Will MJ makeup and the way he dresses hurt him at trial? I think the excessive makeup and his choice of womanly shirts will not help a jury empathize with him.

i disagree. jurors tend to be less harsh on women, so MJ already has an advantage.

Makeup works wonders. Perhaps your question can best be answered by his hairdressor. LOL

I had a friend with the same skin problem Michael has. She got teased alot from children too. Her skin tone was mostly brown (her true color) with large white patches on her face and hands, legs and probably in other areas also. Not only can children be cruel but also adults. Just be grateful you don't have this desease.

Peace

Happy New Year - perhaps both prosperity and health in 2004. But for Jacko, he has one and not the other. Hmmmmm, Michael Jackson has a load of money and a load of skin disease similar to Vitiligo. A choice between money and illness or no money and good health. He's a little weird inside the head and with a skin disease requires protection from the sun with umbrella, which explains why many think badly of him. Read about The Michael Jackson Skin Disease Vitiligo. <-- Just Click Here

This is because vitiligo skin is white as the melanocytes which produce melanin (skin pigment) are not active. The effect of the sun is normally to increase melanin production and to turn the skin brown; this is a protective mechanism to prevent the skin from being damaged by burning. Therefore, the most important reason for protecting your skin is to prevent sunburn. Not only is this painful, but damage to the skin, including sunburn, can stimulate the vitiligo to spread in some people. As vitiligo skin is particularly vulnerable to sunlight and needs protection, some brands of sunblock

Just out of curiousity..and I mean NO offense to anyone or MJ who has this disease (I need to get that out before Im "accused"). I dont anyone who has ever made fun of him for having this disease or find it wierd....

my question however is when is it that MJ ever had patches on his skin? All I saw was brown to white....no patchiness....

Is it makeup that he wore to cover it? And if you say yes...is that a guess or a fact?

Like I said....just curious.

You know what they say about "curiosity" killing a cat. LOL
Here is the best fact I can find so far that shows Jacko has makeup on face (possibly to hide vigiligo skin disease) but his other parts of body seem pretty naturally good so far. LOL

I don't think anyone has a problem with him wearing a foundation to even out his skin tone. It is the heavy eyeliner and the obvious lipstick that is a bit strange.

I have to agree with that....but he must have some pretty damn good foundation.....I buy, what I consider expensive foundation, and it doesnt cover well enough to hide a tan when I have one....he must put coats of it on if it can cover his skin to look white from his brown patches.

BTW....Ken...thats a hilarious picture...almost looks real!

Mystic, they have a special foundation for people who have port wine birth marks or burns on their faces. It really covers. I saw some in a drug store about a decade ago. I bought it to try to cover my huge dark circles when I had the flu and still had to go into work.

I don't know alot about this disease but I can only guess and share what I have seen, and that is I guess it depends on the the person and how bad the disease is. I have seen people with more white patches than brown and vice versa. Just because you have never seen it does not mean it was/is not there. Michael has access to more cover up methods than the average person. I just know the person who has this problem can be destroyed by cruel people.

You also have to recall that MJ was seriously injured making a Pepsi commercial. His face was seriously burned.

I don't think we should be dwelling on facts that MJ has no control over. That is like making fun of anyone with a handicap (mentally or physically).

If MJ is guilty then he should have medical attention.

One thing we can not deny is that MJ is one of the greatest artists we have ever had.

His contribution to the music industry cannot be denied. Without MJ; MTV would not be where it is today. He changed the course of music, dance, and the videos.

As an artist MJ has my deepest respect. Baby boomers watched him grow up from an adorable little boy with a demanding presence. Then in the 70's-80's we watched him grow up into a remarkable young man with initiative and an energy that could not be compared. He did not imitate; he made his own mark.

He is not guilty until proven innocent. This is the United States of America.

Decent human beings do not make fun of others due to a handicap; whether it is a skin condition or deformity or any other condition. Your comments show others your mentality. I don't believe I would look up to you nor want to have you among my friends. Your behavior is pathetic and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Do you kiss your Mother with those cruel mouths?

It doesn't matter if you are black or white.

Great points about Michael's medical illnesses, caused by the Pepsi commercial fireworks to his face, requiring hospitalization and surgery. He has money but not health. People attack him on both fronts. Once any private citizen decides to file a public charge against a celebrity, they're getting their 15 minutes, and the media and public opinion will focus on their background, abandoning own privacy. Court of public opinion will make fun of all three camp players, the celebrity, the accuser and the prosecution. The rules of evidence in court usually don't apply. It's call pre-trial publicity, just watch the leaks from three sides. Street rumors make everything fair game. Do you think mental lapses by the prosecution become fair discussion as well as mental lapses of the accused and accuser?

First off...that was a different thread....

secondly...My statement was made to another post thats stated:

If MJ is guilty then he should have medical attention.

and I said he should also get a prison sentence too (If he is guilty)....

reading it wrong again eh?

