Hagrid is the Keeper of Keys at Hogwarts, among other things that he does. What exactly does that entail? Does he have a ton of keys for the entire place, or what. You would think that the teachers could put spells on the doors to lock the students out.

Well, I don't think that he needs keys. I bet that it's a magical ward, and that the locks probably "recognize" certain people, and might just automatically unlock.

Though, in the first book, I wonder why all it would take to get through that door was the spell that Hermione did. It should have been much more than that.
