Clay will always be 2nd best to me |
| Posted by: PRMaria82 | | Clay Aiken is cool and all. But I heard RJ Helton, my orginal man from the first American Idol, is coming out with a Christian Album. I think that is so fantastic. He was my favorite. Who was your favorite american Idolist? | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: PuNkY bReWsTeR | | It's obvious Clay's my #1 favorite idol by a LONG shot. And he's everyone's too. So how about we put Clay aside for a moment (if any of you can do that) and say who your SECOND favorite idol is from season 2 (next to lovely Clay-boy) and your THIRD favorite idol is from any other idol season, AI1, AI2 or international if you want. This way we can save this thread from getting too boring and add some excitement.
I'll go first!
My second fav idol from season AI2 would be Kimberly Locke. Her rendition of "Over The Rainbow" was better than Tamyra Gray's version. And that's a hard thing to do. Kudos to Kim!
My third fav idol would have to be Jenny Gear from Canadian Idol (which I only watched the auditions and the final three episodes. Even though I support the talent that is Canadian, I found Canadian Idol a little too sugar-coated corny for my liking. Even more corny than Ryan Seacrest's t-shirts of various Idol shows. Yet the boy can carry them off... Yes, indeed) Anyhoo, sorry for the blabbering... Oh yeah. Jenny! The reason why I picked her was she had the best audition I have EVER seen! Better than Clay's on some level. Although she had weird facial expressions when she sang (I'm talking WEIRD) she had an awesome voice, and incredible passion in her performance. My god, she had the judges balling their eyes out!! (She sang Billie Holiday's "God Bless The Child")
There ya go! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: PuNkY bReWsTeR | | Yeah, Ryan is good.. I think the thing that separates Canadian Idol from American Idol is the song writing. With American Idol, the songs on their album were written for them to sing, which was nice. Someone decided to write "so-and-so" a song. How quaint. But Canadian Idol.... They decided to get a team of great Canadian musicians (like the one guy from "The Guess Who" not to be mistaken for "The Who" who are American. To those who live in the US, "The Guess Who" originally wrote and performed the song "American Woman" back in the sixties which Lenny Kravitz later re-released a few years ago. Read the lyrics and you'll find out the true meaning behind the song... lol... hahaha... Go Guess Who! WHOOO!) as well as a few other notable Canadian aritists, as well as allowing Ryan himself to write along with them. He helped put in ideas and basically co-wrote the songs on his album. Now, if only the heads of American Idol will take that into consideration for AI3. And also for Clay's next album. Let them take a stab at songwriting, it will stop people from mistaking them for being marketable hand puppets for their labels. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: PuNkY bReWsTeR | | Which is why I say Clay take a trip to Canada with the tour and learn the ropes on how artists should REALLY be treated. And it's the little things like that that actually make me appreciated Canadian Idol and not look at it as a joke. (Sorry but reality Canadian shows do make me laugh... even though I'm Canadian and I've lived here my whole life... Ah, the talent that is Canadian.. We're not hicks, really.) | | Reply To this Message
