| Posted by: Lady Eowyn | | Hey this thread to to ask and figure out what happened to certian people or places in lotr. Cuz we've all read different parts of the appendices and tolkiens other works.
Does anyone know what happened to the following people:
merry (what happens to him? i only know that he was burried with piipin and eoner i think)
Eowyn and Faramir (i heard they were farmers but that doesn't seem right)
Eomer (does he get married and have kids? he would have to right or Eowyn would be Queen right?)
ask your own questions or please help answer mine

| Posted by: Maja88 | | Well i haven't seen the movie... but in the books, Merry returns to Shire, and so does Pippin, and when they die, they are buried with Aragorn. Éowyn and Faramir get from Aragorn a country to supervise, rather than run a farm, and Eomer marries Imrahil's daughter. But then again I don't know what Jackson did with those characters. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Maja88 | | Imrahil is the duke of dol Amroth. I think he was related to Faramir's mother, Finduilas, she was from Dol Amroth as well. BTW, Merry and Pippin visit Eomer before he dies, and I think after that his son becomes the king of Rohan, although I don't know his name. Hmmm... | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Shadow Stalker | | whomever Eomer chose as his successor. technically theoden had no heir either..as his son theodred was killed. as he died, theoden told Eomer that he would be his successor. | | Reply To this Message

| Posted by: Maja88 | | "Éomer became a great king, and being young when he succeeded Théoden he reigned for sixty-five years, longer than all their kings before him save Aldor the Old. In the War of the Ring he made the friendship of King Elessar, and of Imrahil of Dol Amroth; and he rode often to Gondor. In the last year of the Third Age he wedded Lothíriel, daughter of Imrahil. Their son Elfwine the Fair ruled after him."

Hmmm… that settles it then. And Faramir and Éowyn did get married. At least in the book.? | | Reply To this Message
