Cos I have older sisters they've eased up a little bit though... they used to get really agitated at the idea of me KNOWING boys.. or ACKNOWLEDGING boys... in fact I think Michael Keown is the first person they've accepted as my having a crush on!!!!! Oh My... i was rewatching the Hollywood rounds and i reaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllly missed Michael. He's so cute and he's so so talented. I think the judges didn't put him through because they didn't like his personality! It CANNOT AT ALL be just because HE DIDN'T STAND OUT THAT NIGHT! Honestly! Cos other contestants like Lisa(duh!), Kara Master, etc... were sooo much worse! i mean! God! It's just quite unacceptable the fact that he didn't get through! i mean... even alan was cut later than him! what s*** is that?! I just think it's really unfair! michael just deserves A LOT MORE! I would recommend other people to listen to this as it if they heard it they would reaslie that he's not cocky and hes not arrogant...... Haha...I know how you feel. I think the reason why most people don't like Michael is because they are constantly comparing this season to Clay. Just because Clay is one of those once in a lifetime good singers with an excellent persoanlity doesn't mean everyone is going to act lik him. I like Clay, but I'm not comparing anyone to him. I understand everyone is good in their own way. I had a long talk about Michael to my sorority big sister last night, and she also thinks he's not that arrogant. She thinks he probably has what it takes to even make it by himself. I mean he has the voice. Even the people who don't like him have to agree with his voice (he sang Unchained Melody so well that I dont' want anyone else to sing it besides the originals Rightious Brothers and Elvis), he sang for the president and the pope, he won MTV say what karaoke, he got a lot of exposure during the hollywood round. DOn't think too many unsigned singers has had that much exposure has he has. I'm really sure his time will come soon. All he needs is a little bit of luck. As with how the judgs chose who to cut and who to make the next round of AI, I have a feeling that in some cases, they just randomly selected people, and Michael was just one of the unlucky ones. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

but luckily for me, my sister was wqilling to have a short conversation about michael keown this morning and now i've finally convicned her that his portrayla of his negetive attitude wwas pretty much a case of bad editing. Cos the way he said it...it kind of gave you the impression that there were also other people who made a stand and wanted to know why they were cut.... and I'm sure there were heaps of other people!!!!!! So I'm kind of glad they gave him theyat exposure cos now next year when he gets in again, people will remeber him and think "oh his attitude has improved...and his talent is really good"

I'm listening over the Michael Interviews again.... he's so cute in the bit where he gets all embarrassed when they were like "Elizabeth? She's HOT!" And he's like "Uh...yeah...she's.." *chuckles" hehehehe...so damn cute! hehe...and doesn't matter if he likes her.... I'm pretty sure she has a boyfriend... I think I remeber her mentionining it in her intro just before her first semi0final performance....hehehe
But in non-selfish way. I think they'd make a very nice couple because they're both goodlooking people with great voices... can you imagine what they're kids will turn out like!?!?!?! Amazing hehehe

You know what else I discovered? Michael seems to be the more famous AI contestant from Vegas than Erskine Walcott. I mean if you search reviewjournal.com, or lasvegassun.com, you can find more and longer articles about Michael than you can about Erskine, and also that Las Vegas radio station seemed to follow Michael more. Like for example, they interviewed Michael three times while they only interviewed Erskine once, and Erskine is the one who made it farther than Michael has. Hmmmm...

Yay, us Michael fans are back to talking online =). I really wish there are new updates about him..he got majorly cheated in this competition, or at least a top 32 spot. Usuaully I won't mind AS much, but this year they seem to let a lot of undeserving people in and cutting a lot of deserving people. The producers must have a logical reasoning behind this.

I thought of another theory about why Michael probably got cut. I don't know if I discussed it with you guys, Jess_C and KeownStevens, on msn, but I'll post it here anyways. Ok, you know how the first season, Kelly won, and last season, Ruben won? I think the producers want the genders of the winners to switch off each year. Like first season it was female, last season it is a male, and so I think this season the producers want a female winner. And you know how manipulative the producers can be. I have a feeling that Michael is the only male who is capable of winning it all. Seriously, look at this season's males in the top 12. Some of them are pretty good, but in my eyes, I don't see any of them winning the competition. The girls in the top 12 are so much stronger than the guys. But anyways, I think to eliminate any chances of a male winning the competition, the producers cut Michael early on, and to give us a reason why he got cut, they showed footages of him having an attitude. If the producers want a male to win AI next season, and Michael comes back, then I have a feeling that he has a big chance of winning. And in terms of a lot of talented females not getting a spot they deserve this season...that's true, but I think there's just too many talented females this season, and not enough spots for them. Like I think that even if the top 12 this season is all females, a lot of other talented females would have missed out on a spot they deserved. But the producers decided to have some guys in the top 12 to make things look good. Hopefully my theory is right. But we'll just have to see. So what do you think of my theory about Michael? Man, I discovered I used a lot of critical thinking about this. I should have instead be using my critical thinking in my nursing school work lol. Oh well.

