American Idol: Season 3 Forum

Thoughts on the show tonight.

Okay....

Here is where I was stunned the most...

Samantha (the one with the Simon shirt) sang the song by Beyonce....and I thought she was really good....and Simon liked her, yet Paula and Randy said no...

in comes the model...and she isnt half as good as the other girl, yet they said yes...

Surprised? Not really....

Stunned? Absolutely!

That told me a story in itself....


I was completely dumfounded over that!

Good but not good enough to advance:

Big Rocking Girl

Didn't advance ... and very strange

Beach Boy Isaac ... who actually sounded not too bad on the beach. Very odd.

Best of Show:

- Sleepy Jon aka Aaron Neville ... our Pen Pal.

- Sonny "the Entertainer"... his elevator may go to the penthouse someday.

- Camile the Pancake Cutie ... may stack up some votes.

Questionable Honorable Mention - advanced

- Beat Box Johah ... A "representin'" Ruben Replica ? He hasn't mentioned his mama YET. Give him time

- Toothsome Country Model Lisa ... will she take a bite out of the competition ?

- Clifford the Firefighter ... will he learn to sing without his nose ?

Time wasting wailers

-There were more including one who "sang" 'A moment like this' and I didn't recognize it.

I enjoyed the little best of the worst "tribute" at the end ... You know ... that's all they should do next season. Let them listen to all the bad ones and pick out one or two from each place and show it at the end.

she's very easy on the eyes. and she's got a nice voice.

Yes, it really bothered me that the model at the end got in, but the girl that was wearing that "Hawaii loves Simon" shirt didn't. And when ANY of the judges makes comments that this is a singing competition to someone, and they have let someone else through who really isn't THAT good, but okay, and they dismiss someone who is better than okay, I'm left to ponder what the hell they are doing.

Samantha ... I forgot about her !

You guys are right ... she was at least as good as the toothy model but yet she didn't make it.

Did you notice that in the voice over Ryan called her the "queen of the kiss-ups" ? Do you think they cut her partly because she pandered to Simon ?

The whole audition, and especially when Simon said yes and R & P said no seemed (to me) to almost be pre-arranged and their little private joke.

It's hard to explain what I mean ... but you know how when someone keeps pressing something or making accusations and then the accused one just says ok .. fine ... you're right ... you win ? Like that.

They've made a big deal about Simon with the "ladies" ... and so Simon just says yes to make a joke/point ... at unsuspecting Samantha's expense.

I had the feeling he/they were just waiting for someone like her to do this.

Ya' think ? Or am I over analyzing this ?

I think that there is a huge set up on things, and that everything isn't truly as it seems.

I agree Kris. That model was not good enough to get through. It was all about Simon loving her look and huge chest.

Well, it will be interesting to see Monday nights show... and all those that made it to Hollywood.

And, from the previews of next week, it looks like there's going to be some crap ahead.
That girl that says to Simon... I guess that we know that it's more than a rumor about you being gay!

Yup. You talk back, you get your butt shown the door by security. I hate people with the attitude. If you can't take the criticism, then you do not belong in the business.

I agree... and while Simon gives comments that are sometimes way too hurtful... you have to be able to take critisim in that business.

Yes, it is true. What I also find amazing about Simon is that he will let overweight men in the contest, but has a beef with overweight women.

That girl who made the gay remark needs a slap ... how dare she ... and her name & face will be on the not-wanted list of other music producers so she has sealed her fate.

As for Simon being a pig "they say" he's really a softie and I'm not insightful enough to figure out if he truly is a pig ... or he just acts like one for the ratings ... but I guess that would make him a different breed of pig ... but a pig anyway.

About Simon's unkind remarks ... just look at what a class at like Clay Aiken did with Simon's brutality !!!!!!!!

No... if you believe that Simon was sincere in that he would have said NO to her, then you missed that smirk on his face when he said it.

umm, can you all say Carmen Rassmusen? She was pretty, but her voice was nowhere near good enough. We may have found the next Carmen.

Well, if you KNOW ahead of time the kind of comments that they give, then don't go!
This is a TOUGH business, and when you strut your @ss in there, thinking that you are the end all of everything, and you suck, and they say no, and you argue with them, what the hell do you expect?

And of course he makes those comments for the ratings!!!
