriages of justice will not be reversable, since the person will be dead, does not matter. As long as the guilty are killed, it doesnt matter about those killed that are innocent. Kill, just in case.
This is an incredibly violent society that teaches its children that killing and hurting is good. You can buy an AK47, but you cant smoke a joint. Killing, shooting stuff, breaking things, destruction is good. It is when you look at a society filled with such fear and hatred, I start to feel sorry for Americans. I feel sorry for the fact that the environment is such that this is what they become. My son had his first birthday on 20th March this year. A date which was mired in the fact that it is when GW Bush decided to invade Iraq and kill people. I can only think how happy I am that my Son does not have to grow up in such a hateful society, but feel such dread for the future, given that the decline in American ethics can only get worse with the passage of time. Given the policy of "first strike", and invasion, I also wonder just how long it will be before I too am living in an American society, after the US has run roughshod over every nation in the world.
I completely disagree. There has been very little in way of accidents especially given the enormous scope of the operation.
It would only make sense that the raw total for the USA will be higher than that of UK given the fact that the UK presence is small relative to that of the USA.
It would be interesting to do a 'percentage' on that but I don't all of the numbers at the moment to do so. I'd bet that statistically... USA would have a better rate simply because their divisor is so much larger than that of UK.
Friendly fire accidents are common in warfare, especially large scale. Happened many times on the Eastern front with both the Russians and Germans.. especially Russians. Incidents occured plenty of times, too, with the Allied force in the West.
The issue that is most worthy of note is that statistically it has improved greatly since WWII, and even vietnam. I'll have to hunt down those numbers.

That is completely false. The target was that of a command & control center that several long-range bombers attacked at once. The smoke that covered the section of Bagdhad was not black as is the case with burning oil... the smoke was a light/medium gray color... like a cloud that is ready to dump rain.

If you are a licenced psychiatrist, then you quite clearly were taught in the fifties. It has been long known that Thorazine is indeed a very dangerous drug. Indeed, the effects of Thorazine have been described as a "chemical labotomy", due to their disruption of the functioning of the frontal lobes. The frontal lobes are unique to human beings and are the seat of the higher functions such as love, concern for others, empathy, self-insight, creativity, initiative, autonomy, rationality, abstract reasoning, judgment, future planning, foresight and concentration. Without the frontal lobes it is impossible to be "human" in the fullest sense of the word; they are required for a civilized, effective, mature life. Without this "human" aspect a person is incapable of living a rewarding, happy and responsible life.

But this does not answer the original point, which is that you claim that a drug is totally safe, yet you agree that the effects are described as "Chemical Labotomy". Given the fact that you agree with this point, and given the "fact" that you claim to be a psychiatrist, why would you be prescribing a drug that is so obviously detrimental to your patients mental state?. The role of a doctor is to, as you put it, "help" the patient. Therefore, you are saying that you are not interested in "helping" your patients, rather in subduing the opinions of the patient. This is in direct contravention of the hypocratic oath, whereby you promise to "help" people.

Actually English is my second language. If a made you feel so bad making a spell mistake there SORRY!! And yes I agree that I have fallen to another mistake. I have tried to speak to rambo and at the end we ended on that. I assure you that I will never do the same thing again.
