| Posted by: Shadow Stalker | | This is a thread to discuss the Villianous, lowdown, rotten and otherwise evil characters in Tolkiens books.
I like Balrogs..not only do they look cool, they have powers to match. thought they seem to have a problem with fighting in high places, as they tend to fall. Of all the things Balrogs do, they fall the most, a grand total of 7 times. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: fuscia | | Since the Balrogs live in pits and such, I would say it is Melkors fault for not teaching them how to fight in high places.
Melkor was the ultimate villain. He was greedy, resentful and power hungry. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: White Tiger | | Celegorm and Curufin tried to usurp the throne of Nargothrond and Celegorm tried to wed Luthien Tinuviel against her will (or was it Curufin?) and they tried to kill Beren. That makes them Villains doesn't it?
Gollum is a boarder line villain because in the end he save Middle-Earth, ok so it was through his own greed but still. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Heatherhobbit | | Morgoth, the original villian. Creator of all things evil. He is the ultimate villian. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Shadow Stalker | | yes...the prophecy itself is the second Doom of Mandos. its his second prophecy regarding middle-earth, and it fortells of Melkors escape from the Walls of Night. In the end he will be defeated by Turin Turumbar, and the revenge of the line of Hurin will be accomplished, and Turin's Doom fullfilled. | | Reply To this Message
