just wondering if anyone else out there is thinking what i am thinking

the media is full of morons!!!

i do not include the "embedded" reporters in this comment...i am speaking of the idiots that we are forced to watch every day asking some of the dumbest questions to the generals, the president, and donald rumsfeld...

you can tell that our leaders are getting annoyed with the journalists just wondering if you are too...

also...have any of you noticed the different political slants that the big 3 networks have been putting on thier news reports....who is the most biased and whose the least?

I couldn't agree more, I've not seen the US new reports but over here (UK) it seems like news is trying to come out faster than it is actually happening. Rumours become facts in 10mins before they go live on air only to be refuted a few hours later when the journalists get slightly closer to the truth, and still we don't know if they are at the truth yet. Of course they call this the "fog" of war, or propaganda of one form or another. A battle becomes a skirmish, becomes friendly fire in a matter of hours. Some say too much news is just as bad as not enough news.

Over here Mr Blair says British soldiers were executed (the two that went missing), the family denounce him for saying that because the army told the family the soldiers died fighting. Personally I would have thought they would have fought and been killed, is it propaganda to say the Iraqi's executed them, who knows for sure? It has been condemed as against the Geneva Convention for soldiers to be shot, but innocent civilians (now numbering over 100) killed by stray missiles arn't covered by the Geneva Convention? they are just collateral damage and don't count - nice convention.

I just think that the journalists that got stuck with the crappy job of hangin out at CENTCOM briefings and the like just plain don't have enough good questions to ask. The embedded reporters pretty much take care of all of the questions that any of these Generals can answer. So the CENTCOM reporters are stuck with questions like, "General Franks, what is your favourite colour?"

OH, and I think CNN is the most iased cuz it has the best deals cut with the US gov't. Have any of you noticed the occasional "US ARMY or AIRFORCE" logos in the upper right hand corner of your screen? I have never in my life known CNN to share its screenspace with advertisers until now so it must have lots of sweet (and secret) deals with the US gov't and will support it to the end. And I say good for them! America needs good propaganda!

This is one topic that I think both sides can agree on. I have heard some of the stupidest questions from those reporters.

The woman on FoxNews really takes the cake. She can really ask questions that only a bonifide moron would ask.

just as an example....i was watching NBC the other night for an hour, then i switched to CBS for about an hour....i was'nt sure that they were talking about the same war

what i gathered from those two shows was that NBC is anti war and CBS was pro war......the NBC hour was all about everything that could possibly ever go wrong and everthing that maybe has gone wrong, while CBS was all about civilians hugging soldiers, denouncing Saddam, and everything that was going well in the war....

is this what they call "fair and balanced coverage"....if so fair and balanced for whom?

There are only about 15 or 20 women on FoxNews. Which one are you refering to?

So far Fox News seems to be relatively middle-of-the-road in their reporting.. it's one of their objectives in order to come out shining at the end. Bill O'Reilly just had an interview yesterday with an independent media aalyst who agreed that the majority of the coverage is biased to one side or the other (not just in the U.S., she also included BBC in this group) and that only a few were doing an adequate job. She says what sets Fox apart from the rest is what Fox had hoped would: they clearly and decisively separate commentary/opinion from objective reporting. And that's all it takes, really.

The reason the media are asking 'stupid' questions is quite simple.
They are not stupid, they know the questions will seem to be stupid to the public, and the public then are then swayed to agree with the military commanders that are being interviewed.

This whole thing is being very carefully pitched to sway all opinions. There are some very clever stunts being pulled by the governments and the media. Most people dont like war but the reporting has managed to get a lot of people accepting this invasion.

I guess you haven't seen the Q&A a CentCom in Qatar or the Pentagon. These reporters are from all over the world including China, Korea, BBC, Al-Jazeera. Israel, Germany, France. Etc.

So I find your statements to be very untrue.

Yes ive seen them, and I am familiar with the results of the questions asked, it is the results that are important not who is asking them. This is also a propaganda war against us and just because a reporter works for al-jazeera doesnt mean they are not going to ask questions that will have a beneficial knock-on effect for those trying to convince us that war is the right thing for us to monger. Tinkering with the phsycology of nations isnt straight forward you know!

Fox News in the midle of the road ??????????

Rumsfeld intervention is high audience, so even if the info is not verified and unverifiable we MUST show them ....

And you think that they will "balance" the news ?

After 2 or 3 days Iraqi soldier started to surrend. Fox News announced about 8000 surrending. 2 hours later General Franks said it was about 1000 including civils.
About the "chemical" plant found: Fox News said: Iraq has chemical weapon, here is the proof .... denied during the day by General Franks

Honnest and Balanced news

I believe the Americans have been given a different picture through the so called "embedded" reporters, informing the world through the eyes of coalition troops.

Other parts of the world are luckier than the Americans. They are able to follow the developments in Iraq through various options, e.g. CNN, MSNBC, Al-Jazeera, BBC, DW-TV (German station), and even CCTV (Beijing-based station) through Chinese reporters!

The American TV stations repeat that the attack is to liberate the Iraqis - it isn't an invasion or an attack. These terms would never be used by the embedded reporters. The joke is because these reporters are already "in bed" with the American forces.

The Qatar-based Al-Jazeera is no better, it has been emotional in its coverage...

Still, the world must speak up against a war that is clearly unjust and unwarranted. With so many lives already lost on both sides, it's difficult not to be emotional.

HELLO!!! Where do you think CNN, MSNBC are from yes America, it is on in America too and we also receive BBC and DW-TV on cable and satellite.

Not only America but the world is seeing a different pictures from the embedded reporters. It is the first time in history we get to see war live on TV.