Did anyone rewatch the Hollywood round in which the original songs were being sung? Jess_C pointed out a part of Michael that she didn't think was exactly perfect. She noticed him laughing when Taryn Southern (sp?) forgot her words when she was singing. So then I decided to watch that part again. I was zeroing on Michael's face the first time she forgot her words to the song, and Michael looked to have a straight face. I kept on going back to that part to make sure Michael wasn't laughing, and he wasn't. However the part he did laugh was when Taryn sang "And here I am now, to prove I can do it", and then she forgets her words for a second time (or third time). And then I noticed Jeffrey Dingle next to Michael, and he was laughing too. Well, they both didn't seem like they were really laughing, it just looked like they were chuckling. I just think it's becuase they see the irony of that song: Taryn singing that she can prove that she can do anything, and then she forgot the words. Simon even pointed out that bad irony. I think a lot of people were laughing or chuckling at that one point because of the irony. That's how I saw it. But I don't know, what do you think? i think I'm gonna watch some of the other original performances too in which Michael is standing on stage to see his facial expressions then when there is no "bad irony" involved.

Hey you guys, this doesn't exactly have too much to do with Michael Keown except it has to do with Las Vegas. I was on that website in which I downloaded the three Michael interviews, and they posted a link to reviewjournal's best of 2004 list. I just thought it was interesting. I have a feeling that what they named the best Italian Restaurant was the one I went to last time I went to Vegas when I was 17. And then the staff's pick of best Asian restaurant is a Cantonese/Mandarin restaurant in Harrah's (where Michael works). Hmmmmm..maybe this gives me another inspiration to go to vegas and Harrah's. Get a chance to meet Michael, and also to sample what they call the best Chinese food in Vegas..mmmmmmmm.

hmmm...I'm wondering...is Michael and the other contestants who got cut in Hollywood still under contract with Fox? I heard the contract lasts for six months after the contestant leaves the show, I'm just not sure if it also applies to people who got cut in Hollywood.

Hmm...there was talk about this in the other forums about "what ifs". What if Michael had made it to the top 12, and is still in the run? I wonder what song he would have chosen for movie night. I wonder if he would have chosen Unchained Melody. He already did a great job on it acapella style in the original auditions. I wonder how he would have sounded singing the song with music.

Hey people it's Lily the girl who went to school with Michael at CalArts. I don't think they kicked him out for his attitude because in the music business you need to have attitude to get anywhere, and I think it was a little bit of everything. Trust me on that! Mick got kicked off for a little of everything. He didn't reach the potential that I know he can do and that the judges know that he can do! They didn't like his melody and he fogot words. Even though other people made it farther then him, they all got cut anyway.....I am going to convince MIke to try out next year!!! Michael is a very tallented guy who will get somewhere hopefully if he tries out again for american Idol! It's just this was his first time trying out and he didn't know what to expect. He had an off day that day because they shove something in your face like a few hours before you are suppose to sing it, for example making up your own melody to a song. That **** doesn't come easy... It's incredibly hard to do...I hope he does try out again because I love Mike and he is like my brother. He is singing in Vegas next week at this music event on sat. He has become a very important person he can't go anywhere without people recegnizing him. I'm excited though because I get to see him hopefully in a few weeks because he is coming to visit me and my friends at the end of April so he says...Anyway I will prob talk to him soon and I will tell him you all say hey!! Aw, thanks for posting again Tibby! I'm so happy to find some more Michael news. I really do hope that he'll come back and audition again. I'm already counting the days till AI4 airs for the possibility of his return. Yes, even after all this time, I'm still a big fan of his. Hopefully if he does come back next year, 05 will be his year! I don't know what was going through the producers/judges' minds this year when they cut a lot of the truly talented and kept some really undeserving people on board. I mean yes, Michael may have ONE off performance, but I didn't think he messed up TOO badly. I know a lot of other contestants messed up a lot worse than he did but still managed to move on. My main thinking though of why Michael didn't make it that far this year is that the producers/judges are looking for a female winner this year. So you know how it is a tv show and things could be manipulative, and I think they cut Michael because he was probably the male who would bring the biggest threat to the ladies for the winners spot.
