Now that LOTR is over, do you plan to read some of J.R.R. Tolkien's other books? If you plan to read the Silmarillion, would you be interested in a thread to discuss it?

YES! i would love to have a thread to discuss the Silmarillion. I hope to start rereading it soon.

I have to re-read the Silmarillion as well *sigh* as well as the Book of Lost Tales............ soo much to read, so little time........... i just ordered The Complete Guide to Middle Earth..... I can't wait to get it

And yes, Shadow start that thread.... i'd love to banter on that one!!

are we gonna have to discuss the boring stuff about how Middle earth was made? cuz thats...well dry and boring.

why not Shadow???? I mean I will go along with whatever the majority decides but I thought it be kinda interesting myself..........

its basically just listing all the Valar if i remember right...which i probably don't...well i'll start reading it again when i get home from school...

any way.... have you read the Lost tales Erika? cuz i briefly looked at it...and it looked like stuff that was basically in the silmarillion...just some parts were in more detail than it.

Yeah I read them once before, since for some reason that book is hard to come by...hence the name, uh? If I remember correctly is it like the Silmarillion, because these ten stories are what later developed into the Silmarillion...... so it is basically a creation of Middle-Earth...... still great reading none the less and a little more indepth look into the very beginnings.......try reading it sometime Shadow, you might be quite pleased you did!

I think when we have enough of us that have read the beginning, we can just have someone sum it up. Does that sound o.k.? We can then delve into the good stories.
