allright, so the hero's in Tokein's stories don't feel left, they get a thread too. I think the most heroic characters were Fingolfin, and Finrod. Finrod died to save Beren on his quest of the Silmaril, and Fingolfin died in a duel against Morgoth.

Well SHadow, if they are heroes then you should give us a better picture of why. O.K. I forgot the part about Finrod. Curse him and all the F named elves!

this is more of a thread to discuss who YOU guys think are heroes, not just me. but i thought the 2 i mentioned were fairly obvious in their heroism.

Fingolfin and Finrod Felagund are probably the most heroic elves in the Silmarillion, along with Beleg Cuthalion.

Beren was probably the most heroic of men in the Silmarillion, Turin was as well but he made more mistakes.

Dain Ironfoot is probably the most heroic Dwarf ot the third age along with Thorin Oakenshield and Gimli.

The heroic men of the third age are probably Bard the bowman, Aragon Ellesar, Faramir, Theoden of Rohan, Eomer and possibly Boromir.

The most Heroic women of any age are probably Luthien Tinuviel and Eowen.

I just finished the story with Turin last night. Boy did he have his share of sorrow. Very brave and heroic, but also just as tragic.

I think it was 70 or 74 orcs that Hurin killed, I can't remember and I'm too lazy to look through the book.

I just remembered another Elf from the silmarillion that I missed. Glorfindel who fought with a balrog when Gondolin fell.

He killed 70 trolls of Gothmog's troll-guard. Ecthellion killed Gothmog in the fall of Gondolin.

I really believe that Luthien deserves her own post in here. She followed Beren, enchanted Morgoth, and sang for the Valar. She was a hero.

Sorry, was I saying Orcs? I has been a while since I read the Silamrillion though and you never remember everything even if you have a photographic memory.

Here's another I though of Gwindor of Nargothrond who rode to the very steps of Thangorodrim and helped rescue Turin from Orcs.
