If Peter Jackson does the Hobbit do you think that Ian Holm should come back as Bilbo? Or do you think that they will cast a younger actor?

A younger actor should be cast. Bilbo set out on his quest with the Dwarves in 1341 Shire. Bilbo was born in 1290. Frodo was born in 1368 and was 50 something when the ring was left to him. A younger actor would be needed. Someone who appears the same age as the Hobbits in LOTR.

It might be nice to have him in it writing the book, starting the movie that way. Narration starting the fim over him writing There and Back Again.

I just think of him when i think of Bilbo. It wouldn't be the same without him. He would have to be a narrator. And Andy Serkis would have to come back as Gollum. He's the only one that can do him justice.

Yes Andy has to be it. I read somewhere that the idea is to make the Hobbit a TV series because there is so much to it. It just would not be the same without Ian as Gandalf. He is the only one who`can play him.

I think someone on cable would have to do it. But I do hope it will be a movie series like LOTR. I think the concern was that it was too long for 1 movie, and the studios were afraid that they could not succeed like they did with LOTR series.

Nope, he's too much of a big 'movie' star. TV would be considered a step backwards for him. And besides, his first love is the theatre. Maybe they could turn LOTR into a play and he could then reprise his Gandalf role. 'YOU SHALL NOT PASSSSS!!!'

I think Ian Holm should play Bilbo. I mean, they made him look younger for that flashback bit in the FotR, they could probably do it again.

It would be cool if he did. He looked like I expected Bilbo to look. How fun will a Hobbit movie be with all of those Dwarves.

But i'm sure whoever plays Bilbo, if not Ian Holm, will be great. After all, did they cast any bad actors in LotR? Nope, so I think the actors in the Hobbit will be awesome!