And BTW...the donut thing....its real old already....that joke has been going on for years and years....and its just not as humerous (like in laughout loud) like it was years ago...

I don't believe that anyone is making fun of him having a disease, but he does not need to wear more eye makeup than most women do. He may have a serious problem convincing a jury that he is normal when he looks so abnormal. He has the ability to do his hair in a manly way, dress like a guy, and not wear lipstick and eyeliner. He needs the foundation, no one will fault him for that.

http://www.mikeyshouse.com/images/KrispyKreme.jpg Not recalling? Perhaps it's because of PD Holiday party hangover or eating too many donuts. Having re-read the two threads, I come to different conclusions than that. I'm making an effort to follow MY New Year's resolutions. Did you make one for writing clearer? I'm still working on being a better person in 2004.

Ken...again you are taking two different threads and twisting my words around into one thread...

Cant you read?

The one thread I said IF HE IS GUILTY OF MOLESTATION he should get a prison sentence...

the other thread sleeping with young boys DOESNT NECESSARILY MAKE HIM GUILTY OF MOLESTATION but it MAKES HIM GUILTY OF IMMORAL BEHAVIOR (which in that case I NEVER said anything about jail time.)

Get it straight....!

That's exactly Jacko's defense and it's plain and clear from day one to now..... Jacko acts and behaves in an abnormal way and his naivite and anomoly precisely explains why his actions being claimed as innocent with boys in his bedroom doesn't make him a child molestor. He wears makeup because he feels he doesn't look good in public when the dozens of cameras are taking shots at him constantly.

You be a better person from one year to the next. Otherwise, you're standing still. Set your aims, even if you don't hit the target each and every time . Self-reconstruction work in progress.

Got plenty of guts and glory....

I see myself as a good person already.....

If you feel you need to better yourself, then maybe you should work on that instead of putting others down for feeling okay about themselves in order to make yourself that "better person" youve been talking about.

Now....Im done with this topic....because it has nothing to do with this thread.

I agree you are a good person. I'm trying not just be good, but also NICER this year. So please don't think I'm putting you down. It's like a personal trainer, just nudging the other on... push to the limit to gain higher achievement. That's all.

I tried setting aside personality differences. If that is the case at this point, let's move on to something else. Okay, so far....you got guts with conversation and discussions. Back on Jacko issue, I don't hold anything against actor or actress for using customes and makeups. For them, it's a show to the general public.

http://www.mediaman.com.au/articles/irwinjacko.jpg
Professional stunt actor Steve Irwin told The Sunday Telegraph the other night his son had been perfectly safe when he dangled baby on Friday while feeding a chicken to a four-metre crocodile . < -- Just Click Here
quote:
January 4, 2004 Excerpts - CROCODILE hunter Steve Irwin has said that he is considering withdrawing from public life after international criticism of a stunt at his zoo involving his one-month-old baby...Speaking from his home in Queensland, Irwin said the worldwide fallout from taking his baby Bob into a crocodile enclosure with him had left his family "absolutely devastated".

Commentators across the US – where Irwin has achieved a cult-like status through his TV show – compared the incident to the Michael Jackson stunt, when the singer dangled his newborn baby from a high-rise balcony. But a visibly upset Irwin said he was simply carrying on his family tradition and doing what his own father had done for him. "I am not a bad parent. I am not an irresponsible parent. I am not a bad father," Irwin said. "If you knew how much I loved my kids . . . you would know that I would never, ever, put them in any danger, not in a million years. "I would lay down my life for Bindi and Bob, so to hear people say that it was a publicity stunt, that I'm just like Michael Jackson well, it just tears me up. "It makes me sick to the pit of my stomach to be compared in that way."

...But Irwin and wife Terri were undeterred, holding a media conference where they defended teaching their children to be "croc savvy", shortly after ordering five-year-old daughter Bindi into a crocodile enclosure during a live show for the public. Bindi Irwin was told by her parents to get in the new enclosure, which adjoins a crocodile pen, and splash around to encourage the reptiles to swim out. Mum Terri then said: "Now flail around and look helpless. That's the girl – good girl. "The problem is if the crocodile comes in too quickly then I have to buy new floaties because they always pop." "That's my girl – Bindi Irwin, the other white meat." Bindi was then left to lie in shallow water as three large elephants stamped and trumpeted 1m away. A zoo official said a gate connecting the pool to the croc pen was shut during the show.

But patrons were less than impressed with the spectacle. "It's disgraceful," said mother-of-two Melanie Secoudis, who visited the tourist attraction yesterday. Irwin said while he understood people were distressed, he urged them to understand that his family was not "a normal family living with a normal backyard".
"You have to understand the sort of upbringing I had, the sort of upbringing my kids are going to have," he said. "My parents raised me among crocs and snakes and some of the most dangerous creatures in the world, right here at Australia Zoo. "They exposed me to them from a very early age, not because they were irresponsible, but because they loved me .
