| Posted by: spiderwoman | | You have to admit, you can't listen to Clay Aiken 24/7, so wat do you guys do when are finding something else to do, someone else to listen to? I just love the band Evanescence and I really like Shania Twain aswell. So what is your pleasure?

| Posted by: clayfan101 | | wow.....this is a great thread. i LOVE the All-American Rejects! that's like my favourite band, and Clay is my Favourite singer!!!

I like a lot of different types of music. Country, like Shania and Faith Hill, and the Dixie Chicks, and I like punk kinda music i suppose, like sum 41 and blink 182 and stuff, although I have none of their cd's. annnnd, i like some of the pop music, like well, i dunno.....hmm....Avril lavigne, some Britney songs, and just for fun i like to listen to my old stuff, like Backstreet Boys because its fun!!!! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: PuNkY bReWsTeR | | Hahaha... The Backstreet Boys! (Too bad I packed away all my Nick and AJ posters...)
I like to give my Clay CD a rest every once in a while (Okay, that's a lie. It's more like every other day) and I got a lot (I mean A LOT) of CDs... Some 200+ CDs.... Wowsa
My taste in music is pretty eclectic... You name it, I got that style. From Hard Rock to indie, to folk, to classical, to pop, to classic rock, etc.
My favs are (and there's a lot):
-Of course CLAY
-Evanescence (awesome group. Who would've thought of teaming up an operatic singer with a hard rock band?)
-Pink Floyd (My #1 fav band of all time... Got all albums on both CD and vinyl. Found the records in a little record shop in Montreal last year for $10 in total. Really cheap and they were in mint condition. I think the guy ripped himself off.... :indiff2
-Eva Cassidy (check this girl out if you haven't heard of her yet. AMAZING singer. She's basically a cover artist b/c she didn't think her own material was worth listening to. Her rendition of Sitng's "Fields of Gold" will move you, and the ballad "I Know You By Heart" made me cry -literally- the first time I heard it.)
-David Usher (no, not Usher the R&B singer, this guy is a Canadian icon. Remember Moist, anyone? Psst. He was the frontman of that group)
-OLP, or "Our Lady Peace" (Again, Canadian... Clumsy was their best album... Check it out if you like alternative rock.)
-Chantal Kreviazuk (OLP frontman's wife... She's amazing, fits in the class of Vanessa Carleton)
-Faith Hill (powerhouse voice... My goodness...)
-Simple Plan (for the fact that they actually do care about the fans. Saw them on their first concert back in 01 at Edgefest II before their album came out)
-Good Charlotte (saw them at the same concert as Simple Plan, bought their debut album after hearing one song, and their new vid "Hold On" is a must see... Personally I think it's the best vid ever made.)
-Classical such as Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, and Bach.
-Musicals. Les Miserables is my #1 fav (Colm Wilkinson is the best Valjean) and Phantom of the Opera (Wilkinson was the first Phantom at Toronto, which sadly the Pantages theatre shut it's doors on Phantom after ten years. The one guy from KISS was I believe the last Phantom to grace the stage there. He rocked)
and well... there's others, but this is getting long.... and my hand hurts...
You asked, I delivered my favs along with the whys behind my choices. Enjoy the read guys! | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: PuNkY bReWsTeR | | lol. Oh yeah.. Clay is the greatest male singer out there! He ties first place with P.F. cuz I've been a Floyd fan for YEARS.... But having Clay tie first in my heart is speaking a lot... I mean... Ask any of my friends. They'll roll their eyes and tell you it's sickening...
On a side note....
Has anyone heard Kimberly Locke's new single (8 World Wonder)
I think it's an awesome song... Me so proud! I think this is the first "Idol" contest where all contestants in the top three have all released singles. WHA BAM! (I hope AI3 becomes this promising) | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: PuNkY bReWsTeR | | It's a really good song. The lyrics and music sound like it was penned by Mandy Moore (or whoever writes her music) and Kim sounds a little like the lead singer from the Corrs. I like it. Yeah, I'll be getting her CD when it comes out. | | Reply To this Message
