| Posted by: Sandy_Murray | | Denathor, without a doubt... He is evil, malicious, and he is in a position of power amongst the men of Middle Earth, not to mention the fact he is | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Well I am torn between Sauron and the Balrog. I think I will pick Sauron. He is powerful and I find his armour very spooky. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Shadow Stalker | | Witch King...gah the shreik gives me the creeps. i think the Balrog is cool...and Sauron...eh...he's not too frightening... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | I knew you would like the Balrog. He is not too bad, I just would not like being in a cave. Witch King is pretty scary. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Sugarush | | I'd say the Nazgul. When I saw Fellowship for the first time in the theaters I jumped so much from the screech. I think it's the fact that they just wear a dark robe and even though we know what they look like without the hood theres still a small element of mystery behind them. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: lionheart938 | | Shelob......that whole scene when she was attacking frodo and sam totally freaked me out!!!! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Yes it freaked me out too. I conveniently timed a trip to the restroom to avoid as much as I could. I hate spiders. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | The Nazgul are terrifying. Especially in the books and the first movie. Their screech was actually modeled after Fran Walsh (co writer and Peter Jackson's wife). I guess she has a very high pitch scream. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Shadow Stalker | | wow...i never new that...interesting...well i now don't want to have her scream at me.
but yes, in the books the Nazgul are fear and terror personified. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: No Comment | | Shelob because I hate spiders. Besides, Sauron and Saruman are awesome antognists. The Nazgul are cool as well, I would have to say when I read the books, I didn't like Aragorn at all, but he didn't scare me.
But, yes Shelob was the scariest, probably followed by the Witchking, even though he is cool he creeped me out. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Chestnutter | | The Nazgul - the way they shriek, and in the film when Frodo puts the ring on, their faces (if you could call them faces!?) are really scary. I really don't like their flying dragon things either - I preferred it when they rode horses! The Witchking was the scariest though - the way he said "I will break him" about Theoden in RotK ...scary! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: MistyRainWater6 | | You know I would have to say Gollum (even though he is one of my favorite characters), not all the time of course. But most of the time he seems like a good character then all of sudden, he's turned evil, and for some reason that just freaks me out a little | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Chestnutter | | Yeah I agree with you Misty - I find him quite scary too. The way he totally turned Frodo against Sam, and how I really did start to like him in TTT - in ROTK he just turned horrible... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Shadow Stalker | | i found you can tell by how is voice sounds. he has 2 distinct voices. one for the evil Gollum and the other for the pitiable Smeagol. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: MistyRainWater6 | | Wow, thats right now that I think about it he does...I can't believe I didnt notice that, Leave it up to Shadow to point something like that out | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: peregr!n | | I noticed that...Smeagol is more 'strangled' sounding and Gollum is alot more proper sounding...if that makes sense | | Reply To this Message
|
| Posted by: Shadow Stalker | | Gollum's voice sounds much more malicious and hateful. Smeagol's sounds innocoent and (relatively) happy.
and come to think of it...all the Baddies would freak me out if i were to meet them in real life... | | Reply To this Message

Very true. There is an innocent sound to Smeagol. Gollum seems to hiss more as well.

| Posted by: White Tiger | | out of the whole mythologies I would pick Smaug because I was like 6 when I read it and he scared the hell out of me, same with Gollum but the scariest parts of the movie is when the ringwraiths are chasing the hobbits. | | Reply To this Message
