I'm not trying to be rude, but where did the world come up with those singers tonight? Is that the best the world had to offer?

GO KELLY!

If anyone here is from Poland, or understands the language, and you watched World Idol tonight, PLEASE TRANSLATE!

What the heck was exchanged between the Poland judge and the Poland contestant? That was a very strange behavior she displayed, and he was strange too. Does anyone know what they said to each other?

Hey, Kooka ... Happy Holidays !

Was visiting yesterday and couldn't watch World Idol.

Do you know if Part 1 will be re-broadcast ? I do understand about 100 words of the language ... isolated words ... and mostly food or swear words. I do have a couple friends who speak and understand Polish and I MAY be able to persuade them to watch and translate. A while ago, VERY late at night, I stumbled on what I think were the Polish Idol semi-finals, on a local Polish station. I don't know what was happening although some performed in English. In any case, it was an absolute hoot

Any chance you can give us a little rundown of what happenned last night ... format, etc.? I presume Kelly is representing the USA.

Kelly was abosolutely incredible! That was one of her best performances, and oh so professional. She sang "Natural Woman".

I'm not trying to slam the rest of the world, honestly, but those people would not cut it in an American Idol competition. Some of them were downright funny. Especially the Polish contestant. I couldn't believe how she acted.

The Poland judge was extremely immature.

The judges didn't like each other and after seeing their behavior, no wonder our countries don't get along with each other! I wonder if the UN has round table meetings and fight (LOL)

Simon was up to his usually "I don't mean to be rude..." self again. He was brutal on everyone but 2. I think it was the Australian and Kelly that got excellent marks from Simon. Whoever sang last was who he liked.

No offense to the rest of the world, but I would not buy any of their CD's, except maybe the one that looked like a computer nerd. Sorry, don't remember the country. He has a very nice voice, and what's odd is he had the same experience as Clay. They didn't like his looks, he was sent home, and came back on a wild card, and won.

They had one singer with a beard that I just wanted to yank off his chin. It looked like a billy goat. He sang some hard rock song that shouldn't have been on in a pop contest.

The lady from Jordan didn't even sing in English, so she didn't get good marks at all, except from her own judge.

Oh yeah... Keith made number 1 worst singer of the world, doing "Like a Virgin". They did the five worst singers of the world and he came in 1st place.

Let's see.... Germany didn't do too bad, but I didn't like it.

The rest are not even worth mentioning.

The hosts were the best of the entire show. It was filmed in London, and those 2 are hilarious.

The "world" has an attitude. Some were downright rude to the judges, especially the girl from Poland. She actually said she hated the Poland judge. Then she said "I don't know how to like him"

I would like to know what the exchange was in Polish though. The judge started it, and the girl came back with a response, then someone wanted to know what was said. The judge didn't translate. The girl translated a bit and said she hated the judge.

i totally agree with you kookaburra! A majority of the contestants in world idol showed little (if any) real talent. The German and Polish singer were definatley amongst the worst performers of the evening...their vocals were unimpressive and they didn't capture the audience's attention/popularity.

Kelly Clarkson, on the other hand was absolutley sensational- great voice, great charisma and a killer smile! The Australian contestant, Guy Sebastian was equally impressive....His got a very unique style and his voice is amazing. Both Guy and Kelly will definatly be recieving my vote!

I agree, Kelly Clarkson was impressive and Guy Sebastian! OMG Guy - I LOVE YOU, even though I hate that version of the song (damn you Mark Holden - damn you to hell) I really love Guy's voice and his whole attitude and what he represents. I thought his performance was good considering the song.

Kelly looked odd in that hat, I don't think she should have worn it, but her singing was incredible. Will Young sang like a poonce, I did not like his pooffy version of that song.

But I quite liked the last guy I think his name was Kurt/ Klaus? I am not sure, he sang "Beautiful Day" by U2. He did not look like an Idol, but his voice was good.

The guy who sang Nirvana was good he had a good voice for that type of music, but considering it was called "Pop Idol" in the UK, I guess people weren't expecting "Rock" music. We had a Rock-chic in our final 12 and she did really well, but I think Pop music is what "Idol" is all about.

The judges were awesome, where else can you get away with saying to someone that they could only win if it was "Middle-Earth Idol" - I mean, come on, he told that poor guy he looked like a Hobbit!!!!!! Funny!!!!!

I really liked the format and as an avid Eurovision fan, would have preferred more contestants to sing in the native language, but other than that I really enjoyed it all.

Does anyone know if they will do it again next year?

Thats the same guy ... Kurt the Hobbit. He's from Norway ... and I guess it must be Middle Earth Idol because he beat Kelly out and WON. !!

He was the number 1 choice of almost every country voting ... and he defintely finished ahead of Kelly in every voting country.

Hope he gets his teeth fixed

LONDON, England (AP) -- Norway's "Pop Idol" Kurt Nilsen moved a step up to "World Idol" when he triumphed in a singing competition with winners from 10 other nations.

"American Idol" Kelly Clarkson won second place, and Belgium's Peter Everard came in third when the vote was announced on Britain's ITV television Friday evening following a Christmas Day broadcast of the international singing competition.

"This is totally amazing," said a thrilled and tearful Nilsen. "I love you guys," he told the 10 other competitors.

The competitors are all winners of the first season of the "Idol" series in their respective countries.

Nilson, a 25-year-old plumber, won the Norwegian version of "Pop Idol" in May. His single, "She's So High," went straight to No. 1 in the Norwegian singles chart and is the country's biggest-selling single to date.

The young Norwegian won maximum points from nine of the 11 countries that voted in the contest for his rendition of the U2 track "Beautiful Day."

Clarkson, a former Texas cocktail waitress, won the first American title in September 2002 and scored a No. 1 single with "A Moment Like This."

Shows patterned after the original series, Britain's "Pop Idol," now are seen in more than 20 countries.

Was it just me, or was the man from Austrailia using the Heat Miser as a model for his hair style?

OMG Kelly!!! You KICKED ASS!!! I totally wanted to vote for you! I liked the guy from South Africa (total hottie) and the guy from Australia had a great voice. I felt he was over looked. I wasn*t very big on the Norwegian guy. He was ugly but he was an AMAZING singer but i still think Kelly or the Australian guy (i think his name is Guy lol) should have won I really liked how the Arabic girl kept her culture in the picture and she wasnt trying to be anything she wasnt. I wanted to vote for her but ya kno I wanted to be fair and I only voted for Heinz but anyways.... The rest pretty much sucked!! Especially the Polish gurl. she seemed cool but definately not world idol material. and i wasnt feelin the canadian guy either...EW..no offense to all u canadians out there but anyways ima rap this up world idol was awesome and i cant wait to see ruben or clay or the future american idol winner compete! hopefully some of the other countries (cough poland) will bring some talent well luv yall! mwah!!! -jESSi*

First of all as far as World Idol is concerned it's been aired in Europe, it was done just before the new year..and I can tell you who the winner is if you want.

As far as the Polish girl was concerned: the main thing you need to know was that she told him 'If you were a judge in Brtian or America, the audience would have shot you by now'

Apparently she doesn't know Simon too well, and no one has shot him.
