| I got a phone call a while from a company offering me a guaranteed credit card with a $500 limit without any kind of credit check and no money down. All they would need is my account number to verify that I have a checking account. I told them that I didn't have that information with me and told them to call back later. When they called, I did a google search on their "company" name and the first link was a list of people who were complaining that they'd been scammed and that the company had drawn money out of their account. Now this happened while I was at work and they were calling my cell phone. I told them to call me after 5:30 so I could get the information for them. They called me back 5 MORE TIMES without leaving a voicemail to try and seal the deal. I finally answered and told them that I'd called my brother who was an FBI agent in Virginia (He's actually just a homicide detective) who ran a check of their company and told me that it was a scam. I asked for their phone number and told them that if I found out it wasn't a scam after all, I'd call back. But if it was, that I never wanted them to call me again.
I have not received one call from them since.
It makes me mad though, how many people fall for something like that because it sounds like a good deal? | |
