Hi guys,

I was wondering what days the show comes on in North America. Here in Europe we get two AI3 episodes both shown back-to-back at 20:30 on a Friday night.

I presume then that you get two shows every week? Is that correct? What days do you watch them?

This past Friday (on the 6th of Feb) I just saw the episode where Scooter girl is ejected from the show and also the episode before that).

I'm asking because I want to know if I'm deleyed, and if so, by how much, also it would be interesting to know when the show does go live in North America.

Thanx guys, Firenze.

Hello Firenze,

During the past few weeks of auditions, we've had two or three shows each week. But now that we are down to the Final 32 contestants, we will only have only one show per week.

The next show is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, at 7:00 pm MST. That's 1900 hrs Mountain Standard Time or 0200 GMT Wednesday, 11 February.

This next show will present the first group (of eight contestants) and then we will have a period of time to vote for our favorites. The following Tuesday, February 17, we will have the second group of eight contestants and we will also learn who won the voting from the first group.

Be sure to check out the American Idol homepage. Here is a link:

Is that how it will work this year scout ? For some reason I have not been able to download that IOF site. If my browser was a car, my starter would be shot by now

firenze ... Last year, the "regular season" beginning with the Groups of Eight eliminations had a one hour Performance Show on Tuesday evenings at 19:00H and a 30 minute Results Show the next evening (Wednesday) also at 19:00H. So two days in a row, Tuesday 19:00-20:00 the performance, Wednesday 19:00-19:30 the results of the vote from the previous evening.

From what scout said ... it seems this schedule may change, but will wait for him to confirm or clarify.

I'm not sure if the actual broadcast times varied in U.S. time zones, but remember that Canada had a different schedule too.

OBAF .......

YOU ARE CORRECT! I was wrong!

There WILL BE a half-hour results show on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm MST.

I took my earlier info from the TV Listings section of my local newspaper. I should have learned long ago never to trust anything printed in that rag.

I just checked the TV Guide Online site AND the American Idol homepage (things I should have done before I posted my first reply) and confirmed that the show and voting format will be on two successive nights, just like last season.

Sorry for any confusion because of my mistake. I'll go back and edit my original reply to fix this problem.

Well, I tried to go back and edit my original message but that's a "No Go". Time has expired, according to the dialog box that popped up.

So, to reiterate:

The first group's performance show will air from 7:00 - 8:00 pm MST on Tuesday night and the voting results show will air from 7:30 - 8:00 pm MST on Wednesday night (right after That 70s Show. That info is from the TV Guide Online site. The schedule might vary slightly in other time zones.

YOU ARE CORRECT!

For once ... but even a submarine comes up once in awhile

... confirmed that the show and voting format will be on two successive nights, just like last season.

And thank you for delivering the right words : "successive nights" which is a whole lot more concise than my blathering explanations

Yep. The erasers on the INR pencils are built to last for only about an hour I think.

Ah I see, so that means I'm delayed by 3 or 4 days at most, well it's good that I can keep up with you guys. I'm definately here to stay as I am a regular watcher of the show. There is a British version, (this show was actually created by an Englishman you know!) It's called 'Pop Idol' and basically people come in and sing pop songs and ONLY pop songs and I hate pop music, so usually I just turn it off when it goes to the voting. Do the North Americans only sing pop songs when the show goes live too? Because to be honest, I'm not sure if I can bear it. I watch the show mainly to just see judges comments. That's actually what keps me tuned in.

PS It's good to have Intercontinental Relations, because North American people are really nice and no fuscia, my name has nothing to do with Harry Potter!

Really glad to have you here, and I guess I just presumed you selected your username based on your location
and I still want to know what your signature means.

One minor word of caution, since you are behind us in receiving the broadcasts, you might consider show discussions here "spoilers" before you view ... but please don't let that keep you away.

It's nice you want me here, I didn't think I'd get 'liked' so much!

My nickname: I'm actually not on that location, however my favorite soccer team, Fiorentina, plays in Firenze...I've sort have taken the culture on to myself and would like to visit the place someday.

I will only reply here after I've seen the shows, but I do have a question though.

Is it possible to become an 'R&B or a 'Rock' icon on AI? Or is it just a 'pop' thing...?

I wouldn't be suprised though. We all know what Simon wants.

Have you heard of a boyband called Westlife?

Guess who created them...?
