Sky's David Chater visited the hospital where the dead and injured were treated following the explosion in a Baghdad market place. He described terrible scenes in the wards as doctors struggled to cope with the dozens of bloodied, wounded victims.

This is the report he filed shortly after leaving the city's Al Noor Hospital:"A lot of relatives are screaming. People are in a panic. There are a lot of small children. No one can give me an idea of what happened. There was no warning, there was a huge blast in popular market place. One man was having his wounds tended to having already had his arm amputated, but he gave a Victory signal.People are milling around in shock.I have no idea how many people have been injured but I saw around 40There are terrible scenes in there. I've never seen so many injured people from one incident.

Was this an attempt to win over his heart and mind? I don't think it worked, dialogue of some sort works better than this.

No one knows what exactly happened. Anyone besides the military is making up an excuse.

Verdict is out.

This attack could have been the result of Iraqi anti-aircraft artillery. The US military has indicated they are unaware of who was responsible for this specific event. Numerous times over the past few days, the pentagon has admitted to being in the wrong when it has come to civilian casualties explaining in detail those casualties which they were responsible for. Are they lying? Possibly, but it would make no sense for them to attempt to cover up one incident and admit another. This would only serve to fuel any anti-war campaign when factual information surfaced.

Read the latest news from various sources - not only could this particular incident been the result of Iraqi weaponry - but it is clear as day now from numerous sources that Iraq has turned its weapons on its own civilians in towns like Basrah.

Iraq is in a highly vulnerable position and has and will resort to any tactics they can to achieve the success of a regieme built on the foundation of power and greed.

Could have happened. You know these bomb are programmed by humans. Humans make mistakes. Just think if the guy who programmed the missile or bomb was off by a digit. a .10 in a coordinate is a big difference from .19. You get the idea.
Anyway it's war and thing don't always go as planned. It's war and people die, even civilians.
