American Idol: Season 3 Forum

Hi. I'm probably about the only person here who is not familar with how the different stages of AI processes.
OK. Now there are 32 contestants and next week they'll have 8 out of the 32 performing. How many out of the 8 do they cut ?
What is this wildcard show that I keep on hearing about ? When does it happen and how many from the wildcard show gets pick ?

Karen, they will have 8 preform each week, and the two with the most call in votes will go on. There will be a total of 8 that way. Then, the judges each pick one person (wild cards) and that will be 11 contestants. Then, we, the viewers, will get to vote, and the person from the remainder of the 32 contestants will be put in the final group of 12.
