American Idol: Season 3 Forum

Thoughts on tonights show.

Well, there were some great singers that got put through.
There were also some funny moments.
I was ticked because they showed that geek that tried out in season two... Edgar who tried doing Enrique, and was awful, and tried to sneak back on, and then showed up for season three. I thought that they would show his audition, but they didn't.
I also didn't like Simon telling that girl that she had to lose weight, and that the competition needed a certain look. WHAT AM I MISSING... wasn't Ruben a huge pig? Oh, I guess it's double standards, and it only matters what a girl looks like, right?

At least tonight's show gave us a look at some of the talent rather than overwhelming us with wackos's.

Can't think of all their names but there's some talented kids there.

Were there more women than men or was that just my impression ?

Best of the night was Lisa. She was the curvey red head who sang "Vision of Love". Simon said she was too fat. HELLO? Frenchie from last season was a cow! This girl can sing, and if she had worn better clothes, she would look slimmer. She wore a huge belt on low rise pants. That will always look like you have huge hips.

Other talent. Eric Yoder. They compared him to Clay vocally. He had no personality. I will expect him to fizzle quickly.

Dianna-16 year old girl in a beret. Very cutsey, but can sing really well.

Sarah Logan at the end. She auditioned with her boyfriend. She sang well, but the hair and the sleazy outfit were not good.

What did you think of the young man that sang rock style, and then did that Disney song, and they said... now you're being fake? I was pissed. I think that if you are a true singer, you can sing anything... and that you shouldn't have to sing in one way, no matter what. So, that will be interesting to see what they do with him.

I thought it sucked. He tried to adapt. They would have crucified him if he sang it with the rocker voice.
