The first girl group to perform on Wednesday night was definitely great. A blonde and two brunettes. And I remember them as having one of the dark-haired girl's mother, who used to be a 70s performer in Bulgaria, coaching them and helping them to refine their act. AI showed a little interview clip of them all together just before the performance.
Sportsinger says that the blonde singer in that group was Katie Webber, who will be performing in the first group of 8 next week.
But, on the AI website, under the heading of RECAPS, it says this about that group: "Well, Eliza Bendy and Dina and Leah were real nice. But they had a 70s era Bulgarian pop star helping them out, and that would give anybody a leg up. But the judges loved it . . ."
Okay, I looked through all the photos of the Final 32 and I found Katie (of course) and Leah LaBelle but no one named Dina or Eliza Bendy. So, I am confoos-ed.
Was Katie Webber definitely the blonde girl in that group? I tend to believe that she was, even though I'm not 100% sure.
The reason I think she's the one is because, if it was some girl named Eliza instead, who was the blonde singing in that first girl group, I can't imagine the judges cutting her out of the Final 32. The blonde singer in that first group was just TOO GOOD to get cut. Yet there is no Eliza now in the Final 32.
So, the info on the AI website MUST be wrong. Is that right?
Anyone have a tape of that show segment that they could check for the correct names of those three girl singers? Thanks.
