Thread open to the two winners from tonights show. Please keep your comments on who won to this thread, as some of the mods are out here in California.

Well...the top three...Matt, Fantasia, and Diana..

Well my personal number one and two picks were Fantasia and Diana...(as stated on the other thread)

Im so HAPPY Fantasia made it through...I still think she was the best of all of them last night (IMO).

AND Im really happy Diana made it through....I just thought her performance was top level especially with the fact that she was first,which can be a scary thing!

So Im two for two in the top two....Im really happy my two fav's made it through!!

We voted for Diana, so we are glad she is in the top two. She has a good voice, that's for sure.

Diana was my favorite of those 8. I liked Fantasia and her voice, I can do without the hairdo though. A little to short for my taste.

Yeah, they drew that out a little to much between Diana and Matt. They always do that, but it seemed like they went overboard tonight.

I didn't do so badly myself ... I said that Diana & Fantasia would be put throughs and that I was hopeful for Matt & Jenn as Wildcards .... so ... sorry Katie fans , but I picked the top Four (4) vote getters

IMO, Diana far surpassed Fantasia when they sang tonight. Fantasia swallows words and notes.

So ... I think Matt will be back ( maybe Jenn too ) and unless she stumbles terribly, Diana will outlast Fantasia on the show.

I just presumed that they removed them from the bottom (count) up tonight.

Elimination order was Marque, Ashley, Erskine, which made sense to me ... and then Katie, Jenn) They did eliminate Katie rather unceremoniously, and left Jenn and Matt as the last 2 ... one stays/one goes combo. I am presuming they did it that way tonight because these 2 had the most voting fans waiting anxiously for the "verdict".

I am very happy that Diana is going through. She has an awesome voice.

Fantasia is the new Ruben. She is the one the judges will push onto the public, trying to make her the idol. We need to keep a close eye on the judges comments from now on.

Well, just watched the show... and I wasn't very surprised by the outcome.
Here's my feelings... and Sherry and I have been instant messaging throughout the show:

I think that there is "something" going on with how the winners are going forward.
I don't know if the producers have some 'hidden' system through the phone lines, like keeping certain lines busy, so that you can't get through... and stacking the deck for the two they DO want to go through.

Anyway... there is something about Diana's voice, and I don't know what it is. It bothers me, and I wish that I could pin point what it is. Maybe it's that her voice isn't what I expect from that 'package.'

The judges have made up their minds... Simon said that Fanatacia will be the American Idol. Do you all agree????

Also... I think that I was shocked that Katie wasn't in the top three.

O.K., don't kill me now... but I am not a huge fan of Fantasia. Yes, she is GREAT, but not my favorite.
I was also surprised that Katie was not in the top 3. I thought she was great!

Tonight... before they started talking to the contestants, they asked the judges who they each picked as the two who will go through. I think that they were asked this before the results were called in. I don't know....

Anyway... Simon did say Diana and Fantasia... and that she's going to be the winner.

Congratulations to Fantasia and Diana.

I'm disappointed that Katie didn't make it but I knew that Fantasia deserved to get a seat in the Top 12. I would have put Katie and Fantasia through and given Diana the Wild Card seat.

I just don't understand how Matt could garner more votes than Katie. I agree with Randy on Matt's performance, "It just wasn't good enough for me, Dude."

Mystic... I think that he meant all around winner. That's just how Simon was last year.

I mean, honestly how can people vote for someone who's voice sounds like Macy Gray, she isn't that good of a singer, and I can't believe that the judges actually like her. She wont be getting any votes from me in the Top 12.

Yes, Matt did a pretty good job too. I expect to see him in the wildcard.

I don't know if OBF was certain about it. I think she said she thought that is how they did it because of how they were cut this time and what the reactions were to their performances... but I don't think she was positve. Who knows though!

Well, last season, the seating was random. They didn't always go in a row. But, who knows. I do wish that we could know just how many votes each person received though.

I agree with you about age... it doesn't matter.

And for the record... I've loved LeAnn Rimes since I heard the first note she sang.
That girl has come a LONNNNNG way and her vocals are even better now, 7 years later.

Well, I'm not mad... I mean, it's just a contest. Those are who got the most calls.
Disappointed, yes... but mad, no. No reason to be. Try not to take it so personal.

once again- good point- lol- i should just put my foot in my mouth. yeah- im extremely dissappointed that america would pick her over people as awesome as matt and katie( lol kinda sounds like we are talkin about the today show instead of american idol 3)

I think that you might see one of those two come back... but you just never know.

yeah- i kinda dread the wildcard show though- i mean- thats where my cousin got out of it last year- aliceyn cooney- and it was sooo depressing- i guess im just scared that there will be no one good that i like on this american idol- i mean i dont like fantasia and diana is just alright- i guess id have to see more of her- matt and katie were awesome and i love them both a lot! i just am really really sad about that right now

What is with this Fantasia mania? You have got to be kidding me? I think she has tremendous command of the stage (great stage presence), a unique voice, but she is really one of the worst singers. Idol started off to be a singing contest, finding the best singers(with the best voice qualities). I am not a Macy Grey fan and she sounds like macy, but my contention has always been that macy grey can't sing. She has a unique style but voice quality? I think the idol judges sold fantasia, (I can't wait til she tries to sing a ballad with that voice).
Now Diana, on the other hand I thought was excellent on that night and by going first, she set the bar. I don't think Matt was the best of the men that night but I think the voters went with the tall, slender american image.
The two best voices on that night by far diana and jennifer, but so many of the viewers are influenced by the judges comments and reactions that they don't make thier own choices. Now I hope the next round of contestants get a better
shake from the voters and not the judges. They sold fantasia's performance to america (and we bought it).

I might have to eat crow down the road, but I don't think Fantasia is going to make it that far. IMO there were only 3 good singers in that group. (Diana, Katie and Fantasia)

When they get in the tough competition, Fantasia won't be able to compete. (What do I know, she will probably win the whole thing.)
