I have been thinking of people who really contribute to the site and fit the description of a Mod. This thread is so people can say who they think would be a good Mod. I’m interested to see who gets the most 'votes'. I would like to nominate The Rebel just because he breaks up arguments and always says something intellectual. Also, does anybody think Chodder has what it takes to be one?

I'd vote for Rebel, he is a well rounded fellow.

But you have to volunteer to be a mod and I don't think he wants to be one at the moment. Being a mod is hard, you have to correct people and people don't like it!

Chodder, you can scrounge up 3 dollars a month can't you? Don't you get an allowance? It would be a lot easier to get the perks by going Gold, than being a Mod. Can you imagine all the aggravation they have to put up with?

If you still want to go Mod, I'd vote for ya. But our votes don't count anyhow, so it's just a sympathy vote. The staff makes those decisions!

I'd vote for Rebel, Whidden, and as an afterthought, maybe... choda-boy.

If Whidden was a mod, it would be pure pandamonium. There is no way I would tell some poor sap he was off topic.

I'd probably turn mean from the power and delete half the posts in here or send them to the Flamers Ward and turn the half of the posters pink. It's would be too much power for the Whidden!

chodder, you can apply, but we have absolutely no need for any staff at this time.

You can always apply... we will hang on to them. But, at the time, we are completely full.
That doesn't mean that an opening won't happen... anything is possible!!!

i just looked and you guys have 13 moderators. i think that is plenty just for one site.

Chodder, if we EVER create an award for "Brown Nosers" you should get the award. You don't even have anyone to run against you in the campaign.

I am not being mean, just messing with you. BTW, I filled out the application too. Wouldn't it be great if both us become mods, although the chances are almost nil, as of today.

Chodder, we could put you in charge of all the smilies. Wal-mart stole one of our smilies and now he's still running around knocking down prices. If you can capture the runaway smilie, perhaps we can make you keeper of the smilies. Marc may even give you your own.

Definitely The Rebel. He was awesome throughout the Matrix threads, among others. Everyone would be stuck, and he's post this massive novel and it would be so detailed and well-explained.

Thanks for the nice words and support for me, Chod, Whid, Mahesh, Neodammerung and others. But as Whid the wise said, I haven't got time for such a great undertaking at present. But I'll definitely vote for any of you guys/girls should any of you decide to stand for Mod election.

Doesn't matter kid. If you read the little summary after you submit your application, you would know that all they want you to have is a fast and stable connection.

yeah...oh yeah...if you applied to be a mod, would you get an answer if they reject you, or do they just never say anything?

Right now, they don't need any new mods, but they will hold onto the applications in case need arises. So I suppose they never 'reject' anyone.

A cunning way of preventing hurt feelings and wounded pride. No-one is actually 'rejected' as such... just held in case. Clever and effective.

I think HECK would be a good moderator. He is willing to tell you off straight to your face and moderators have to do that a lot. So he fits the description

Oh I think you are. And posts don't really matter. If you can tell off everyone like you did me, then I am sure you would make a good mod.

'Live it down'? Meaning, would you survive it? If that is the meaning, I am sure you will, as long as you don't forget the site for more than 2 or 3 days.

I was thinking maybe you saw it at some stage. Series 1 - 4 were filmed in the early 80's, they screened late 80's early 90's. And then were repeated. Again. And again.

Oh yes, in India, my family has owned a TV since the 70s. But cable television arrived there only in the 90s, and my father still hasn't allowed it to enter our house.

Parents can be funny about technology. But I guess he has his reasons.

Well, the main reason was my studies. I wasted enough time on TV without cable. With it, I would have been a goner.

I've never understood the point of cable myself. What the hell would anyone do with 50 extra channels? Watch tv 24 hours a day? As it is, I watch too much already, and that's just with 5 channels.

If you want to keep up in college, I would say leave those 5 too. But since you are really smart, maybe you can keep up with it.

Blackadder? Yes, it aired for many years. Like M*A*S*H. Repeated and repeated. But because it's so awesome, I don't mind.

It was a British show, starring Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean), Miranda Richardson (lots of things), and Hugh Laurie (lots of things I can't remember).
